Chapter 8 - Red Central Tower

The moment she remembered everything along with the feeling of pain, misery, sadness and regrets, Yuerong immediately fell into consciousness and he was quick to pull her in his arms before she hit the ground.

The girl rested her head on his chest as his arms wrapped around her lovingly.

''Yuerong,'' he tried calling to see if she would respond but she was already far too gone. Thankfully, she was still breathing and alive. He gave her a second chance to relive this life.

Once she was awake and comfortable, he was going to ask her what happened and of course, kill everyone and destroy everything responsible for the situation she was in.

The Lonely God pulled her close before leaning a bit to place a soft kiss on her forehead as an apology for being alive while she was being bullied to the point of death.

In this life, he wouldn't even let her out of his sight even for a second. Even if she wanted to go to the end of the world, he was ready to go with her no matter what.

Life only has meaning if she was in there alive and happy.

He rose to his feet with her secured in his arms and used his powers to transport them out of the Third Immortal realm and straight for the Red Central Tower.

The Red Central Tower was a circular, twelve story building with red roofs and white walls. It was built at the highest peak of the Nameless mountain and clouded by magical fog and barriers to make the building invisible to strangers.

He slowly went up the stairs on his bare feet with his lover in his arms. The higher he went up, the more disconnected they were from the rest of the world.

He entered the building and went straight to the room she had left behind before going to the God Realm. Everything was just as she left it; the decorations and the flowers. She loved to journey to the lower realms to collect all kinds and even the furniture were just as they were.

He made sure the room was cleaned at least four times a day by Yaoqin—if every part of the tower was a mess, there was no excuse for her space to look abandoned.

He had always had this crazy feeling—you can call it his obsession that she would return to him one day and there would always be a place for her.

He entered her room and moved towards the bed. The Lonely God gently lowered her on the bed before pulling away with a soft sigh. Then he stayed and watched over her sleeping form for hours.

She was still covered in too much blood. The dress she had on was a bloodied mess and he would hate for her to wake up and be reminded by whatever the hell happened to her just by the sight of what she was wearing.

There was no one he trusted with his girl in this state right now more than himself.

If he could just strip her off the wedding dress and burn it…

He then fell on one knee and slowly raised her into a sitting position. Her long, dark purple hair falling over her face like a curtain. He brushed the long strands with the tip of his fingers slowly over her shoulders and closed his eyes.

Tracing his fingers carefully around the curve of her waist he found the knot of the belt that held the dress together and began to loosen it.

She leaned against him as he did so, her breaths against the curve of his neck soft and warm as the knots of the dress came undone. He slowly traced the opening of her dress, careful not to make contact with any of her sensitive parts all the way to her shoulders.

He let the dress fall of her shoulders and paused when she moved against him.

''Yuerong?'' he called, and circled his right arm around her. His hands at the back of her head as he held her against him affectionately. His eyes remained close as they were in that position for a minute.

She must be having a dream.

Gently, like he was stroking a feather, his fingers moved against her hair in an attempt to calm her.

''It's alright,'' the omnipotent whispered. ''I'm here now, with you. You will feel no pain anymore.''

The girl calmed a bit like she could hear him speak. Then he continued with stripping her off the bloody dress, letting her sleep back on the bed in her underwear. His hands moved around on the bed in search of the quilt and draped it over her small figure before revealing his golden gaze.

The room appeared partly dark, he remained on his knees as he made sure she was safely tucked and warm under the quilt.

He took one of her hands, wrapping his around hers before leaning on it as he stared at the most beautiful woman he had ever known. She was now broken and covered in blood, bearing lots of traumas.

He couldn't imagine loving anyone else that was not her. He had tried and failed. They were just not her in many ways.

They didn't look, talk, behave or have that pure smile he can't do without.

She was the best version of himself. The idol he was dedicated to praise for the rest of his life.

A small smile parted his fine lips as both obsession and admiration flickered in those beautiful golden orbs of his.

''I have let you loved everyone except me,'' he said, bringing his other hand to play with the strands of her hair. ''And I almost lost you because of it.''

He trailed a finger down the curve of her face.

''Now,'' he leaned closer as something darker misted around those eyes that regarded her like there was nothing else he craved than her. ''There is nothing and no one coming between me and you.''

He said in a chilling tone as strands of his hair fell over his shoulders as he leaned close.

''I won't allow it.''

His hands moved all the way down to her lips and claimed it as his.

''And you can't take yourself away from me. You will be mine forever.''

He smiled, pleased as he thought of keeping her here with him forever in this place. Where no one would disturb or ever threaten to take her from under his wings again.

There would be no one to distract her with thoughts of love or romance again.

No harm would befall her and she would be safe forever.

''In this life, you are mine alone and forever. I am never giving you up to someone or anything else ever again,'' he said and leaned to seal that promise with a long kiss on her forehead.
