The journey through the Calm Belt was an unnerving, surreal experience. The sea, usually a wild and unpredictable beast, was as flat and still as a pane of glass, its silence broken only by the occasional, terrifying roar of a Sea King rising from the depths to inspect their fleet. The gargantuan monsters would eye their ships, then seem to notice the sheer, concentrated willpower emanating from the Moby Dick and sink back into the abyss, deciding it wasn't worth the trouble.
For the Whitebeard Pirates, it was a much-needed reprieve. The fleet had become a floating hospital, a sanctuary where the wounded were tended to and the dead were given their final rites. The war was over, but its ghosts lingered in the haunted eyes of every crewmate.
Ace was the unwavering pillar in the center of this storm of grief and uncertainty. He moved with a purpose that defied his own exhaustion, overseeing repairs, consulting with the medical staff, and giving orders with a calm, quiet authority that soothed the frayed nerves of the crew. He was no longer just their brother; he was the acting captain, and the weight of his father's crown was heavier than any mountain.
His nights were spent in quiet vigil between two beds. One held the massive, broken form of his father, whose life was being sustained by a web of IV drips and the tireless efforts of the nurses. The other held his brother, Luffy, who had been brought aboard from Jinbe's ship and was lost in a deep, coma, his body fighting a war against itself.
"He's a stubborn one," Marco commented one evening, standing beside Ace as they looked over the sleeping Luffy. "Burning through a decade of his lifespan with those hormone treatments... only an idiot with 'D' in their name would do something so reckless."
"He's one of them" Ace replied, a fond, tired smile touching his lips. He gently placed a cool, damp cloth on Luffy's forehead.
It was on the third day of their solemn voyage that the world intruded. A news coo, looking utterly terrified to be in the Calm Belt, dropped a bundle of new bounty posters on the deck and fled as if its life depended on it.
A hushed, excited murmur rippled through the crew as the posters were unfurled. Then, a single pirate let out a low whistle that cut through the silence. "Holy... Commander Ace, you need to see this."
Ace walked over, and the pirates parted for him like the sea. There, on a freshly printed poster, was his own face, captured in the split second he had shattered Akainu's magma fist. The image was a perfect blend of cold fury and absolute power. But it was the number at the bottom that made his breath catch in his throat.
DEAD OR ALIVE: Gol D. ACE - Flame Calamity - 2,550,000,000 BERRIES
The number was astronomical. It was a bounty that put him firmly in the same legendary tier as the Emperors themselves. It was the World Government's terrified, screaming admission of his new status as a global threat.
"Two and a half billion..." Vista muttered, his eyes wide. "They've put you on the same level as Shanks, Still Shanks have more in current time."
Ace stared at the poster, his expression unreadable. Then, a dry, sarcastic chuckle escaped his lips. "Well, that's going to make it hard to get a discount at the local tavern," he said. He tossed the poster aside. "It's just a number. It doesn't mean a thing if we can't get Pops and Luffy healthy."
His nonchalance was a stabilizing force for the crew, but inwardly, he felt the crushing weight of that number. It was a crown, a target, and a death sentence all rolled into one.
Finally, the misty, dream-like silhouette of an island appeared on the horizon. Amazon Lily. Ace ordered the fleet to anchor in a secluded bay, and with Marco, Jinbe, and a small medical team, he went ashore to negotiate their sanctuary. The meeting with the Pirate Empress was tense, but the presence of Luffy, her clear weakness, was the ultimate bargaining chip. Sanctuary was granted, under the strict condition that the rest of the crew remain on the ships.
The weeks that followed were a crucible of recovery and reinvention. While Whitebeard and Luffy were cared for in the Kuja's infirmary, Ace began his own relentless training regimen. He had some time before Rayleigh would come and he wouldn't waste a second.
His days were a blur of brutal physical conditioning. He would do thousands of push-ups, his muscles screaming, then run laps around the Moby Dick until his lungs burned. He needed to build a body that could withstand the strain of his own Haki and fruit.
His afternoons were for his Devil Fruit. He had the power, but he lacked the finesse. Drawing on the memories of his past life, of stories about ninjas in naruto anime and their swirling balls of energy, he began a new kind of practice. He would hold his palm out, summoning a simple ball of fire. Then, he would focus, pouring his will into it, forcing the flames to rotate. At first, it was a chaotic, sputtering mess. But after weeks of relentless practice, it began to take shape. The fire compressed, rotating at an impossible speed, creating a small, perfectly spherical orb of condensed plasma that emitted a high-pitched, humming shriek. He hadn't given it a name yet, but the destructive potential was terrifying.
His evenings were for flight. He knew Marco could fly, a perfect regeneration of wings. But Ace's power was different. It was combustion. Propulsion. He thought of old marvel comic books, of iron men in suits of iron. He would stand at the prow of the ship, concentrating, and unleash controlled bursts of fire from his feet. The first attempts sent him pinwheeling into the ocean, much to the amusement of the watching crew. But he was a prodigy. He learned quickly. He learned to sustain the thrust, to angle it, to find a point of balance.
One evening, as the sun set, he finally succeeded. Two massive constructs of pure, controlled plasma erupted from his back, not as feathered wings, but as sleek, powerful thrusters of blue-white fire. He pushed off, and with a sound like a contained rocket engine, he shot into the sky, hovering a hundred feet above the deck. He wasn't just flying. He was a weapon.
He looked down at his fleet, at the island that held his recuperating family, and out at the vast, open sea. The world had branded him as evil, a king. But up here, in the quiet of the sky, he was just a man with a promise to keep. And he would be ready.

Hey everyone! As you know
Now that he will be captain of a Yonko crew, he's going to make moves that will shake the world—and that means bringing in some heavy hitters.
Who are some powerful, unexpected allies or even former enemies that Ace could recruit into the Whitebeard Pirates( Also as he will be now a captian it will be named again)? Think big! Supernovas, former Warlords, powerful figures from Wano, characters who were wronged by the World Government... Who could he bring into the fold to really make the Marines sweat?
I have a few surprising recruits in mind, but I'm curious to hear your most audacious ideas. Let me know!
