Chapter 16 - Rasengan

Professor Dumbledore was, unsurprisingly, easy to talk to.

After Kyle mentioned the matter of the three-headed dog to the amiable old man, it was easily resolved.

Creatures like that, which were at the very top of the Ministry of Magic's list of dangerous magical beasts, certainly couldn't be kept secretly in the Forbidden Forest by Hagrid.

The students of Hogwarts, especially the little lions of Gryffindor, were the most courageous and inquisitive.

Even though Dumbledore repeatedly emphasized that they shouldn't wander around the Forbidden Forest if they didn't want to die a horrible death,

there were always young wizards who loved to court death and explore the Forbidden Forest.

For example, a certain two Weasleys.

There was also someone with the surname Dumbledore, who tracked someone this morning and barged right in.

If Hagrid were allowed to keep the three-headed dog in the Forbidden Forest like this, a professional team might one day return an unfortunate young wizard who encountered the dog to their family.

So Dumbledore needed to find a place for Hagrid to safely keep the three-headed dog. Something like Kyle's Bag-End suitcase would be a good choice.

But that was Dumbledore's concern, and it had nothing to do with Kyle anymore.

Now, he had more important things to do.

Out of the castle, Kyle headed straight for the Black Lake in the distance. He had some ideas about magic that needed verification.

If the essence of magic was really as Professor Flitwick said, that it was about making one's wishes come true, meaning that magic changed reality under the influence of will...

Then things that assisted wizards in casting spells, like wands and hand seals, could they be completely discarded?

Wouldn't that mean you could just clap your hands and get whatever you wanted?

Standing at the edge of the Black Lake, watching the layers of rippling waves rise with the wind, Kyle gathered magic at his feet, then stepped onto the surface of the lake.

If Newton had the chance to witness this scene, he would definitely jump out of his coffin.

The lake, which shouldn't be able to support a person standing on it, was like solid ground for Kyle.

Reaching the center of the lake, Kyle focused his attention and mobilized the magic within him, then clapped his hands together heavily.

"Water Style: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave!"

Magic conducted through Kyle's body, surging wildly into the Black Lake beneath his feet. Instantly, a massive wave surged from the lake's surface.

I can really do whatever I say with a clap of my hands! Kyle roared excitedly in his heart.

But the next second, his joy turned to sorrow.

Because of the extreme agitation in his heart, Kyle lost control of the lake water. Consequently, a giant wave, thirty to forty meters high, crashed towards him with the force of a landslide.

"Holy shit!" These were the last words Kyle managed to utter before being swallowed by the lake.

A moment later, a thick squid tentacle, holding the terrified Kyle, deposited him on the shore of the Black Lake.

Fortunately, his experiences over the past few years had given Kyle sufficiently robust nerves, and he quickly calmed down.

His golden, choppy hair was plastered to his scalp, and the February wind, blowing on his damp robes, sent a shiver down his spine.

However, this cold couldn't suppress the excitement that surged within Kyle.

He had previously thought that he needed to perform hand seals to use ninjutsu. Of course, he was referring to normal ninjas like Kisame Hoshigaki, not overpowered individuals like Hashirama and Madara.

During his five years of wandering, he successfully figured out the hand seals for seven or eight Earth Style and Water Style ninjutsu.

For this, he was even glad that he had, in his previous life, been so consumed by the burning chuunibyou spirit while watching Naruto that he had specifically learned the twelve hand seals from the show.

However, his recent successful attempt at casting ninjutsu without hand seals overturned his previous rigid understanding of ninjutsu.

If that was the case, then his other conjecture could also be confirmed – that his non-elemental magic could allow him to cast all elemental-based Doton techniques.

Of course, the most pressing matter at the moment wasn't to try out other elemental Doton techniques, but to dry the clothes on his body first.

If he stayed in the cold wind any longer, Kyle felt he would catch a cold.

Very quickly, a pile of firewood was built up on the bank of the Black Lake.

Magic gathered in Kyle's throat, "Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!"

A burst of flames erupted from his mouth, then expanded in the air into a huge fireball, and the scorching flames instantly ignited the pile of firewood in front of him.

This was also the first time he had cast a Doton technique other than Water or Earth Style. Since the Fire Style worked, it meant he had been limited by his own thinking before.

The crackling campfire provided warmth. Kyle took off his damp wizard's robes and hung them on a wooden pole nearby.

"I directly converted my magic into flames just now. Logically, the process of combustion should require a flammable substance..."

Kyle muttered to himself, sitting by the fire and warming up.

"If fire magic can skip the need for a combustible, then when performing Lightning Style ninjutsu, could I also gather electrical charges directly without a charging device?"

Kyle held up his finger, staring at it and imagining a large number of electrical charges gathering at his fingertips.

Driven by Kyle's will, his magic silently drew the free electrical charges in the surrounding air towards his fingertips.

Ten seconds later...

"Argh! Damn it!" Kyle clutched his finger, which had been burned by electricity, and let out a few beautiful lines of C language.

His original idea was that if he could gather a large amount of lightning in his hand, he could perform Sasuke's signature technique – Lightning Style: Chidori.

Later, on the basis of Chidori, developing Lightning Cutter wouldn't be impossible either.

But now it seemed that he could gather a large amount of electrical charge in his hand, but before he could even form Chidori, his hand would probably be charred by the intense electricity.

If that was the case, he wouldn't be able to use those extremely cool, high-level Lightning Style ninjutsu in the future.

Kyle lay on the ground, looking utterly dejected.

He had been thinking about using Lightning Style Armor to go head-to-head with a dragon in the future.

If the Chidori path was blocked, did that mean he would have to make Rasengans like Naruto in the future?

Concentrating Chakra in his hand, causing the Chakra to flow and compress in different directions, forming a rotating, dense "Chakra ball," that was Naruto's Rasengan.

The Rasengan is a technique that runs throughout the entire Naruto series.

No matter the enemy, Naruto would just charge in with a Rasengan.

Even when facing Kaguya Otsutsuki, the hardworking Naruto just kept using various types of Rasengans to attack.

If a single, ordinary "Rasengan" couldn't solve the problem, then it was "Multiple Rasengans".

If that still didn't work, then it was "I'm using Rasengan", "Rasengan in my hand", "Super I'm using Rasengan in my hand"...

The Rasengan got bigger and more impressive, but it was the same move, used from the moment it was learned until the end...

Kyle thought it was a bit low-level.

What he really wanted was to become a battlefield rose like Madara, dancing in battle, and saying, "I will never use the same technique twice"...

But now, it seems like there's no other choice but to try and master the Rasengan?

After adding a few more logs to the campfire, Kyle stroked his smooth chin, pondering the steps to master the Rasengan.

First, he had to learn to gather Chakra in his palm.

Then, he had to hold a water balloon, releasing Chakra to make the water inside move erratically until the balloon burst.

The next stage was to replace the balloon with a water-filled ball.

When the user can burst the ball, the Rasengan will have its initial offensive power.

Back when Kyle was still in America, he had already begun training the Rasengan to compensate for the lack of offensive capabilities in the Ninjutsu he knew.

However, up until now, he still hadn't managed to burst the ball.
