Chapter 19 - New Web Shooters

Peter was taken aback, disbelieving.

He'd had his spider-abilities for over a month, and he'd been making his own Web Shooters and Webbing for more than half that time. But all he knew how to do was shoot out webbing.

The new webbing and Web Fluid Cartridges were only learned and created after going to Shadow Spider-Man.

And even Shadow Spider-Man only knew a few ways to shoot webbing.

But now, Iron Man's suit had 576 scientifically engineered web-shooting methods programmed into it?

How was that possible?

Fake, right?

It felt like it was negating all his efforts from the past month!

However, when Peter carefully examined the training courses, the long list of names, each one unique, appeared before him.

Things like "Web Grenade," "Separation Web," "Electric Web," "Rapid Webbing," "Bouncing Web," and "Web Parachute."

Finally, he reluctantly discovered two facts:

First, the Web Shooter he had painstakingly researched was obsolete!

Second, he really had to believe in science!

Although Iron Man didn't use webbing as one of his main offensive methods, the scientific web-shooting methods he analyzed through scientific means were indeed very useful.

For example, the Bouncing Web was a type of Web Fluid Cartridge that delayed its explosion. Due to some special techniques, it wouldn't explode immediately upon launch.

If the enemy was hiding behind a wall, Peter could directly launch the Bouncing Web based on a simple angle of projection, knocking the opponent down!

Then there was the Web Grenade, which was a special Web Fluid Cartridge containing a large ball of webbing solution. When thrown, it would instantly turn into a huge web.

This instant-webbing method could also be applied in many places.

For example, he used to deal with drunk drivers who didn't follow the rules on the streets. When their vehicles went out of control, he always had to use his own strength to pull the vehicles back to prevent them from hitting people.

But in reality, it was difficult to stop them completely, often causing some unnecessary losses.

Even though he wouldn't have to pay for the damage, since he'd chosen to help, he naturally wanted to do his best!

If he had a Web Grenade right now, he could instantly create a large net to catch the car before it hit the ground.

That would give him plenty of time to "handle" the car with care.

The other webbing methods also had their uses.

Even without going through the tutorials himself, Peter could understand some things just from the names and descriptions.

Then, Peter roughly looked through the rest of the training protocol.

Some were disabled, informing him that he needed to reach a certain training level to unlock them.

But just the ones that weren't disabled already made him feel like he'd gained a lot.

Peter finally began to realize how precious this suit was.

Its materials, texture, and artificial intelligence were only one aspect. The knowledge carefully integrated into it, in Peter's opinion, was just as valuable!

"Mr. Stark," Peter didn't know why Iron Man was being so kind to him, but he knew he had to remember this favor!

Even if it was just for a "trade," casually making something to brush him off and meticulously making something for him were two completely different concepts!

With gratitude towards Iron Man, Peter started his "jumping around" again in the room.

Thwack!

Thwack!

Thwack!

Boom, boom, boom!

Someone knocked on the door.

Peter did a nimble flip and peeked outside through the peephole. There was no one there.

Huh?

Knock, knock, knock!

The door was knocked on again, and then it opened directly.

Oh, it was the door to the room.

The person who walked in was Happy.

He almost forgot that his room was connected to Happy's.

Happy looked at Peter, who was wearing the Spider-Man suit, with a blank expression, and then swept his gaze over the ceiling, corners, and other places, at the dense webbing: "Are you planning to turn this place into a spider's lair? You're Spider-Man, not a spider-monster."

Peter scratched his head, a little embarrassed.

He had discovered so many interesting things that he was a little too excited for a moment, and he had forgotten about this.

He was in a hotel now. If the room service found the webbing in this room, wouldn't his identity be exposed?

Fortunately, Happy saw his predicament and said, "Now, stop immediately. If you want to test the suit, wait until you get back. I'll extend this room for another day and then check out after the special personnel have cleaned up the traces."

"Thank you, thank you," Peter breathed a sigh of relief, repeatedly expressing his gratitude.

He didn't want to reveal his identity just yet.

It wouldn't be a big deal if his true identity was known by superheroes like Iron Man or Ant-Man.

After all, they were all in the same boat.

They wouldn't interfere with each other's lives when they weren't busy.

But if ordinary people knew... that would be a problem.

He'd already experienced this in the world of Shadow Spider-Man.

In that world, Shadow Spider-Man's true identity hadn't even been revealed, yet danger descended upon Peter and his Aunt May simply because Ben Urich had been close to Peter before his death.

If Peter hadn't gained spider-like abilities, or if he'd been a moment late, Aunt May would have suffered the same fate as Uncle Ben, falling victim to the Vulture!

He absolutely didn't want to let any of that happen to his Aunt May!

After Happy warned him, he returned to his room.

Peter was left lying bored on his bed.

Unconsciously, he fell asleep.

He had a long dream.

In the dream, he saw countless Spider-Men.

There was a burly Spider-Man wearing a black suit, a slender Spider-Man in a white suit, a Spider-Man wearing a steampunk-style exoskeleton, and even Spider-Ham, with his pig snout.

Finally, he seemed to see a giant web, with a figure sitting in the middle of it.

The night quickly passed.

Peter didn't wait for Iron Man to arrive.

The next morning, Happy received a message from Iron Man. He then took Peter on the private jet they had arrived on, back to New York, USA.

Iron Man had reportedly gone to Siberia and fought Captain America and the Winter Soldier. It seemed to have been a brutal battle filled with personal grudges.

He saw Iron Man again after getting off the plane in New York, USA.

However, Iron Man didn't go into detail about what had happened.

Peter could only vaguely guess from the occasional low mood that Iron Man displayed.

Iron Man didn't make any further arrangements for him either.

Although he had performed admirably in this incident, Iron Man probably took Peter's studies into consideration and didn't want him to put too much energy into the superhero "career" – if it could even be called a career.

Anyway, on the ride back, Iron Man kept emphasizing to Peter that he should study hard and stop thinking about unnecessary things.

Peter could only respond with a series of "uh-huhs" and "yeahs," just to brush it off.
