Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Emiya Feels His Kidneys Have Been Hollowed Out

Silver Wolf pulled up the surveillance footage of Emiya's battle.

Slowing it down a hundred times and watching repeatedly, she discovered that Emiya's weapons weren't taken out from some alternate space but were more like objects conjured out of thin air.

This ability to manufacture weapons not only activated at incredible speed but also produced items whose power could not be underestimated.

The arrows he created could explode and directly destroy robots. Those two short swords had even left a tiny notch on Blade's weapon.

Even more astonishing, the weapons would dissipate into thin air shortly after leaving Emiya's hands, as if they had never existed.

The only exception was the last pair of short swords Emiya had created. Whether it was because their master had been knocked unconscious or for some other reason, they lingered for over ten minutes before slowly vanishing.

Using that window of time, Silver Wolf finally managed to collect some of the energy contained within the weapons.

This strange energy had never been recorded in any documents and very likely didn't even belong to this universe.

But just as Silver Wolf was about to summon more specialized scientists to analyze it, that peculiar energy suddenly disappeared into nothing, just like the weapons that had been created, without leaving the slightest trace of ever having existed.

"I'm quite interested in your cat food cans, but unfortunately, I've already used up my ability. I can only use it again next month." Emiya wasn't about to risk letting Silver Wolf examine him.

From all the signs, it was clear this little girl had extremely advanced technological skills, and she could even teleport people long distances in an instant. Emiya couldn't imagine how he would ever track down her real body, let alone kill her.

If Emiya accidentally left behind some crucial data and the girl took it back for long-term research, she might eventually uncover something. And that would also greatly increase the chance of drawing the attention of an Aeon.

"Hmph, you perverted lecher, don't think that staying silent means I can't deal with you! You brought this punishment on yourself!"

Seeing Emiya looking stubborn and ready to resist to the end, Silver Wolf couldn't be bothered to keep persuading him.

From the earlier tests she already knew, almost all poisons and mental manipulation were ineffective against him. Trying to torture this man into talking would just be a waste of time.

Silver Wolf snapped her fingers. A group of humanoid robots immediately rushed in, carrying all sorts of detection equipment. Clearly, she had expected this result from the start.

The examinations lasted for a full six hours. Silver Wolf practically collected data on every organ inside Emiya's body.

His kidneys, in particular, received "special attention", Silver Wolf personally jabbed them several times with a huge needle.

Knowing resistance was pointless, Emiya completely gave up, not saying a word the whole time, letting them do as they pleased like a dead pig lying for slaughter.

"You guys did this kind of thing to Vera too?" Emiya asked casually, as if in passing.

"Since you've been so cooperative, I'll tell you as a reward." Silver Wolf playfully winked.

"Kafka couldn't fully control your daughter. We're planning to return to base and let the boss examine her personally before deciding what to do with her."

"Deal with...?"

Hearing that word, Emiya's eyes narrowed dangerously. For the first time, he lifted his head to observe Silver Wolf carefully.

The look in his eyes was so aggressive that, even though Silver Wolf was far away on Punklorde, she couldn't help but shiver.

"Tsk tsk, not only did you peep on Kafka, now you've got your eye on a little girl like me too. Truly worthy of being called the lecher who conquered Acheron!"

Before leaving, Silver Wolf raised her little hand and slapped Emiya across the face again. "Alright, my grudge is settled. Now let's bring on the main act!"

As her words fell, Silver Wolf pushed the door open and left. Kafka appeared in high heels, holding a black leather whip, dazzling as she entered.

At the same time, the shackles binding Emiya shifted form. They stripped off the clothes from his upper body, bound him tightly, and hoisted him into the air.

Snap! Snap! Snap! As soon as she walked in, Kafka's face was dark with anger. She raised the whip and lashed him savagely.

In no time at all, Emiya's skin was torn open and blood poured down his trousers, dripping onto the floor, his appearance wretched beyond words.

"Well, well. So not only do you like going naked under your coat, you're also into whip games!"

Emiya painfully lifted his head, let out a cheeky whistle, and said mockingly, "Always acting like a cold and abstinent type, who'd have thought your tastes were this wide?"

"Say one more word, and I'll cut off what's below and feed it to the dogs!"

Kafka squeezed the words out between her teeth, and instantly Emiya's arrogance was extinguished.

He curled his lips, still wanting to resist, but when he saw Kafka slowly raise her sharp stiletto heel, he finally submitted honestly.

"My bad, do as you please."

"I'm curious. How did a little Acheron to willingly bear your child?"

Kafka used the handle of the whip to lift Emiya's chin high, looking him over several times. The man was indeed fairly good-looking, but looks alone weren't enough to conquer Acheron.

If there was something special, it was only his eyes. Kafka had traveled across countless planets, yet rarely had she seen eyes so clear and so full of stories.

"What's there to be curious about? I just got lucky. At a time when Acheron was feeling defeated, I happened to offer her an embrace. That's all there is to it."

Emiya stared directly into Kafka's eyes, his face serious. "Now let me ask you a question. Where did you take Acheron? Was it that strange teleportation ability?"

"Heh, and why should I tell you?" Kafka sneered coldly. She took off her bloodstained coat and tossed it aside, leaving behind a graceful departing silhouette. "We're even now. Goodbye."

In the laboratory, Silver Wolf got busy the moment she received Emiya's samples.

She discovered that in every measurable way, Emiya's data was only a little stronger than an ordinary human's.

With such physical attributes, not to mention clashing head-on with Blade, even combat robots should have been able to defeat him easily.

"Silver Wolf, how's the examination going?" Kafka pushed the door open, walking in with heavy steps.

"No matter how I check, the results say he's just an ordinary human." Silver Wolf's face was bitter. For the first time, she began to doubt her own knowledge.

"We'll just have to wait until the plan is carried out, and see if we can collect any useful data then."

"Does he really have to be killed? Wouldn't it be better to keep him around to use against Acheron? That girl isn't really in any condition to be a hostage."

There was a strange note in Kafka's voice. She realized she didn't actually want to see that man killed.

In fact, ever since leaving Azure Star, Emiya's cheeky expressions kept flashing through Kafka's mind, especially the way that guy had rolled on the ground clutching his legs with deadly seriousness.

Every time she thought of it, she couldn't help but laugh.

At first, Kafka had thought she cared because Emiya was immune to her speech-art. But when they met again, Kafka felt as though her heartbeat had slowed a beat.

"Huh? What's with that look, you're acting strange!" Silver Wolf happened to glance at Kafka, and was shocked to see an expression she had never once seen on her face.

"Come to think of it, shouldn't you be eager for him to die? Why'd you go out of your way to deliver him such a huge pack of energy bars, and now you're even trying to plead for him?"

"Wh-what energy bars, I don't know what you're talking about!" Kafka's heart skipped.

'That execution room definitely had no surveillance, so how did Silver Wolf find out?'

"Haha, true, the execution room has no surveillance. But everywhere else does."

Silver Wolf grinned brilliantly. After so many years, she had finally caught this woman out. "Someone who treasures her coat as much as you, why else would you wear it into the execution room for no reason?"

"Hmph, not wasting words with you. I'm going to sleep."

"Kafka, the order to kill that man came personally from Elio. Don't do anything foolish!"

Kafka's steps paused. The complicated look on her face quickly faded. "I've finished my business. Whatever you people want to do, just don't bother me while I sleep."
