EXT – WOLF MANOR - DRIVEWAY – SUNSET
Anna arrives home in her limo, looking sad before sundown.
She shares the bad news with her family.
ANNA
Still no sign of Randy.
DESTINY
Hey, we'll find him. Heck, he's probably trying to find us as we speak.
ANNA
Where's Mrs. Young?
Oliver points to the next room.
OLIVER
Over there.
Anna goes to see Mrs. Young.
ANNA
Mrs. Young. As usual, we will rescue people tonight, but there's still no sign of Randy.
If we return tonight without him, I want you to call the police and tell them to look for his human form.
MRS. YOUNG
Yes, ma'am.
After speaking with Mrs. Young, Randy's family goes to bed to get well-rested for the night.
EXT – TRUCK - MOVING – NIGHT
Randy, Eliza, and Ace ride in a truck heading towards Randy's house.
The driver turns left at a stoplight, heading in the wrong direction.
RANDY
Oh no, we're heading in the wrong direction.
ACE
Then we've got to get off.
ELIZA
One problem with that.
Randy and Ace look ahead and see the truck is heading onto the freeway and out of Howlsburg.
RANDY
Does anybody have any ideas?
Eliza spots a field of grass.
ELIZA
One. Jump.
Eliza jumps out of the truck and lands in the field.
Ace jumps next and lands in the same field, further down.
Eliza and Ace run after Randy, hoping to catch up.
ELIZA
Randy, jump, it'll be okay.
Randy hesitates but jumps out of the truck into the field.
He drops the moonstone ring, hurts himself on landing, and becomes unconscious.
Eliza and Ace find Randy and consider how to help him.
Eliza finds the moonstone ring; it is not glowing.
She keeps the ring for Randy until he wakes up.
When Eliza returns to Randy, the moonstone glows again.
ELIZA
That's odd. It wasn't glowing when I found it.
ACE
We'll figure it out later. Currently, we need to get Randy some help. And I know how.
Ace jumps onto Eliza's back, turns around, and starts wagging his tail.
ACE
Howl.
ELIZA
Why?
ACE
Just do it.
Eliza starts howling while Ace wags his tail.
EXT – ROADSIDE – NIGHT
A car spots Eliza and Ace howling and pulls off the road.
A man and a woman, Emily and Freddie, exit the vehicle.
Eliza leads them to Randy, with Ace on her back.
They see Randy wounded and unconscious and decide to help.
Emily and Freddie pick Randy up and carry him to their car.
The moonstone ring glows as they pass Eliza and Ace, then dims when Randy gets in the car.
Eliza and Ace jump into the car before the door closes.
EMILY
Oh, no. You two can't come along.
Eliza growls at Emily.
FREDDIE
They must be good friends if they want to tag along. Come on.
EMILY
Fine.
Emily closes the door and drives them to the vet.
INT – VET'S OFFICE - HOWLSBURG – DAY
The vet performs a DNA test on Randy to determine his condition.
The vet sees Randy's back paw is bruised but not broken.
Randy hit his head and knocked himself out; he will be unconscious for a few hours.
DR. FRANCIS
That's weird. According to this, he's one-third dog, one-third boy, and one-third wolf.
EMILY
So, you're saying we saved a wolf, not a dog.
DR. FRANCIS
Could be either, but we're unsure. We'll have to keep him here until he wakes up.
We'll give him some medicine to heal his bruise, but we'll wrap it up while he's asleep.
Emily and Freddie notice Eliza and Ace giving them sad puppy dog eyes.
EMILY
Your friend will be alright. The doctor said he'll be asleep for a few hours, and they'll heal his bruised paw.
The vet wraps Randy's back paw in a cast.
The vet notices a W crest on Randy's watch and examines it with a magnifying glass.
DR. FRANCIS
This must be like his collar. Only it's around his wrist, not his neck.
EXT – MAX'S CAR - PARKING LOT – NIGHT
Hunter finds Max on the phone in his car.
HUNTER
Listen, Mr. Wolf, an Alaskan Malamute stole my ring.
MAX
What's that got to do with me?
Hunter reaches into the window, but Max rolls it up.
HUNTER
I intend to find out.
Police grab Hunter and throw him to the ground.
Hunter quickly reaches into Max's limo and plucks a hair.
HUNTER
Thank you.
Police escort Hunter away while Max continues his phone call.
MAX
A dog stole his ring? What an idiot.
INT – VET'S OFFICE - WAITING ROOM – DAY
Randy is still unconscious at the vet.
EMILY
He's handsome when you get past the wolf part.
Emily starts singing to Randy.
Eliza is shocked to hear Emily singing to Randy.
Freddie watches Emily sing while Eliza's mouth drops.
Randy begins to wake up as sunlight enters the room.
Emily quickly leaves before Randy sees her.
The vet arrives and greets Randy.
DR. FRANCIS
Well, he's finally awake.
The vet gives Randy medicine for his bruised paw.
Emily and Freddie bring Randy to the waiting room, where Ace and Eliza wait.
INT – VET'S OFFICE - WAITING ROOM – DAY
Randy walks up to Ace and Eliza and asks what happened.
The moonstone ring glows as Randy approaches.
ELIZA
You took my advice and jumped out of the car we were riding in, but your fall was more problematic than ours.
You hurt yourself and became unconscious.
We signaled for help, and the humans who brought you here wrapped up your leg because you bruised it.
You also knocked yourself unconscious and have been out for twelve hours.
RANDY
Twelve hours?
EMILY
Maybe we could bring these three home.
FREDDIE
We could bring the puppy and Golden Retriever, but we can't bring the Alaskan Malamute; according to his silver watch, he already has an owner.
EMILY
Then we'll have to take him back.
Randy thinks about what Freddie said.
RANDY
Silver watch?
Randy looks at his watch and wonders if it is why he hasn't been able to change back into a human.
Randy tries to bite off his watch, but Emily stops him.
EMILY
Now, boy. If you take that off, we'll never be able to find your owner.
Emily and Freddie put Randy, Eliza, and Ace in cages.
The three start to panic and bark for help.
EXT – EMILY AND FREDDIE'S CAR – DAY
Emily and Freddie put the cages in their car and head to Randy's house, knowing what the W on his watch means.
