===========================================================

The name "Burning Crown Pirates" settled over the crew not like a command, but like a promise. It was a declaration of rebirth, a new flag for a new era, and it lit a fire in the weary souls of the Whitebeard remnants.

Following a lead from Marco's intelligence network, Ace traveled alone on a small, fast ship to the lawless New World island of "Last Call." When he arrived, the island was a portrait of fear. Blackbeard's monstrous three-skulled flag hung from every building. In the center of the main plaza stood Avalo Pizarro, the 'Corrupt King', lounging on a makeshift throne of broken casino tables, laughing as his men terrorized the locals.

From the shadows of a nearby tavern, a single figure watched with lazy indifference. A tall man in traveler's clothes, a pack on his back. Kuzan.

Ace didn't wait. He didn't hide. He walked directly into the center of the plaza, his footsteps echoing in the tense silence. The pirates turned, their laughter dying in their throats. Pizarro's eyes, narrowed into cat-like slits, fixed on him.

"Well, well," Pizarro purred, a wide, vicious grin spreading across his face. "If it isn't the dead man, Portgas D. Ace. Nyahaha! Come to beg for your father's old territory back?"

"No," Ace said, his voice calm and cold. "I've just come to take out the trash."

The sheer, condescending disrespect was absolute. Pizarro let out a roar of fury and lunged from his throne, his massive drill-hands spinning. "I'll tear you to shreds, you arrogant brat!"

Ace didn't move. He simply raised his right hand, palm open. He had spent weeks on Amazon Lily perfecting this. He focused, his Haki pouring into the flames, forcing them to compress and rotate. A small, perfectly spherical orb of blue-white fire, humming with a terrifying, high-pitched shriek, formed in his palm.

"Rasengan: Nova," he said, the name a quiet whisper of death.

He met Pizarro's charge head-on. The Corrupt King, a man with a bounty of nearly a billion berries, saw the small ball of fire and laughed, thinking it was a pathetic parlor trick. He thrust his massive drill forward to impale Ace.

Ace didn't dodge. He simply pushed the Nova into the spinning drill.

The result was not an explosion. It was an annihilation. The super-condensed plasma didn't just counter the drill; it unmade it. The metal vaporized on contact. The Nova continued forward, consuming Pizarro's arm, his shoulder, and then the entire upper-left quadrant of his torso in a silent, searing flash of blue-white light.

Pizarro's charge stopped. His eyes were wide with a shock that had not yet registered as pain. He looked down at the gaping, cauterized hole where a quarter of his body used to be. Then, his massive frame swayed and collapsed to the ground, a dead, smoking ruin.

Ace stood over the body, his hand still outstretched, the Nova having dissipated into a harmless wisp of steam. The remaining Blackbeard pirates stared in pure, abject terror, then turned and fled, screaming.

From the shadows, Kuzan finally emerged, a low whistle escaping his lips. "Ara ra... now that's a nasty little trick. You've gotten stronger."

"I had to," Ace replied, turning to face the former Admiral. "Men like him are running wild now."

"So you came all this way to clean up one island?" Kuzan asked, a lazy smile on his face, though his eyes were sharp and assessing. "Or did you come for me?"

"I came to offer you a purpose," Ace said, his expression serious. "A third option."

Kuzan just chuckled. "That's a pretty . But I'm not a pirate. Why should I trust you?"

"You shouldn't," Ace said. He shifted his stance, his hand dropping to the hilt of the sword at his hip. "So how about we skip the trust exercises and get straight to the point?"

Kuzan's lazy smile widened. "I was hoping you'd say that."

The temperature in the plaza plummeted. A wave of absolute cold, a creeping frost, spread from Kuzan's feet. In response, a shimmering aura of intense heat radiated from Ace, melting the frost before it could touch him.

"ICE AGE!" Kuzan slammed his hand on the ground, and a colossal, jagged glacier erupted towards Ace.

Ace drew his sword, the blade glowing with a faint, golden light. He didn't use a grand technique. He simply met the glacier with a single, clean, upward slash. A wave of pure, golden Conqueror's Haki shot from the blade, not cutting the ice, but sublimating it, turning the entire glacier directly into a harmless cloud of mist with a deafening hiss.

The two men stood in the center of the self-made fog, their powers in a perfect, beautiful stalemate.

"Your Conqueror's Haki is stronger than before" Kuzan stated, his voice now devoid of its earlier laziness.

"And you have the will of a true master," Ace replied, his own expression one of profound respect. The clash had told him everything he needed to know.

He sheathed his sword. The heat receded. "I know about Ohara," Ace said softly. "I know about your friend, Saul. And I know that his will—the will to protect history, to protect the future—is something you still carry. Teach is a force that consumes history. He's the greatest threat to that will. I'm not asking you to be a pirate; I'm asking you to be the man Saul believed you were."

The words struck the former Admiral like a physical blow. Ace's knowledge was impossible. It was a secret buried under two decades of pain and regret.

Kuzan was silent for a long, heavy moment. Then, he looked up, and a slow, grim smile touched his lips. "You really are more dangerous than the papers say," he mused. "You're right about Saul. About his will. But you're wrong about one thing."

Ace raised an eyebrow. "What's that?"

"I didn't come to this island to watch a pig like Pizarro," Kuzan said, his lazy demeanor gone, replaced by a strange, somber gravity. "I came here because my sources told me you were coming. I was waiting for you."

The revelation stunned Ace into silence and unease.

"Leaving the Marines... it makes a man reflective," Kuzan continued, his voice a low, confidential whisper. "And it earns you a few unexpected visitors. I got one, a few weeks back. An old friend who brought me a bottle of fine whiskey and a very heavy request."

He looked Ace dead in the eye, his expression now one of profound, world-weary resolve. "He said he was a failure as a grandfather. Said he was bound by his 'justice' and couldn't protect his own damn family. But he knew a man who had just thrown his own justice away, a man who was now free to do what was right."

Ace's eyes widened, his heart hammering against his ribs. Gramps.

"He told me, 'My grandsons are fools who are going to get themselves killed. I can't be there to stop them. So you'll have to do it for me, Kuzan'," the former Admiral recited, a faint, fond smile on his face. "Garp has always been... very persuasive."

The twist was so unexpected, so deeply personal, that it left Ace speechless. His grandfather, the man who had hunted his father and condemned his own existence, had been working from the shadows to protect him all along.

Kuzan let out a long sigh, a cloud of frost in the suddenly warm air. It was the sound of a man finally accepting a burden he had taken on for an old friend.

"Alright, Captain of the Burning crown Pirates," he said, the title feeling strange but fitting on his tongue. "I'll be your ally. I have a promise to keep to an old Marine hero. Let's go hunt a some devils... for the sake of the world's most troublesome family."

(A/N: As Ace is now alive some butterfly effect were created and grap visited kuzan before he could leave)
