''That is my mummy!''
Lucas eyes bulged as he stared at the woman who looked to be in her late 30's. She couldn't have given birth that late. Could she?
Zade sighed in disappointment as he retrieved his fingers. ''That is not my mummy. That is my nanny.''
''Ohh…'' Lucas exclaimed, relief washing through him.
He stood up and headed to jessica who looked between the stranger and Zade repeatedly, a gasp escaping her lips.
They could pass for father and son.
''You shouldn't have left him wandering all by himself. He's just a little boy.'' Lucas scolded and Jessica bowed slightly, apologizing while also thanking him for bringing zade back to the room.
Lucas nodded, acknowledging her praises before taking quick strides out of the room.
Jessica breathed a sigh of relief.
Just minutes ago, Harmonica had called her, practically shouting that her son had gone missing.
After Dr Hanford had gone back to the room, he found no trace of Zade so he naturally called Harmonica, asking if she had taken Zade with her.
Harmonica had instantly panicked. She sent for jessica immediately, asking her to find Zade while she was shrouded with work.
''Where is my mummy?'' Zade asked, his tone laced with anger as he realized that his mummy had bailed on him.
Even Jessica stared at him apologetically, knowing she was about to get heavily scolded by the young master.
''Do you know that man?'' Jessica asked, ignoring Zade's rants.
''No. But he looks like the homeless man that was in front of my mummy's unit.'' Zade said, dangling his legs against the bed.
Jessica nodded, taking out her phone and texting Harmoninca that Zade was safe.
Meanwhile, Harmonica clicked her legs against the floor impatiently.
She was actually doing fine until the Doctor had called to check if her son was with her.
''For the merger—
''Are you alright?'' Sasha interrupted as she stared at Harmonica weirdly. She could see her rubbing her hands against her dress, cleaning her sweaty palms from time to time.
Even her legs that were clicking against the floor didn't go unnoticed. Harmonica was hitting the table in the process and Saha had almost lost her tea to the table.
''I don't know…'' Harmonica breathed out, no longer masking her feelings.
''My son…'' she started and Sasha stared at her in shock. ''You have a son?''
''Yes! My son is staying at that hospital. There.'' She pointed at the hospital and Sasha nodded, staring at her with concern.
''Is something wrong with him?'' Sasha asked worriedly. She also had a son and she was willing to do anything even lose a deal to some other person to make sure that her son was alright.
''He is battling kidney disease. I took him to the hospital for his regular checkup but I had to leave because of work. Because of this.'' She said, hoping that Sasha would give her a non-judgemental pass to go see her son.
She knew how angry Zade would be about her going AWOL.
''Go to your son. Now!'' Sasha ordered, nodding as Harmonica thanked her repeatedly.
''But next time you come, don't forget to come with Lucas stone. This is a joint project anyways.'' She shouted behind Harmonica who nodded, crawling her way up to the VIP Section where her son was still there.
''Zade!'' Harmonica uttered immediately she entered the room.
She could see Jessica still trying to coerce Zade but the little man was hell bent on rebelling. Immediately his eyes met his mummy's, he turned away.
''I'm sorry.'' Harmonica said, crouching down in front of him.
She had made sure to buy some sweets and junks so as to appease him.
She waved it in his face. And just like she expected, Zade eyes followed the paper bag in her hand. But his face still showed no sign of resilience.
''I guess I'll just eat this with aunt Jessica.'' Harmonica said, acting like she was tired of begging him.
Immediately she stood up, Zade held her hand stopping her.
''I'm sorry.'' He apologized, hugging her legs.
Harmonica smiled as she ruffled his hair. She handed him the junks and watched as he munched on it happily.
''Zade…'' Harmonica started, staring at him.
''Your doctor said you left the room for a while. Where did you go?'' She asked in concern.
''To look for you.'' Zade murmured, his innocent eyes staring at Harmonica with food filled mouth.
Harmonica nodded.
''But a kind uncle brought me back.'' Zade continued and Harmonica looked at him curiously.
''A kind uncle?'' She smiled as she watched zade drop the rest of his food, ready to tell her what kind uncle he had met.
He had a very imaginative memory. And when he was really excited about something, he tend to exaggerate a little.
''Yes. I met him at the elevator and he brought me back.'' He said nodding his head. Then he gestured for Harmonica to come closer and she did, putting her ear to his mouth knowing Zade was about to whisper.
''He looks like the homeless man.''
''Homeless man?'' Harmonica asked curiously, not sure who he was talking about.
''The one that slept in front of your door the other day.'' Zade continued and Harmonica's ribs almost left it's rib cage.
Lucas? No way….
She immediately gestured for Zade to keep eating his food while she approached Jessica.
''Did you see the kind uncle that brought zade back?'' Harmonica asked Jessica, panic already filling her whole being.
''Yes ma'am.'' Jessica answered nodding her head. She wasn't sure if telling the boss that the man looked exactly like her son was a good idea. But seeing her looking at her impatiently as if she was only expecting her to say that, she sighed.
''He looks exactly like Zade ma'am.'' Jessica said and Harmonica's eyes widened.
''Is he…'' Jessica trailed off as she watched Harmonica take quick strides away from the room.
At this point, Harmonica was seething. She had given the doctor just one job!
To take care of her son and he left him alone.
She was going to sue the hospital!
