Larissa's POV
I walked alongside Carson toward the front entrance, wondering who could possibly be visiting us. We had just arrived at the sprawling estate, and I certainly wasn't expecting anyone.
The heavy wooden doors opened before we could reach them, revealing an expensive black sedan parked in the pristine circular drive.
Ella emerged from the vehicle, her appearance flawless as always. She wore an impeccably tailored ivory suit that probably cost more than most people's monthly salary. Every strand of her blonde hair was secured in an elegant updo, untouched by the afternoon breeze. She looked ready for a corporate takeover rather than a neighborly visit.
"Carson! Larissa!" Her voice carried across the courtyard as she approached with calculated grace. Her smile was magazine-perfect, though her eyes remained cold as winter steel. "I heard you were settling in today and simply had to come see how you were managing."
