Hearing Noa's direct question, the woman blinked. Even her brows twitched visibly, showing her surprise.
Most men would try to stretch a conversation with her. They would flatter or, at least, be intimidated by her strong presence. Noa, however, wasn't one of them.
He cut to the chase and eyed her sharply.
Clara's smile deepened. She was already intrigued, but her curiosity grew even deeper.
"Straightforward. I like that," she muttered with a grin. Then, instead of answering Noa's question right away, she slid into the chair across from him. "I guess I have to return the favor and be direct as well."
Noa nodded slightly, acknowledging her words.
The woman leaned back and crossed her legs with rare elegance. "I liked how you dealt with James. Publicly, at that. Your attitude towards it was quite a sight as well."
"I believe you can be even more direct," Noa said, his face expressionless.
