Chapter 3 - Chapter three: The Shadow

slipping Onto the present time:

where Now they both have their own battles to fight, they have secrets to unfold ...

Alara's POV:

 when I move downstairs for breakfast, the banquet table, built for twenty, becomes a monument of emptiness where I sat by myself each day, drowning into my thoughts, I feel someone's hand on my shoulder, I flinched and look back, one of the castle's servant was there,

The servant said, " my lady, his Majesty is asking for you in the great hall".I asked myself if it was about my another failed attempt to escape,

then I said to the servant, "He could have talked to me over breakfast, but tell him I'll come later".

After uncovering the truth of who I really am, I can barely keep myself from shifting. The hunger of the hunt gnaws at me, yet I resist. I am an Alpha—the last of my bloodline. when I returned to the silver den where once my father ruled and my mother's voice filled the halls, me and my sister Abyra used to play, is now swallowed by the silence that feels too loud, an scrumptious smell breaking through my thoughts awake me, I sense that it's coming from the kitchen, I saw old master cooking a feast for me again, ever since he find out I'm an alpha, he always seen in the kitchen, and whenever I asked him why he's doing so much effort, he always give this lecture, "that eating the heart of your prey under the blood moon will keep the alpha bloodline awakened, while normal werewolf's would be poisoned or weakened by it". old master is so kind towards me, he found me when I was hiding in my own den's abondon part, I was scared, starved and lonely, he took me in and poured all his youth into me, and raised me as his own... so now whenever I saw him doing work for me I always asked him to rest because now his age doesn't support him well...

~~~~~~~
The great hall stretched wide and cold, every word my father spoke seemed to linger, echoing against the royal stone walls. As the king spoke,
he said, " daughter I understand your desire to see the outside world but you must understand the chains of duty that bind me".
just like everytime I agree like a great daughter only to escape again with a nice plan... every night I wander in the great halls of this stone sanctuary wrapped in silence, as usual I was walking here and there, when I saw someone's shadow in my mother's old room, where now all her belongings are kept saved, in silence I follow it only to find something something beyond my imagi
nation!!!
