"Should I choose for you?" Kai's voice was low, his gaze fixed on her with unnerving precision—like he was reading something written only for him.
Hana's breath caught. Her instinct was to deflect, but something about the way he waited—still, expectant—pulled the answer out of her. "…Yes. Please."
Kai sifted through the crystal bottles as though they held more than fragrances—memories, perhaps. At last, his hand closed around one. He passed it to the maid with quiet authority. "Rose and oud. Use this."
The warm oil filled the room, rich and intoxicating. Hana shut her eyes as delicate hands traced the soothing ritual across her skin. She fought to stay composed, but her body betrayed her—every stroke unraveling her defenses until she nearly melted into the chair.
When it ended, the maids slipped soft slippers onto her feet. Hana glanced sideways at Kai—and realization struck hard. This wasn't just pampering. This was his world. And somehow, she was being drawn into it.
"This is so cute," Nari giggled, shattering the charged silence.
Hana shot her a glare and bolted upright, as if standing could shake off the intimacy clinging to her.
Kai rose too, smooth as water, sliding his phone into his pocket. "You two can use the room. I'll freshen up elsewhere."
"Okay," Hana replied quickly, clutching the bag Nari had brought like a shield.
Nari leaned toward him, her grin wicked. "Bye, brother-in-law."
Kai ignored the jab, but his voice softened when directed at Hana. "Don't forget—you'll need to try on the gowns soon."
"Alright," she muttered, too aware of how warm her ears felt. "Just… let me know when the planners arrive."
With a faint nod, he stepped aside.
The moment the girls climbed the stairs, Nari leaned in, whispering with zero shame, "So… did you two sleep together?"
Hana nearly tripped over the next step. "What?!" she hissed, face flaming. She swatted her friend's arm. "Shut up!"
"Ohhh, but the matching pajamas don't lie," Nari sang, grinning ear to ear.
"Nari!" Hana's voice cracked, her blush burning brighter as they reached the landing. "It's not like that!"
But behind them, unseen, Kai's lips curved into the faintest smile.
Because unlike Hana—he remembered the truth.
The warmth of her arms wrapped around him all night wasn't something he intended to forget.
