Chapter 5 - where are my...?

The next morning, vanessa came downstairs to have breakfast. It was an usual morning because she rang the bell in her room and no staff answered. As she walked down the stairs she noticed her house was void of staff, not even the guards that stands by the door. The halls echoed silence except for the kitchen where sounds could be heard.

"Finally, another soul." She breathed in relief when she saw greg. Even though he's the last person she wanted to see first in the morning.

"Morning" he greeted without looking at her.

She scoffed and rolled her eyes "where are my..."

"The staff. I sent them away." He interrupted her question, having already predicted it to be the first thing she might ask.

"You what?!!" She shouted in shock, never expecting him to do something like that.

"You don't need them anymore. I have placed order for a better smarter team who will be arriving at noon." He checked his watch as he spoke.

"My old staff were perfect. I want them back!" She protested.

"I decide who stays and who leaves, it is my child you are carrying vanessa, i won't have less than perfect work force around you!" He said in defense.

She folded both arms, pursed her lips then said "you don't get to chose who stays and who leaves, it may be your heir in my womb but it's my gaddam life! One more intrusion in my personal affairs and i'll have it removed. Don't test me greg!" She warned.

"Or what vanessa? I'm the father, i decide!" He responded in a cool paced tone.

"You're the father but it's my womb, you can take it out, have a surrogate bear it, then you can customize her life the way you want." Her eyes were fierce and her blood boiled with rage as she spoke, greg has crossed the line here and she won't back down. It's unbearable enough to have him in the house but replacing all her staff? What would he do next, change her entire company? She heaved a heavy sigh then spoke in a calm anger free tone. "Having a baby on the way is the main reason i need them around. They are more than employed staff to me, they are like family. I don't need to tell the chef what i want for breakfast before he makes my favorite, they clean, wash, maintain the house without me having a reason to yell orders around or remind them of their duty. They are the closest thing i have for family around here. They may not be perfect, but they are what i need. I need them back!" Her tone was calm but stern.

Greg grit his teeth. He had to grant her wish else he'll keep pushing her away by acting too hard. "Fine! I'll call them back, but if anything goes wrong, they'll leave for good!" He warned with a stern tone.

"What 'wrong' could..." She gagged. She held her hand to her mouth.

"Are you okay vee?" He removed the apron he had on and rushed to where she stood.

"Im fine!" She pushed him away.

He heaved a sigh in relief. "I'll get the staff in as soon as possible." He promised.

"Good!" She said and walked away.

"I made breakfast." He said as she walked away.

"Not hungry." She shot without looking back.

"Vanessa you need to eat something." He pleaded but not obviously.

"Fine!" She turned back, from where she stood she could see the content in the plate, it was her favorite breakfast meal. 'He remembered ' she thought. Her stomach grumbled at the sight of the food. "No thank you. I'll make my own breakfast!" She clenched her fist as she walked away.

Greg grit his teeth. What a wrong foot to start on his quest to win her heart. Minutes later the doorbell rang. 'Who could it be? The staff couldn't have arrived so fast' he thought then went to answer it.

"Order delivery for vanessa knightly!" The delivery guy announced, holding a take out bag in one hand.

Greg clenched his jaw "it's Mrs Thompson to you" he muttered as he grabbed the order from the guy. He signed after tipping the guy. He slammed the door at the guy's face.

The delivery guy shrugged then said "not my problem!" in a sly manner and whistled away.

Greg peeked around to see if she had heard the sound and was on her way to check but she wasn't. He quickly went through the receipt to see what she ordered. His head exploded when he saw the name of the meal she ordered, it was the exact meal he made that she rejected. He dumped the meal in the trash bin and walked to his office. He made a call to the head union of all food and beverages department in the country and banned them from delivering food to the residence unless he says otherwise.

Vanessa came downstairs after calling countless time the food place she'd placed order from without getting a response. She didn't see greg downstairs so that was a relief. She looked around the kitchen and dining area to see if her order has been delivered, she opened the fridge and cabinet but didn't find it. As she turned to leave, she recognised the logo of the restaurant on a pack in the trash bin, she raised the pack up to be sure her eyes were not deceiving her. "What?!!" She yelled in shock. She dumped the pack back into the trash bin and stomped upstairs.

Her door swung open without hearing a knock

"Geez greg, startled vanessa turned away abruptly, using her hand to cover her bare breast while backing him "do you mind?!" She quarreled.

"I'm...i'm sorry" he managed to say. The sight he just beheld took his head on a swoon. He blinked hard as if trying to get the image of her c cup sized breast hanging firmly on her chest with protruded pinkish brown nipples, hr felt his crotch hardened. "I'll come back" he turned to leave.

"No!" She sighed then turned to face him "i am your wife legally. You still own me so, i shouldn't keep back my body from you." She dropped her hands and her breasts came in view.

Greg stood transfixed, his mouth watered and his throat felt dry...
