Whether Reyes succeeded in salvaging the safe and if he suffered a heart attack after opening it was no longer a concern for anyone.
However, compared to being shot dead by an enraged Hobbs in the original story, this ending was certainly better for Reyes.
At least on the surface.
"So, we're not going to take revenge on Reyes? We're just going to let him get away with it?"
Roman, who was anxiously waiting for Tej to open the heavy safe, remembered this and blurted it out.
As soon as he said it, Roman saw all the others look at him. The looks... were like they were staring at an idiot. No, they were definitely staring at an idiot.
"Hey!" Roman was confused. "Why are you looking at me like that? Did I say something wrong?"
"Not just wrong, but completely wrong," O'Conner sighed. Roman was his best friend, so he couldn't just watch him make a fool of himself.
"In reality, Reyes in his current state is more miserable than if we had just killed him."
"Why?" Roman asked, puzzled.
"Because of that one hundred million dollars," O'Conner replied. "How much of that one hundred million belonged to Reyes?"
"Uh... didn't it all belong to him?" Roman was stunned.
"Even I can't just take out one hundred million dollars in cash," Morin, who was peeling an orange for Gisele, interjected. "Cash and the total ledger are two different concepts."
"Yes, and even if Reyes didn't save any money, a large part of that one hundred million didn't belong to him. It was the capital he needed for his business," O'Conner nodded.
"With that one hundred million taken away from us, it's going to be very difficult for him to do business in the short term."
"As a drug lord doing drug deals, everything is built on money. If he doesn't have money, who will still buy from him?" Toretto said, his arms crossed.
"Without money, he won't have any subordinates to follow him, and no government officials to protect him. The leverage he had on those officials when he was rich and powerful has now become a hot potato, because he no longer has the ability to protect himself."
"What's more, a large portion of that money must belong to other people," Morin concluded.
"Considering all these factors, even if we don't lay a hand on him, someone else will eventually. And his final fate will surely be more miserable than dying at our hands."
"Alright, all you conspirators and capitalists, can we stop talking about that almost-certainly-dead drug lord?"
Tej, who had been busy for a long time, finally found a chance to speak. "Instead of worrying about him, why don't we get excited about whether I can get this 'beauty's' skirt to open for me?"
The 'beauty' he was referring to was, of course, the giant safe containing one hundred million dollars.
"You can do it."
Finding an opportunity to escape the awkward situation where he didn't understand what everyone was talking about, Roman was very proactive and immediately jumped over to Tej.
"Open it, open it! There's one hundred million dollars in there!"
"Don't be in such a hurry, I'm about to open it," Tej waved Roman away. He then took the coated sheet with the recorded fingerprint, typed a few keys on his computer, and placed it on the fingerprint scanner. He took a deep breath, muttered "come on," and pressed down on it.
"Beep beep," two sounds that were especially clear and pleasant in the silent factory. Everyone's eyes were focused on the safe.
Green. A very healthy and pleasant color, especially when a indicator light flashed it.
Danza Kuduro Lucenzo El rey La mano arriba cintura sola Da media vuelta Danza Kuduro No me canses ahora que esto solo empieza...
A strangely fitting song suddenly started playing, startling everyone. They all looked in the direction of the sound.
"What are you all looking at me for? Although I'm very handsome, I think you'd rather be looking at that one hundred million dollars right now, wouldn't you?" Morin, who was playing
"Danza Kuduro" on a small speaker as background music, laughed. "Split the money! It's a hundred million!"
To the music, Tej smiled, shook his head, and opened the safe. His goddess had finally unveiled herself to him. The dollars, stuffed to the brim, poured out like a river.
Roman's eyes went wide. He stood in place, his brain frozen. Gisele subconsciously looked at Morin and found him smiling back at her. The two exchanged a smile.
Han stood quietly to the side, chewing his gum.
He glanced over and was so overwhelmed by the "display of affection" that he quickly looked away. He had originally had his eye on Gisele too, but Morin had made his move first. After comparing them, he had wisely chosen to give up.
Anyway, with ten million, would he still have trouble finding a beautiful girl?
O'Conner and Mia hugged each other. Toretto stood quietly, watching the scene, and smiled as he looked up at the sky. He was thinking of Letty. Morin noticed this and guessed what Toretto was thinking, but he didn't say anything.
Letty was Toretto's girlfriend who had died in an accident, at least according to what Toretto and the others believed.
But Morin knew that she hadn't actually died. She had been rescued by a villainous organization but had lost her memory and was now working for them.
Morin had been investigating this but hadn't found anything, so he decided to wait until Fast & Furious 6 to help out. Before that...
Morin was stunned for a moment, remembering something. Toretto had apparently hooked up with the police officer Elena later on?
Hmm... in the future, when Letty regained her memory, there was a love triangle showdown. Aha!
This made Morin even less likely to tell Toretto about this. A love triangle was a memorable scene too!
"Split the money, split the money," Roman yelled, "Woohoo!" and rushed forward. "I'm rich, I'm rich!!!"
"Not so fast," Morin said, shaking his head. "We still have to transport this money... are you planning on taking it yourself? Without the right channels, it's very difficult to move this money."
"Good point..." Roman thought about it seriously. "But that doesn't stop me from enjoying my ten million right now!"
"Ten million?" Morin raised an eyebrow.
"Isn't it?" Roman's eyes went wide. "Don't tell me you're going to kill me and take the money? I see, I've figured you out, you're obviously..."
"Are you forgetting something?" Morin interrupted the drama queen. "About a bet, a five-million-dollar racing bet. We still haven't fulfilled that..."
"..." Roman was stunned. He looked down at the pile of money he was holding. For some reason, an illusion of half of it flying away suddenly appeared before his eyes.
"No!!!" Roman's tragic wail echoed through the factory. Everyone burst into laughter and started to jeer, wanting to see how Roman was going to "win for sure" against Morin.
