Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: My fate is my own, not God's!

Hawke didn't know how other Saints trained.

After all, the Saints he remembered were from anime.

This was reality.

As everyone knows, stories require logic, reality doesn't.

  So...

Hawke, who threw ten thousand punches every day for a full thousand days, could be said to have already mastered this simple fist technique.

There's a saying:

If someone can consistently draw their sword a hundred thousand times, they can master the art of Heaven-Slaying Sword Drawing.

He persisted in drawing and throwing his fist more than a hundred thousand times, and after completing his Cosmo Training Activation Task, his fist technique finally underwent a qualitative transformation.

Sonic Fist!

A fist technique that can increase one's punch speed to the speed of sound, and after burning one's Cosmo, it's even more likely to break the speed of sound.

What is a Sonic Fist?

It's when my fist hits you, you'll feel the pain first, then hear the sound of my punch.

That's called a Sonic Fist.

  Boom!

As a spacecraft exploded above the city block, the Chitauri captain, having leaped from it at the critical moment, heard the sound of fists exploding beside him and drew a spear-like weapon from his back.

It also glowed with a faint green light, but it wasn't a gun, instead, it was a spear.

He stared at Hawke, shirtless and sculpted like a statue.

There was no way.

Hawke hadn't been injured by the Chitauri's blanket bombardment, but the T-shirt he'd worn for years had been completely ripped apart by the flying debris.

But it didn't matter.

After removing the shredded T-shirt and wearing only gray slacks and a pair of well-worn sneakers, Hawke felt a little stronger.

And it wasn't an illusion.

Everyone knows that exploding clothing increases combat power!

  "Human!"

The Chitauri captain, holding the spear emitting a faint green light, stared intently at Hawke with his large, green eyes beneath his visor.

Hawke's image also appeared on the monitors of the Chitauri alien mothership behind the wormhole.

Hawke looked at the Chitauri captain, wielding a spear glowing faint green, and tilted his head to smile.

The next moment,he extended his right hand toward the Chitauri captain, palm open, fingers clasped together, and hooked his hand.

No nonsense.

  "Come!"

  "Die!"

The Chitauri captain, expressionless, observed Hawke's nonchalant expression and almost humiliating gesture.

With a thud, his foot instantly crushed the ground, and he soared through the air, rapidly advancing towards Hawke.

The tip of the spear in his hand glowed faint green, releasing one energy beam after another.

Hawke also exerted force on his foot, and as the ground cracked and sank, he transformed into a vision-shattering golden light, darting towards the Chitauri captain.

In memory, once a Bronze Saint awakened their Cosmo, gained the recognition of their constellation, and donned the armor of their constellation, their bodies would transform into something truly terrifying.

Their defenses would become incredibly formidable, and the speed of their punches and movements would reach the speed of sound.

Even their lifespans far surpass those of ordinary humans.

Although Hawke had only awakened his Cosmo, yet to ignite his constellation and possess even a shadow of his sacred armor, this did not in any way diminish the fact that, in some sense, he was no longer ordinary.

  Therefore…

  "Puff!"

Captain Chirita, who was rapidly advancing towards Hawke, attempting to disrupt and stop him with ranged attacks, then attempt to kill him once close, suddenly changed expression, and spat out a mouthful of the same dark green blood.

The force of the gushing green blood was so strong that it ripped the metal mask off Captain Chirita's face, revealing a hideous face that looked more like an insect than a human.

The next moment, the sound of a fist exploded in Captain Chirita's ears.

  "Boom!"

The Chirita captain looked down, dazed, at the arm that had pierced his armor and lodged itself in his chest.

He roared, incomprehensible and perhaps meaningless, and tried to raise his increasingly heavy head, taking another look at the human who had killed him with a single blow.

But he ran out of time.

Just as he had halfway lifted his head, the arm in his chest yanked away, and boundless darkness suddenly enveloped him.

  Boom!

Without Hawke's arm to support him, the Chirita captain, enveloped in boundless darkness, fell to the ground like a dead insect.

As the Chirita captain fell, Hawke reached out with his right hand and snatched the energy spear from his hand.

A faint green liquid filled the spear's interior, and as the energy flowed, it also emitted a faint green glow.

Hawke weighed the energy spear in his hand.

A sudden thought struck him.

By the way, if I sold this energy spear and the weapons dropped by the Chitauri soldiers he just killed on the black market, how much would they fetch?

Alien weapons they should be worth a lot, right?

Hawke thought, subconsciously turning his head to look at a corner of the wreckage.

He had just thrown the four energy guns he had dropped into a large pit while disposing of the bodies.

  Just then,

Hawke's peripheral vision caught a glimpse of a sudden burst of brilliant blue light above Manhattan.

Coming back to his senses,he gazed towards the sky above Manhattan. The dark blue pillar of light that had seemed to have always existed between heaven and earth had vanished.

Simultaneously, the gaping hole tearing through Earth's sky was closing at a visible speed.

  "That's it?"

  "It's over?"

"Is the Chitauri invasion of Earth over?"

  "Why do I feel..."

  Hawke blinked.

He wanted to say, if he had known the Chitauri invasion of Earth would be so weak, he wouldn't have been so worried.

  But...

Hawke withdrew his gaze, looking at the ruined streets that had become a complete mess, like a post-war ruin, with even some broken limbs visible, and took back the words in his heart.

It was not that the Chitauri soldiers were too weak.

It was that he had become stronger.

"If I hadn't awakened my microcosm at this point in time, there would probably be a part of me among those broken limbs."

Hawke's eyes fell on the broken limbs that were visible to the naked eye, and he thought to himself, and became more determined in his idea.

He wanted to become stronger.

Continue to become stronger.

Not for anything else, just to have the right to say that.

My fate is in my own hands.

Not in the hands of God!

But Hawke still had an important thing to do right now.

That is to find a place to put the five alien weapons that he had worked so hard to get from monsters, and then find a way to sell them for money to improve his life.
