Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Monster

The meeting ended on a sour note. At least, from Reyes's perspective, it was a definite failure. But for Morin and Gisele, who was posing as his secretary...

"Wine glasses, napkins, a preliminary letter of intent..." Morin took a UV flashlight handed to him by a subordinate.

When he shone the light on the items, a series of palm prints immediately appeared.

These items had all been specially treated beforehand so that Reyes's palm prints would be left on every surface, and they were all clear enough.

"Left hand, right hand, there are several from each. Is this enough?" Morin shook the flashlight. Among the many palm prints, there were several that were complete and clear.

"That's more than enough," Gisele said with a look of delight.

...

The next day.

"I got the palm prints," Gisele said, returning to the abandoned factory around noon. She handed several vacuum-sealed bags containing the items with the palm prints to Tej.

"So, this is..." Tej took the pile of things and looked through them one by one. "Wine glasses, napkins... What's this? A preliminary letter of intent? What did you do? Did you go into business with Reyes?"

"No, I asked Morin for help. He talked business with Reyes," Gisele said, shining a UV lamp on the items so that the palm prints appeared. "So, the problem is solved... I'm a bit tired, I'm going to rest."

"I have a feeling it wasn't that simple," Roman said, squinting his eyes. He went to Tej's side and said in a low voice, watching Gisele walk away, "Did you notice?"

"Of course, I'm not blind. How could I not notice her obvious difficulty walking?" Tej said grumpily. "I can't believe that guy is so 'powerful'?"

"Which 'powerful' are you referring to?" Roman asked, his expression full of innuendo. The smile on his face could only be described as "lewd."

"Of course," Tej raised an eyebrow, wearing a similar smile to Roman. "That kind of powerful..."

Gisele, who was having some difficulty walking, returned to her room, lay down, and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

"He's a complete monster..." she mumbled in her sleep.

Meanwhile, Morin, looking refreshed, tossed a full memory card into his safe.

Last night, a certain person overestimated themselves, so he spent a bit of effort to successfully win them over and got a full memory card as a souvenir.

It wasn't that he had any special fetish; he just thought that in the future, he might meet the same person in different worlds.

It would be very interesting to show them this video or these photos then. For example, to show Wonder Woman how "she herself" had said that kind of armor was weird.

Maybe after their relationship got closer, they could look at other interesting things.

"Since they have the palm prints, they should be done soon, right?" Morin lay on his beach chair, his eyes narrowed in satisfaction. He started to guess what world he would open up next, what his next profession would be, and how high the bonus would be after his [Mechanic] profession reached the advanced level.

Time flew by.

Perhaps because of the "dumbing down" halo that main characters carry, or for some other reason, Toretto's crew successfully entered the police station and gave it a little "makeover."

Opening that safe inside the police station was impossible. With one hundred million dollars in cash, it would take half a day just to move it.

So, they were going to take the entire safe with them, perform a little switcheroo on the road, and then, after the safe was taken to a safe place, they would slowly divide the money.

But before doing all this, they needed to do a little preparation.

Although the cars Morin provided had enough horsepower to drag the ten-ton safe around, they couldn't guarantee that they could completely control the massive thing. Therefore, to prevent too many casualties, Morin made a suggestion.

"Control all the traffic lights in the city?" Tej shook his head. "That's a very difficult thing to do. There are two ways: one is to go to the control center, but how to control it in real-time and safely get away is definitely a problem. The second is to hack the system for remote control, but that requires very high-level hacking skills... I'm just an electrical engineer, not a hacker, and we don't have anyone who does that here."

"Don't worry, I wouldn't suggest it if it couldn't be done," Morin said, standing on the deck of a yacht and looking at the sunset over the horizon. "Leave this to me. Hacking a traffic control center is pretty easy to do."

Bored, Morin remembered the destruction that Toretto's crew caused later in their operation. He then called Toretto to make this suggestion. Although the movie didn't show any innocent bystanders getting "game over," Morin could easily imagine the massive casualties that such an operation could cause.

Planning the route and controlling the traffic lights would not only make the operation smoother but also prevent innocent people from getting caught up in it. Wouldn't that be a good thing?

"If that's the case, then that money is rightfully yours," Toretto said. "I know you don't need the money, but everything has to have a rule."

"Ah, I know that," Morin laughed. "Is O'Conner there?"

"Me?" O'Conner, who was nearby, was surprised.

"Yes," Morin said with a smile. "I heard that Toretto raced you and lost a million dollars to you?"

"Uh... yeah," O'Conner scratched his head. "I won it fair and square with my own skills!"

Although O'Conner also knew that Toretto had probably let him win, that didn't stop him from being a little stubborn, did it? Of course, everyone present smiled knowingly.

"Is that so? Well, let's just say it is," Morin didn't try to embarrass O'Conner. "Then, as a gift for Mia's baby, my share is all yours."

Giving away ten million dollars with a wave of his hand didn't make Morin hesitate or feel any heartache.

To him now, money was just paper, unless it was a type that could be counted toward his experience points, which he absolutely had to get his hands on.

"What about me, what about me?" Roman quickly jumped out. "Bro, you can't do this. Look, we've seen each other several times!"

"You..." Morin laughed heartily. "How about we race? If you win, you get ten million dollars. If you lose, you only have to give me five million dollars. How about it?"

"It's a deal?"

"It's a deal!"

"Alright!" After hanging up the phone, Roman jumped up excitedly. In his eyes, he was sure to win this ten million!

Although he knew that Morin was a very powerful mechanic... Morin was just a mechanic, what did he know about driving?

"This way, I can get twenty million!" Roman mumbled to himself.

"Heh heh..." Toretto looked at Roman and laughed gloatingly, then turned and left.

"What?" Roman was stunned.

"My condolences," O'Conner said, patting Roman on the shoulder with a look of sympathy.

"Wh-what do you mean?" Roman was completely baffled.

"Maybe I forgot to tell you earlier," O'Conner's expression was still very sympathetic. "Morin and Toretto have raced several times before, and the final result..."

"What was the final result? Don't tell me Morin can hold his own against Toretto?"

"Of course not."

"Phew... That's a relief."

"Morin is slightly better."
