Chapter 17 - Tamayo

Bonus Chapter for getting this story to 80 PS

———————————————————-

I hate walking. I can't remember the last time I put in more than a mile on foot since I figured out teleportation. Problem is, I don't know where Tamayo's hideout is, so for now it's Lamborfeeties™ and actual cardio.

It was nice though, strolling through the woods as if I was just out for a hike. No demons came to try and attack me, I think Muzan is telling them to keep a wide berth.

I know I scared that fucker real good when he tried to do his bullshit with the Kamado family…

'Wonder how he's doing?'

[Scene Break] (POV Shift)

He let out an angry roar and sliced through Nakime who remained still and didn't make a sound. He had repeated this several times now in rage.

He had tasked her with finding that strange demon but for some reason her blood demon art was not working. She couldn't find him no matter how hard she looked and it was beginning to really get on his nerves.

Muzan hid the shudder that crawled down his spine when he remembered that demon sneering down at him as if he, the Demon King, was just a pest.

That demons ability would have been extremely useful had he been a part of the Twelve Kizuki. Unfortunately Muzan couldn't sense him, either that demon wasn't a demon at all, or he had found a way to hide from Muzan's view.

"Nakime… summon the Kizuki, NOW!"

[Scene Break] (POV Return)

'Meh… who cares, he's probably throwing a tantrum, I couldn't care less, I'm more worried about getting that kiss soon.'

I kicked a loose rock out of the faded trail, it shot off and nailed a tree trunk with a loud TOK as it imbedded itself in the wood.

'Muzan is a non issue at this point, once I talk with Tamayo I'll figure out how and when to deal with the moons then all I have to worry about are the two world wars.'

I tucked my hands in my pockets and glanced at the cat that was walking at a very sedate pace.

"Hey, Neko-chan… can you hurry the fuck up… I'm trying to get a kiss from my girlfriend and you're taking your sweet ass time."

"Mroooow." The cat yowled.

"Shut it… hurry up or I'll embrace a stereotype and fucking eat you."

The cat hissed before dashing away, I grinned. "That more like it, pick up the pace!"

We reached a nondescript village just as the sun was sinking down towards the horizon. I vaguely remembered seeing this place in the anime. I glanced around and looked for anything that screamed 'secret demon hide out'.

'Nothing… this guys blood demon arts is really useful for hiding shit. With Jujutsu Kaisen techniques, I could probably asspull my own barriers by flinging enough CE around.'

The cat eventually led me to what seemed like a dead end. There was a village nearby, I could hear the bustle of people going about their days.

Then the cat jumped and vanished into thin air. I hummed, looking at the spot where the calico cat vanished. I extended my Limitless barrier and saw the air ripple.

'Hmm, there really is an invisible barrier.'

Shrugging to myself I stuck my hand through, when I felt nothing wrong I stepped the rest of the way through and glanced around the small courtyard that had appeared around me.

I turned around and looked back the way I came. The trees were still there, along with the path that led to the home.

No one greeted me at my arrival, no one was in sight for that matter. The sun was still out so I figured they were probably just hiding indoors.

The calico cat sat by the sliding door, I followed it into the home leaving my shoes by the door.

Inside in a modestly sized room lit up with lanterns was a young boy standing protectively in front of a woman. The boy in plain robes looked at me like I just pissed in his rice bowl.

"You- stop right there!" He threw his arms wide as if he could actually stop me.

I tilted my head, glancing at him over my shades. The woman gently patted his shoulder.

"It's okay Yushiro, he's the one we're waiting for."

"L-lady Tamayo…" he bowed and stepped aside.

"Pfft… fucking simp." I giggled while pointing a finger at him.

"What did you say! You dare insult Lady Tamayo?!"

I rolled my eyes not that they could see them behind my glasses, "Oh great… one of those."

"Yushiro…" Tamayo spoke again, gently but firm, "that's enough."

"But Lady Tamayo…" he stopped talking the second she glanced at him.

Yushiro stepped away and stood at the side of the room, still glaring at me, still clenching his fists, but much more reserved.

"Please…" Tamayo beckoned, "sit, I have heard much about you. The Wandering Hashira, the strongest, the—

"Okay okay… enough glazing, you must be Tamayo right? What did you need?" I cut right to the chase.

"You're just as impatient as Ubuyashiki Kagaya said you were." Tamayo hummed.

"Yeah well, I've got other things to do. Like try and get a kiss from my maybe girlfriend."

I could practically hear Yushiro gritting his teeth, I could see him glaring daggers at me from the corner of my eyes.

Tamayo folded her hands neatly on her lap, she glanced at Yushiro and gently spoke.

"Yushiro, could you bring us some tea?"

Yushiro hesitated for a moment but eventually disappeared to go do what Tamayo told him to do. The ancient demon stared at me from across the tea table. Her eyes glinted with a searching light.

"Before we get to why I have asked you to come here, I'd like to share a story with you… something you may find… interesting."

I raised an eyebrow, "If this turns out to be some bedtime story I'm out… I'm not one for fairytales."

A smirk formed on her face, "No fairytales, no… consider this, a history lesson," Yashiro came back and served tea, Tamayo sipped her tea before continuing, "hundreds of years ago, there existed a man, more of a demon than Muzan could ever be."

I grabbed my tea and drained it in one go, 'I really don't like where this is going.'

"This man was so powerful that it took the combined efforts of Abe no Seimei and the three great sorcerer clans of Japan to finally vanquish him completely. His name… the calamity that dwarfed Muzan's own legend, Ryomen Sukuna."

The tea cup shattered in my hand, tattoos blazed to life down my arms and my face. Four eyes glared at Tamayo as she continued to sip her tea as if she didn't just slap me with the craziest lore drop.

"Who are you?" I narrowed my eyes at her, cursed energy bubbled beneath my skin, ready to turn her into a red mist.

"I'm not your enemy Satoru-san." She looked my way without any fear, "I can see that this name is familiar to you, this Ryomen Sukuna."

I grit my teeth, my transformation fading as I calmed down. "What of it?"

"Sukuna was no demon… his true name was lost to the ages. I have read Abe no Seimei's records of that last battle. Ryomen Sukuna was a cursed calamity made flesh."

"Why are you telling me this?" I frowned.

"Because I believe your existence will change this world again," Tamayo set down her cup, "back then, the three great clans, banded together with Abe no Seimei to defeat Sukuna. Though it came at a great cost, Sukuna was killed."

She took a deep breath before continuing, "With Sukuna's death, the energy he wielded vanished from the world. The death of the three great clans also factored into its disappearance."

"The clans died?" I asked.

"Their very bloodlines were wiped out with Sukuna's last attack. Abe no Seimei recorded much of the final battle."

"Then why doesn't Muzan know about this if it's been recorded?"

Tamayo smirked, "Muzan is many things, but a believer of the supernatural he is not. His power was the result of medical sciences. He believes that only the sciences can give him answers. I brought this information to him centuries ago but he called Abe no Seimei a charlatan and the three great class records as human fabrications."

I chuckled, "So Muzan doesn't take me seriously because he can't figure me out through a science experiment?"

Tamayo shook her head, "He still sees you as a threat, he will do everything he can to kill you."

Tamayo went on to explain how she theorised that even though cursed energy atrophied in the world, that some people had just enough to make a difference.

She theorised that Yoriichi Tsugikuni had enough that it made him stronger, and even allowed him to have unique abilities that let him fight demons.

To me it sounded a lot more like a Heavenly Restriction.

My mind was still reeling from the lore I had been hit with. Sukuna being real, the three clans being dead and gone, my existence possibly ushering in a resurgence in cursed energy. It all felt surreal, like I was in a fever dream.

I compartmentalised everything I had learned. It was all just a theory anyways. I was still an anomaly to Tamayo. Sukuna existed but was killed, the three clans are gone, and I was the only one with cursed energy.

There was no guarantee that Cursed Energy as a whole would ever make a comeback for everyone else. I hoped it would stay that way, the glorified vampires were already a handful.

Tamayo eventually got to why she had called for me. She had a working idea for two potions. One to poison the ever loving fuck out of Muzan, and the other to cure demons and turn them back to being human.

She asked for my help in both cases and I readily agreed on the terms that she bring me more information about cursed energy, Sukuna, or the three clans.

With that, I got ready to leave her hideout. I was on my way out of the door when I heard multiple footsteps.

"Tamayo… you have some guests." I called back to her.

I saw her tense, Yushiro stood defensively in front of her. I glanced at the two uninvited visitors behind my sunglasses. A woman with six arms and a guy trying to hide in a tree.

A grin formed on my face, "Good… I have some stress I need to deal with, and you fucks just volunteered to help."

Susamaru and Yahaba had just arrived.
