===========================================================

Flight was freedom.

For six months, Ace had been grounded, humbled, and reforged in the crucible of Rusukaina. Now, soaring through the endless blue sky, he felt a sense of liberation that was intoxicating. The Phoenix Wings, constructs of pure, blue-white plasma, responded to his every thought, propelling him across the Calm Belt at a speed that would rival the Jet, Marco's own legendary phoenix form. This wasn't just a technique; it was a statement. The son of the Pirate King was no longer chained to the earth.

He flew for a day and a night, a fiery comet charting a course from memory and instinct, finally crossing the Red Line and entering the tumultuous waters of the New World. He found them hiding in the shadow of a nameless, storm-shrouded island in a forgotten corner of their former territory. The fleet was battered, scarred, but intact. The Moby Dick, the heart of their family, was anchored in the center, a wounded but still proud queen.

His arrival was not quiet. He descended from the sky like a falling star, landing softly on the deck of the flagship with a whisper of dissipating flame. The pirates on watch stared, their jaws agape, before one finally found his voice.

"IT'S ACE! COMMANDER ACE IS BACK!"

The ship erupted. Crew members poured from below deck, their weary, grief-stricken faces transforming into masks of pure joy. They swarmed him, a tidal wave of cheers and tears and back-pats. He was no longer just their commander; he was their hope.

Marco was the first of the commanders to reach him, a wide, relieved grin on his face. "Six months to the day. You always did have a flair for the dramatic, yoi."

"I learned from the best," Ace grinned back, pulling his brother into a fierce hug.

The reunion was cut short. A grim-faced Jozu and a somber Vista joined them. The joy of his return could not erase the harsh reality of their situation. They quickly convened in the captain's quarters, which had been left untouched, a silent, solemn memorial to the man who still slept in the ship's infirmary.

"Talk to me," Ace said, his voice now devoid of its earlier lightness. The king had returned, and it was time to assess his territory.

Marco sighed, the weight of the past six months settling back onto his shoulders. "It's been chaos, Ace. The moment the world knew Pops was down, the sharks started circling."

He began the grim debrief. "First, the Marines. As you predicted, the news of your true heritage and Teach's lineage threw them into a panic. Sengoku couldn't contain the fallout. He stepped down as Fleet Admiral about a month ago. Took all the blame for the war's outcome."

"And Garp?" Ace asked, though he already knew the answer.

"Retired from the front lines," Marco confirmed. "He's training the next generation now. Apparently, he's taken that pink-haired boy who stood up to Akainu under his wing. A good man, your grandfather. Stubborn as a mule, but a good man."

Ace's mind briefly flashed with an image of grap, frozen and broken by kuzan. but Its was a problem for another time. "And the Fleet Admiral's seat?"

Marco's expression darkened. "That's where things got ugly. It was between Sakazuki and Kuzan. Their 'justice' was incompatible. They couldn't resolve it with words, so they settled it like pirates." He paused, the words heavy. "They had a duel. Ten days. Ten nights. On a forgotten island in the New World. In the end, Sakazuki won. He's the new Fleet Admiral."

Ace feigned a look of shock, though his mind was racing. So it had happened. "And Kuzan?"

"He lost a leg," Marco said, his voice low. "And his pride. He refused to serve under Sakazuki. He left the Marines. Just… vanished. No one's seen him since."

Perfect, Ace thought, a cold, calculating part of his mind fitting the pieces into place. The most powerful free agent in the world is now wandering, disillusioned and alone.

"And what about Teach?" Ace's voice was cold steel.

"He's made his move," Marco said, his fists clenching. "He knows all of Pops's old territories. He and his crew have been rampaging through them, using his devil fruit powers to take island after island. He captured one of the Supernovas, Jewelry Bonney, and tried to trade her to the Marines and world government, but Sakazuki showed up little late and she escaped in the chaos. He's also an Emperor now, Ace. In all but name. He sits on our father's throne."

Ace listened, his face a mask of stone, but a cold fire was burning in his eyes. He had known this would happen. He had known, and he had been powerless to stop it. But not anymore.

He stood up, the silence in the room thick with anger and despair. He walked to the window, looking out at his battered, weary family.

"For six months," he said, his voice quiet but ringing with a new, absolute authority, "we have been hiding. We have been grieving. We have been healing."

He turned back to face his commanders, his eyes blazing. "That time is over."

A powerful, controlled aura of Conqueror's Haki washed over the room, not as an attack, but as a declaration. It was the whisper of a true master.

"We are the Whitebeard Pirates. This is our sea. He sits on our throne. He rules over our islands." A slow, dangerous grin spread across his face. "It's time we went and took back what's ours."

The commanders stared, their spirits ignited by the sheer, unshakeable confidence of their leader. This was the king they had been waiting for.

"What's the plan, Ace?" Marco asked, a new fire in his own eyes. "Do we attack him head-on? Reclaim the territories?"

"No," Ace said, his grin turning cunning. "Our first move won't be to attack our weakest point. It will be to fortify our greatest strength." He looked at Marco, his eyes glinting with an idea so audacious, so utterly insane, that it took his First Commander's breath away.

"Blackbeard stole a brother from us," Ace declared. "and we're going to steal an Admiral from the world. Marco... find me Aokiji."
