Chapter 2 - Neutralities

"Why are you struggling so much, lesser being?"

As this deep and omniscient voice passed through the drums of Aeris' ears, his body trembled, a deep sensation of fear going from his mind through every nerve to every tissue and cell. Or in a word, 'Goose Bumps.'

But Aeris didn't realize a bit about this frightening wave flowing in his blood; instead, for him, this voice was no lesser than a god's, as he found something in this nothing—a hope.

A hope that maybe he can get out of all this.

Maybe he found someone the same as him, someone he can talk with.

From one hand he cleared the blood under his nose, and from the second—his tears.

Putting both hands on nothing (refers to void as he was standing on nothing), balancing his body, he stood up like a child after being injured a little.

Well, he wasn't less than a child from the beginning.

Aeris was gazing everywhere—left, right, here and there, simply everywhere. But he didn't find the source of the voice he heard a moment ago.

It wasn't his mistake either, as the voice echoed from all directions, not just cardinals.

Accepting his defeat in this hide & seek, he shouted as loud as he could, asking two questions in the queue.

"Where are you? Are you stuck here like me?"

"Fool, I am the master of this void. Why would I be stuck in my own home?" The same voice replied with raspiness.

But this time the voice looks to be coming from a particular direction from the front.

In a blink, maybe in even less time, as Aeris wasn't seeing that fraction of a second, someone was already standing in front of him.

It wasn't like something formed, not even a hint of teleportation, much like he was there from the beginning.

In front of Aeris was a young man with unbelievable height and a handsome, lean body; his outfit was surpassing even those of nobles and kings.

Dressed in a white coat with golden embroidery, looking real gold, any girl from his past home—Earth—would fall in love with him.

His black hair and black eyes.

There was only one mistake in his body.

Not a mistake, but that would frighten anyone, like a single black dot on a whiteboard, his third eye with a piercing red iris on his handsome body; it was making him much like a demon lord or the final villain of a show.

But like this, Neutrality cared all about this; Ager was the god of this void—Void Of Nothingness.

That third eye on his forehead wasn't just a showpiece, but it had the ability to see all the lives, all past and future, someone lived or will live, and the karma they gained. Karma is either bad or good. But don't think this eye is limited to such peaceful stuff; its presence alone can crush the planets out of this infinite void.

Someone with such destructive powers! Who is he?

Ager is the Neutrality Of Nothingness, who embodies this void of nothingness.

He is a normal neutrality; every neutrality has such normal powers.

Normal! Really? It's really a normal ability for neutralities, which maintains the order at a universal level. So don't think they are just gods or deities but someone even beyond them.

Ager was standing with his hands behind his back in a formal and noble way.

"Who the hell are you??"

Aeris was confused. If he had read the novels or watched the animes, maybe he would be able to guess the situation he was in.

"I am Ager, the master.... no. I am the owner of this void in which you are currently standing."

Seeing the behavior of the man in front of him, for a reason, Aeris was no longer trembling with fear. Anyways, only his body was shaking before, not him from inside.

"..."

Before Aeris could say anything, that man interrupted Aeris, frowning.

"No more words. You are quite annoying. You should lower your head before me, as no mortal has ever seen me. Reincarnation of mortals doesn't require my presence; even high mortals like Yahyu are only bestowed by the Void Of Nothingness. Still, I am blessing you with a presence of neutrality, ignoring the fact that you are not even the bottom of mortals. To describe the lowliness of being such as you, I don't think 'lesser being' is enough."

Hearing the harsh words of Ager, Aeris instantly replied,

"Then why are you blessing me, mister?"

He is right; humans are really lowly beings. "I am happy; I no longer fall in their category," Aeris thought along with his words.

Frowning his eyebrow, it was clear that he was exasperated already. Like, he also doesn't want to be here; it seems like someone or something was forcing him, as his words were not matching his actions.

Ager was gone in his thoughts.

He is disgusting. How can he have zero karma? As soon as he died, I felt an imbalance in the reincarnation cycle. No mortal ever in history has appeared with zero karma. I don't know before me, but I am sure that no one is after the 7th Destructive Year. Even true gods and angels have karma. But he's different. He's like us, like Neutralities. But how can he have zero? I should see his lives again.

"Don't you think you are too rude and arrogant? You shouldn't talk like this even if it's your home," Aeris said.

"Shut your mouth for a second. Don't move if you don't want yourself to disintegrate."

"Disintegrate?" Aeris's face paled instantly; before he could order his mind to not move, his mind was already working subconsciously in fear, turning Aeris into a living statue. It seemed like even his heartbeat was beating.

He was never afraid of death, but what happened now? Who knows?

The void, which was white a moment ago, seemed red because of the piercing light emitting from Ager's third eye.

Aeris closed his eyes in fear; it wasn't like he could be able to open them either. Ager's third eye was emitting the red light, like a small sun embedded in Ager's forehead. The only difference is that the light is not white.

Don't vanish; this is the only way to see your past, Ager thought. His own body was like it disappeared against the blinding light.

Like a red sun shining in the void.
