Everyone in the kingdom knew that whenever the banshee cried, it only meant someone from the royal family is about to die or die. She always cried to alarm the royal family and find a way to stop the incoming death but from the look of things, the banshee cried a week earlier meaning it was warning them of Abigail's death but they couldn't do anything about it.
As Chloe was taken in for treatment, she queen's gaze fell on Erica, then she turned to her husband. She still had questions about how Abigail's powers was suddenly unleashed but now wasn't the time to think about that. Even still she couldn't help bit suspect her husband. When it comes to harming Abigail, he was the only person who would have done that afterall, who would benefit more from Abigail's death. But then her thoughts suddenly went to Erica. Was it Erica, did she do that to get the throne.? No she thought. Erica wouldn't go that far, she knew her daughter and knew that even though she was mostly cold and distant, beneath that mask was a kind and soft- hearted person. Nevertheless, she still had reasons to suspect her, life has afterall thought her a hard lesson and she wouldn't make the mistake to blindly trusting anyone no matter his or her status. She kept her thoughts to her heart and quickly went away. As anxious as she was as a mother, she went to the kingdom's powerful sage and went for help. Even though Abigail's death was announced, she still couldn't believe it. Her daughter can't simply die. But even after going to the sage, she had a negative result. Even if she had survived, finding her would still be difficult since they would have to wait for the next year for the auspicious time. No one knew how many minutes or hours the auspicious time could be for the following year. Nevertheless, the queen was still determined. She then went to check on Chloe.
The next day, the kingdom was made aware of Abigail's death and everyone was shocked. Their beautiful and perfect princess was gone, just like that. Everyone liked Abigail and the news was so heartbreaking. How could Abigail just die. A royal meeting was held and the council wanted to discuss the throne with the queen. In thier era, the queen had much power than the king. One of the elders started
" Oh mighty queen, we offer our condolences for your loss. But we wanted to ask that what about the throne. Who would be the next queen, Abigail the first born isn't here to have a fair contest with her sister but now she is gone, is Erica going to be the queen or would Chloe compere with her sister. Dear queen, the time is almost due and we need to get our next queen before the next month ends."
The king was pleased with himself. Finally, his daughter could have the throne and become queen, there was no Abigail in the way. He knew Chloe well and knew that she never cared about the throne which only meant that, Erica would soon be the next queen. He had spent years trying to make this dream become a reality and it seemed that his work had finally paid off. He was so excited and knew that Erica would also be. The queen who had been quiet answered
" of course, don't you all worry. I'll talk to Chloe about it and we would elect the queen very soon. "
But deep down, the queen had wanted Abigail to take over the throne. As a matter of fact if Abigail had been able to come with them she would have become the next queen easily. As a custom of Elarion, Prince and princesses were sent to the human world when they came of age. They would stay there for 5 years and after that 5 years, they would be brought back and the next aur to the throne would be elected. Many people knew Abigail would be the next queen but things turned out bad.
Just then,the door opened and a huge Tiger in deep orange and black stripes entered. It had wings and moved majestically towards the queen. Almost everyone held thier breath as they stared at the creature. That beast was so terrifying. It was one of the sacred beast in the kingdom and only the queen could tame it. Actually everyone in the royal family had one of the sacred mythical beast. The power exuded by the beast could only be imagined. it walked to the queen and acted like an obedient little cat. The queen patted him for sometime and as if they were communicating, the queen stood up and announced
" the meeting is adjourned "
Then she quickly left with the mythical beast trailing behind her. No one said anything and only watched as they went. They were all familiar with the queen's behaviour and knew that the creature had probably told the queen something.
Sure enough, the queen went straight to Chloe's room, the beast had told her that Chloe was awake and she was anxious to meet her. She had already lost one child and wasn't ready to loose another child. She saw a maid outside and asked
" How is she "
The maid answered meekly
" My queen, she is not willing to eat and has covered herself with the barrier refusing to talk to anyone."
The queen nodded and collected the tray of food in the maids hands and said
" I would talk to her "
She went inside and saw Chloe sitting on the bed with her head lowered and tears streaming from her eyes. The tiger followed her in. But at a certain point in the room, the tiger couldn't enter while, the queen effortlessly entered as of there was no barrier. Throughout the whole kingdom, it was only the queen who could effortlessly pass through Chloe's barrier. As she saw the tiger still trying to enter, she smiled and said
" you wait for me here Gruff."
The tiger reluctantly obeyed as it watched its master sitting on the bed.
" leave me alone mom. I don't want to talk to anyone "
She hated the fact that her mother could still pass through her barrier and thought of mastering her powers well once she has enough time.
