Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Not Everyone’s Physical Fitness Is Equal

"Agent Hobbs," Morin said, nodding. "Do you have any evidence that I have a connection with Toretto?"

"You and Toretto are friends. You used to work at the same auto repair shop, and you've had some contact since then," Hobbs said, who was prepared and took out a thick stack of papers.

"Ha, I don't deny that, but there's a small mistake," Morin said, taking the papers and flipping through them. He let out a light laugh. "You missed two words—'used to.' I used to be friends with Toretto, but now… we're practically strangers."

"You think I'll be fooled by that kind of sophistry?" Hobbs said, frowning. "You're just fooling yourself!"

"You sound like you're telling the truth, but what I'm saying is the truth," Morin said, cocking his head. He gestured for the two bikini-clad women playing volleyball nearby to come over. "Or, Agent Hobbs, do you have any strong evidence that I've had any recent contact with Dominic Toretto?"

"If not," Morin said, putting his arms around the two women and smiling, "then I'm very sorry, but you'll have to excuse me!"

With that, Morin turned to leave.

However, just as Hobbs had said to Elena in the car, if they were in the U.S., he might not have been able to do anything to Morin, or he would have had to do a lot of preparation.

But they were in Rio, not the U.S., so Hobbs could use more direct methods that were not only allowed but also unlikely to be policed.

"Then I'm sorry, but I have to use force," Hobbs said, striding forward and reaching for Morin's shoulder, wanting to pin him down. "This isn't American soil, so your status and money are useless. Here, the person with the bigger fist is the one who's right!"

In the next second, the situation changed so fast it caught everyone by surprise.

Morin pushed the two women away, reacted quickly, and without even looking, grabbed Hobbs's hand and did an over-the-shoulder throw, sending Hobbs flying five or six meters away. The immense force caused Hobbs to land in a sandpit, halfway buried!

Not everyone's physical fitness is equal. Some people, when extremely angry, can slide tackle and kill a tiger. Morin, without any emotional fluctuations, could throw the two-hundred-pound Hobbs five or six meters away.

The only difference between them was that the person who slide tackled could have also raised the tiger, while Morin could throw Hobbs in such a way that he would be stunned and confused for a long time.

With a [Physical] of over 100, almost 200, and the system's bonus being all-encompassing, it meant that in terms of strength alone, Morin was almost twice as strong as a human at their physical peak. The same went for his speed, coordination, reaction time, defense, and recovery.

However, Morin was able to control his abilities very well, so normally, unless it was a necessary moment, he looked and acted like a normal muscular man.

But whenever he needed to…

With a physical strength almost twice that of a human at their peak, was it really that hard to throw a mere two-hundred-pound man?

For Morin, it did take some effort, but it wasn't that hard. It was completely doable!

Hobbs lay in the sandpit, completely dumbfounded.

He was questioning his reality.

"Who am I?" "Where am I?" "What happened?"

Hobbs hadn't fully processed what had happened, because from his perspective, he had just reached out to put his hand on Morin's shoulder, and then, his hand was grabbed. An immense force that he couldn't resist came through, and then… he just… flew?

What the hell?

Hobbs sat up, wiping the sand from his head and his carefully grown beard, which made him look a little funny.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. It was just a small mistake… but, Agent Hobbs, if I may be so bold, you might need to work out for a while. You're too light," Morin said, walking over to Hobbs and smiling. "I like that saying, 'The person with the bigger fist is the one who's right.'"

"Are you even human?" Hobbs finally came to his senses, looked up, and asked with a look of suspicion.

"I think…" Morin said, frowning and thinking for a moment. "Probably."

"Alright, that's enough talking for today. It's getting late, and my bonfire party is waiting for me," Morin said with a smile, standing up and walking away. "Agent Hobbs, I hope that next time, you'll think before you act. Otherwise… next time, I might not hold back."

"Stop!"

Elena's voice made Morin stop in his tracks.

"Are you serious?" Morin turned around to look at the woman pointing a gun at him.

He was suddenly a little intrigued and spoke in a cold, emotionless voice, with an equally blank expression. "You're playing with fire, woman."

"Ugh… never mind, that was too cringey. I'm not doing that," before Elena could even react, Morin continued.

"That domineering CEO style really doesn't suit me… I'll just stick to my original character… ahem, so, who are you? And why are you pointing a gun at me?"

This little show from Morin made Elena, who was originally so serious, relax a little.

After all, she couldn't help but feel that this man was a bit of a lunatic…

"You just assaulted a police officer in public!" Despite her thoughts, Elena spoke without hesitation. "We need you to come with us for questioning!"

"Is that so?" Morin said, raising an eyebrow. "Alright, that sounds like a legitimate reason, but do you think I'm a reasonable person, ma'am?"

"I don't need to think that you are, I just need you to be," Elena said, moving the gun in her hand. "The one with the bigger fist is the one who's right!"

"I agree completely with that statement, but I think I'm the one who should be saying it," Morin said with a smile.

"You have a gun, I have connections. Maybe we should let Agent Hobbs tell you if he really wants things to go on like this?"

"Of course not," Hobbs said, standing up and walking over to Elena. He shook his head and pushed her gun down slightly, then explained to her.

"We can't use a gun. He hasn't committed any crimes, his record is spotless, and he's wealthy and influential. This isn't a situation to make a mortal enemy."

If it was just about taking him to the station for a few days, his superior could easily cover for him.

But using a gun… there were people all around, and the other party was a wealthy and influential businessman with a clean record.

If he did this, even if Hobbs succeeded in his mission, his job would be gone, and he would have to face Morin's revenge.

It wasn't worth it. There was no need.

"But!" Elena's eyes were wide.

"There are no 'buts'," Hobbs said, shaking his head and waving his hand. He then walked over to Morin, stretched his body, and said, "Come on, let's fight again!"
