Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: On How to Forge Saint Cloths in the Marvel Universe

Five days later!

Midtown High School.

The physics teacher was lecturing on the stage.

Sitting near the window, Hawke was writing down the names of three items in his notebook.

  Orichalcum!

  Gammanion!

  And Silver Star Sand!

Individually, no one might recognize these three items, but together, most would.

  Saint Cloths!

The Saint Seiya's battle suits, worn to connect with their own constellation and significantly enhance their combat power.

These three items were essential for forging Saint Cloths.

  Good news.

Since he was the only one in this universe with a Cosmo, he didn't need to forge them himself.

He just needed to find these three items, and his constellation would refine them and forge a Saint Cloth unique to him.

  Bad news.

Could anyone tell him how to find things in the Marvel Universe that only existed in the Saint Seiya universe?

Hawke was having a headache.

Fortunately, he still had time. After all, he hadn't yet illuminated a constellation, so the need for the armor wasn't urgent.

But it's better to plan aheadthan to wait until he'd illuminated his constellation to find these three items.

It's better to start preparing now.

  So!

Hawke looked at the word "orichalcum" written in his notebook, thought for a moment, and wrote another word next to it.

  Vibranium?

Orichalcum, one of the three main materials of the armor, comes from an alloy in ancient Greek legend.

It is a magical alloy that can withstand ordinary impact.

Coincidentally, vibranium is also a legendary alloy in the Marvel Universe, and it is the most advanced alloy.

And vibranium also has the property of infinite impact resistance.

Captain America's shield was forged from vibranium.

  Unique.

  Unparalleled.

As a metal that only exists in legends, vibranium is truly priceless.

  But...

Hawke knew that somewhere in this world, there was a vast reservoir of vibranium.

Its reserves, quite literally, were enough for him to acquire not only forty-eight bronze armors, but also twenty-four silver armors, and twelve gold armors, with some still to spare.

  That's right.

He was referring to Wakanda in the 21st century, a country not only isolated from the outside world but also feigning starvation to defraud UN food aid.

If vibranium could truly replace orichalcum, then Hawke would have to obtain it.

  What?

Wakanda won't give it?

Hawke

I want vibranium, and none of your business!

He wasn't prone to fighting, but if anyone stood in his way, it would be a conflict.

A conflict to the death!

Hawke pondered this, then, looking at the "Silver Star Sand" in his notebook, he paused for a moment and wrote the word "Meteorite" next to it.

  Silver Star Sand.

As the name suggests, it's sand and gravel crushed from the stars of the Milky Way.

Meteorites are simply fallen stars.

All it takes is finding a meteorite and crushing it with the energy from burning Cosmos to obtain Silver Star Sand.

  But...

  Gammanion.

  What is this?

If Orichalcum provides the Cloth's metallic ductility, and Silver Star Sand, generated by burning Cosmos, grants it self-repair, then Gaammanion provides a platform for the fusion of these two materials and imbues the Cloth with life and consciousness.

In short,Orichalcum and Silver Star Sand aren't the key to forging the Cloth.

Gaammanion is.

Without Gamanion, a Saint Cloth forged from orichalcum and silver star sand is merely a dull, inanimate object.

A Saint Cloth with Gamanion is truly a Saint's suit.

  But!

Hawke frowned, pondering for a moment.

He wrote "gamma ray" next to it, then drew a small question mark.

Given its ability to imbue the Cloth with life and consciousness, and the "gamma" in "Gamma Manion," it undoubtedly resembles the Hulk's mother, the gamma ray.

The Hulk was born from Bruce Banner's exposure to gamma ray.

From a biological perspective, the gamma ray is the Hulk's mother.

Of course, if Bruce Banner were a woman, then the gamma ray could also be the Hulk's father.

In short, even if the gamma ray isn't Gamanion, there must be some connection, perhaps even a crucial one.

Hawke closed his eyes, his finger tapping his notebook subconsciously as he pondered.

Just then,he felt someone push him.

Hawke opened his eyes and looked at Gwen, who had nudged him with her elbow.

  "Mr. Anderson is calling you."

  "..."

Hawke paused, looking up at the podium.

Mr. Anderson, his hair slightly graying, smiled at Hawke as he gazed down at him. "Hawk, answer this question."

Okay, he'd been caught distracted by the teacher.

But Hawke stood up from his seat, pondered for a moment, and then perfectly answered Mr. Anderson's question.

This time, it was Anderson's turn to be stunned.

However, Hawke's answer was indeed correct, so Mr. Anderson simply gave Hawke a look that said, "You're lucky this time," and then told Hawke to sit down.

Hawke thanked him and took his seat again.

Just as he was about to continue pondering the possibility of a connection between "gamma manium" and "gamma rays," a piece of paper was pushed over.

Hawke glanced at the note. It caught his eye.

"Has the court hearing for the independence application been confirmed?"

  "...Confirmed, this afternoon."

Hawke pondered for a moment, wrote his answer beneath the neatly written note, and pushed the paper back.

His apartment had been violently demolished by aliens, and new social housing hadn't been arranged yet.

But Hawke felt he might not get a new one.

New York City's municipal administration was notoriously slow, and he wasn't the only orphan to lose his social housing.

Hawke figured his turn wouldn't come until next year.

And next year, he'd be eighteen.

  So...

Hawke had been searching for a cheaper apartment these days.

After all, he couldn't be like a refugee, crammed into a hangar filled with smells.

And there was the constant worry that those who'd lost their homes and whose insurance wouldn't cover them might resort to extreme measures.

If he didn't move now, he'd have to move next year anyway, so he might as well move now.

But since he was under eighteen, legally, he wasn't eligible, and no one would rent him an apartment.

So, Hawke had been taking afternoons off these past few days to go to the Family Court in Queens to apply for early independence.

Since Gwen had taken the afternoon off these past few days, she knew the reason for her absence.

It wasn't Hawke who said it.

  He wasn't that boring.

  In short,

  Hawke was a student.

  Gwen was a student assistant.

And she was in Hawke's grade.
