Chapter 4 - Fluttering Heart

Queen Monse: She walked up the pathway on the side of the mountain, walking beside Wiliaquo. She stopped as they stepped onto a circular hanging platform. She grabbed onto the railing, staring into the waterfall as the stream flowed peacefully down the mountain.

She inhaled, taking in the scent of the water before reaching her hand out, and the water floated toward her hand. "This feels incredible, and its scent is unlike anything I've smelled. How did you obtain such pure water?"

King Wiliaquo: "We use Cyth Crystals deep within the mountain caverns to create water, which mixes well with the condensation of our cloud systems. We found that when the water forms on the crystals, it comes off in a pure state, combined with the crystal's energy. That is what gives it that glowing cyan color."

Queen Monse: She stared at the water flowing around her fingers, "That is one interesting way to create water on a planet where it doesn't naturally form."

King Wiliaquo: "All elements eventually lead to one another in some way, you just have to find the right path."

Queen Monse: "Wise words. You are truly the only person who makes an effort to make the other elementals feel welcome. Everybody else gloats about their own lands. Especially Valkun..."

King Wiliaquo: He placed his hand on the railing, leaning against it, watching as the water flowed back toward the fall. "Yeah, well, Valkun always was the prideful type, but he is one of the best. He was the one who came up with the rules after all."

Queen Monse: She stared down at the cliff below, watching the water fall off the rocks. "Yeah...the rules."

King Wiliaquo: He raised an eyebrow, noticing her expression shift. "Is there something troubling you, Monse?"

Queen Monse: She fidgeted with her hands for a moment. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. "Let us just get to the top before nightfall, that is when your event officially starts, isn't it?"

King Wiliaquo: He straightened himself, choosing not to pry further into her mood shift, "Yes, of course. Follow me, I'll show you the best view of the fireworks." He started walking back up the cloudy pathway.

Queen Monse: "Fireworks? Like those little explosive things on Earth?" She followed behind him.

King Wiliaquo: "Mhm! Except we don't use fire or any of that other stuff for ours, nothing but our wind and crystals. You'll see what I mean when the show begins."

Once they had made it up to the entrance of his castle, he grabbed her hand gently, pulling her over to a side of the mountain peak. The sunset was aligned perfectly with the town. Once the sun goes down fully, everything will begin.

Queen Monse: "You don't have to tug so hard, I was right behind you-", suddenly the sky became dark, and bursts of light shot up into the sky, illuminating everything around them with rainbow colors. Her eyes sparkled in the light, entranced by its beauty. "Oh my..."

King Wiliaquo: He clanked his bracelets together, forming two chairs from wind. "Take a seat and enjoy the show." The two sat down, watching the people dance in the streets, wyverns flying around in the sky together as if rehearsed.

Queen Monse: "Did you seriously plan all of this?" Her eyes never left the streets, watching everything unfold.

King Wiliaquo: "I plan some parts of it, we as a people try to band our creativity together to make a truly exciting experience for everyone. But since this was your first time, I decided to pull out the fireworks for a special occasion."

Queen Monse: She turned to face him, "You made everything this special, just for me?" She stared at him as he looked down at his own people, watching him wave down at the townsfolk below. She studied his side profile, gripping her robe as she felt something strange inside her chest. "I-I need to leave."

King Wiliaquo: His head shot over, confused as to why she needed to leave so early into everything. "Wait, what? You just got here, why would you need to leave so early?"

Queen Monse: She jumped up from her cloud seat, running down the stairs frantically toward the gate. "I'll see you at the meeting tomorrow!" She felt a blush forming over her blue cheeks, covering it with her hands as she stepped onto the ruin platform. The symbols ignited, and a wave of water transported her away.

King Wiliaquo: He couldn't even get the chance to let a word escape, 'What was that about..." He signaled for his people to continue celebrating, regardless of the sudden interruption.

He tried to think about her actions in just the few hours she was here, confused as to what he did wrong that made her want to leave. "Maybe I'll try to talk to her about it tomorrow..." He walked down the steps to join in the celebration with his people.
