Chapter 38 - Turn the tables on someone

"An Ran, the reason why I assigned you this task is to let you familiarize yourself with the company's recent financial situation. I plan to have you responsible for data analysis in the future. Who knew that you would think I was playing a joke on you... An Ran, I can only say that you are too... immature."

Anna was heartbroken, like an old good person who had been hurt to the core.

Fu Lengyu was even angrier. Facing his gaze, An Ran desperately shook her head in denial. "You are simply being unreasonable! If you want me to know about the company's financial situation, you should show me a summary and some key data analysis. Giving me a bunch of meaningless reports is a waste of time..."

Halfway through her sentence, An Ran gradually stopped speaking under Fu Lengyu's mocking gaze. In the end, she couldn't even say a word.

That mocking and disgusted look made An Ran feel a chill run through her body. She thought bitterly that whatever she said now would probably be wrong in his eyes.

"Are you finished?"

Fu Lengyu sneered, pinching An Ran's chin. "You always have so many excuses to justify your mistakes. Your eagerness to shirk responsibility is really disgusting!"

He pushed her face aside fiercely.

"Remember, you are just a secretary, an ordinary employee. Just listen and do your jobwell. Don't make trouble for me anymore. Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite!"

Anna frowned apologetically and bowed slightly to admit her mistake. "I also made a mistake in this matter. I didn't explain the situation to Miss An in time, which led to her misunderstanding my intentions. Mr. Fu, I'm very sorry for wasting your precious time..."

"Take this woman out of my office! Don't bother me with such trivial matters in the future!" Fu Lengyu impatiently waved his hand to dismiss them.

Anna obediently led An Ran out of the office. There were already few people on the top floor, and they didn't see anyone in the spacious corridor.

Anna stopped and blocked An Ran, enjoying the woman's embarrassment and awkwardness. "So, do you know what to do in the future? Mrs. President!"

The title "Madam CEO" sounded sarcastic coming from Anna's mouth. Anna glared at her and said, "You're such a two-faced person!"

It dawned on An Ran that Anna was the mastermind behind all of this. Even though she wanted to focus on her new job and didn't want to confront Anna directly, Anna deliberately provoked her in the public office and even pushed the blame onto her when she went to Mr. Fu for help.

In the end, An Ran was the only one who suffered from the unfair treatment in the workplace. She hated her own weakness and incompetence, for being so easily led astray by Anna. If she could turn back time, she would never have fallen for Anna's tricks again.

Anna laughed smugly and shook her head while looking at An Ran. "You're so stupid. How could Mr. Fu let you become Madam CEO? Maybe it's because you're so dumb that he made you Madam CEO. After all, you're too dumb to control a smart man like Mr. Fu!"

An Ran was almost driven crazy by Anna's shamelessness. "Since you know I'm still Madam CEO, shut up!" An Ran was both aggrieved and uncomfortable. Faced with such ridicule, she couldn't even fight back effectively.

"Just now, Mr. Fu said that you're just an ordinary employee in the company and specifically told me not to treat you as Madam CEO! You're now an intern secretary, Miss An. Not a noble Madam CEO! Miss An..."

Anna walked step by step towards An Ran, patted her shoulder, and leaned in to whisper in her ear. "I hope you recognize reality and obey my work arrangements! Because I'm your half-boss! As a subordinate, you have to obey! Obey like a dog! Do you understand?"

An Ran was so angry that she trembled all over, staring at her with red eyes and biting her lips until they turned white. She stubbornly said, "Don't push me too far..."

In this isolated and helpless environment, An Ran's warning sounded weak and pale. Anna withdrew her hand, looking arrogant and proud. "An Ran, don't threaten me. I've assigned you a new job. You'll be responsible for analyzing this month's financial report. Remember, don't make any mistakes, or Mr. Fu will be angry!"

Watching Anna leave withher head held high, An Ran's eyes became slightly hot, and she had an urge to cry. She rubbed her eyes hard, suppressing the urge to cry, and murmured to herself, "An Ran, don't be discouraged by such a small matter. You can do better... Don't be sad or aggrieved. It's not worth it for such a small matter..."

But no matter what, she still felt very wronged.Back in the office, her colleagues noticed her bad mood and came to inquire under the guise of concern. An Ran finally managed to fend them off, but Anna threw a pile of files onto her desk and said coldly, "Finish reading all these files before you leave today, and summarize the key points at the end!"

The others were surprised to see this scene, and a man laughed and said, "Isn't this too much for a newcomer? With such a heavy workload, how could she possibly finish it before leaving work?"

Anna glared coldly and snorted, "Everyone around Mr. Fu is the cream of the crop. If you can't handle even this, Miss An won't be responsible for these important tasks in the future. Just be an office secretary and pour tea for everyone!"

As everyone was stunned, Anna left with her head held high. The man who had helped her earlier whistled and asked with glee, "Miss An, you must have really offended Anna. Tell me, how did you do it?"

An Ran stood up, expressionless, and said, "Weren't you all busy with work? How come you have time to gossip? When I asked for your help, you were all too busy to bother. But when I have a problem, you all come to watch the show! Ha, you're really busy!"

The secretaries probably knew not to mess with An Ran anymore, and now they were also angry, so it was better not to stir things up at this time.

In Anna's personal office, after making sure no one else was around, she dialed a number. "Miss Tang, you were right. Mr. Fu did help me after all."
