Under Dane's persuasion, who loved to watch a good show, Clark finally agreed.
The most important thing was that the girl had actively challenged him; wouldn't it make him seem cowardly if he didn't accept?
Clark was only 26, and he had strong self-esteem!
Dane quickly entered spectator mode. He clapped his hands, and the surrounding scenery instantly changed.
This time, it was a place shaped like an ancient Roman coliseum.
However, compared to the one on Earth, this coliseum was much vaster, enough for two "gods" to wreak havoc.
Dane sat in the best viewing spot, with a parasol, cocktails, fruits, and snacks aplenty.
He even acted as a referee. He pointed to his throat and activated a booming spell:
"Ladies and gentlemen, the first fighting competition is about to begin!"
"Has he always... been this lively?"
Diana looked at Dane in the stands, a question mark slowly forming above her head.
"You mean 'asking for a beating,' right?"
Clark said with a helpless smile.
"I think, it's alright."
Diana's answer was unexpected.
But this place, this setting, really reminded her of her days on Themyscira, where such fighting competitions were often held.
Diana felt the passion for battle after a long time. She tore off her casual clothes, revealing the Champion's Armor underneath. Beneath her blue battle skirt were long legs, and in her left and right hands, she held the godfire sword and the Bracelets of Submission.
Seeing Clark's empty hands, she asked curiously, "You're not using weapons?"
"I don't need weapons."
Clark confidently puffed out his chest.
"Oh? I hope you're still this confident in a moment."
Diana thought the other party was looking down on her, and she felt a little angry.
She leaped ten meters, the godfire sword descending towards Clark with awe-inspiring divine power.
Dane was engrossed. He already had a BGM in his head. If there were loudspeakers broadcasting it widely now, the atmosphere would be excellent.
Acting on impulse has always been a good quality of Dane's. He snapped his fingers, and suddenly four large loudspeakers appeared in the coliseum, blaring urgent drumbeats and stirring music.
It was the song "Wonder Woman's Wrath"!
"What the..."
Clark had intended to take the sword strike head-on, but a sudden sense of danger enveloped his entire body.
He stepped back, and the godfire sword, swift as the wind, cut through his casual clothes, revealing his blue battle suit underneath.
Clark looked at her in shock. He had just had a premonition that this sword could actually cut through his body!
He no longer dared to be careless. He tore off his outer casual clothes, revealing the striking "S" on his chest.
Diana charged again, thrusting her sword, but her speed was clearly a bit slower than Superman's, and that slight difference was enough for him to avoid the sword tip.
Clark then threw a punch, but Diana anticipated his move and blocked it with her Bracelets of Submission.
Even so, she was sent flying by Clark's invincible strength, crashing into the coliseum's spectator stands.
In the ruins, Diana finally understood what Dane meant by "incredibly strong." Even Hercules probably wouldn't be much more powerful than this, would he?
"Are you alright?"
Clark flew over, somewhat nervously.
"I'm fine, let's continue!"
Diana climbed out of the rubble as if nothing had happened, looking at Clark with some excitement.
"You really are strong!"
"You're amazing too."
Clark spoke truthfully. Besides Dane, this was the first time he had encountered someone who could fight him without being harmed.
Dane saw more clearly from the stands. Wonder Woman's combat experience and skill were definitely superior to Clark's.
But her base attributes were a bit weaker. Being a demigod gave her superhuman physical qualities, but these qualities clearly couldn't compare to a Kryptonian's.
However, Wonder Woman had too much divine gear. The Champion's Armor was equivalent to a wearable bio-force field, protecting her from ordinary physical attacks and enhancing her physical abilities.
The Bracelets of Submission could effectively block energy attacks, and they contained a rule-based property: as long as the shield was intact, the person behind it would not be harmed by any energy or physical attack.
The godfire sword, a divine sword capable of cutting at a subatomic level, was even enough to penetrate a Kryptonian's bio-force field.
Instead of calling it the godfire sword, "All-Sunderer" might be more appropriate.
The Guardian Silver Bracelets could absorb external damage and store it, releasing a powerful Impact when the bracelets struck each other.
The Tiara of the Stars, which looked like a mere ornament, could be used as a boomerang and was incredibly hard.
Add to that the Lasso of Truth and the Winged Sandals, and she was practically armed to the teeth. Her unfortunate War God brother didn't die in vain.
Moreover, Dane also knew that as Zeus's biological daughter, Diana could also unleash Zeus's divine lightning at critical moments, and his lightning probably wouldn't have much effect on Diana.
However, Diana wasn't without flaws. Her combat techniques were all learned from the Amazons, and Amazons couldn't fly.
So they fought by relying on the power of the Earth. Air combat would definitely be a struggle because they couldn't leverage their strength.
Also, despite enhancements, her absolute speed still had a significant gap compared to Superman or Shazam.
The reason she could currently go back and forth with Clark was because she was guiding the battle rhythm, allowing her to always anticipate his moves.
If Clark seriously used his super-brain, he should quickly figure out these key points, but based on Dane's understanding of him, it would be tough.
Because Clark wasn't a warrior; he wouldn't actively look for ways to defeat an opponent, especially when that person was his teammate.
But he was also subconsciously absorbing Wonder Woman's combat techniques, incorporating useful ones into his own repertoire.
So Diana soon found herself unable to land effective blows on her opponent.
Clark protected himself like a tortoise shell, and his occasional attacks effectively disrupted her battle rhythm.
This contained considerable combat wisdom, but it wasn't what Diana wanted.
She quickly felt a bit frustrated, so she stopped her offensive.
"This isn't even a fight!"
Clark didn't feel anything wrong, instead he was puzzled:
"Aren't we sparring?"
"Clark, you suck at fighting! My grandma could fight better than you!"
Dane jeered from the stands. This spar indeed lacked excitement.
Perhaps it was the complete lack of hostility, or perhaps he knew in his heart that Diana's abilities were not as good as Dane's, so he didn't dare to fight as freely as he did when sparring with Dane.
Heat vision was useless, freeze breath was useless. He didn't even fly up to use air superiority to bully his opponent.
Hearing Dane's taunt, Clark grabbed a giant rock, weighing a ton, from the ground and threw it towards the stands, cursing as he threw it:
"Shut up, you! I haven't even settled the score with you for turning on the music!"
Seeing the boulder approaching, Dane shattered it with a bolt of lightning, unconcerned, and retorted:
"You're going to make Diana question the Justice League's strength."
Clark was so angry that veins bulged on his forehead, and he felt his blood pressure rising.
Diana envied their friendship. She hadn't experienced such an emotion in a long time.
But she still challenged Dane.
"Then why don't you demonstrate the Justice League's strength?"
Dane didn't shy away. He flew down into the coliseum, and as he passed Clark, he raised an eyebrow at him, making Clark want to "have a go" with Dane right then and there.
"You should go up there. This is my stage now."
Dane snapped his fingers, and Clark was instantly teleported to the stands, exactly where Dane had been, with all those things still there.
Sorry, having magic really lets you do whatever you want.
Helpless, Clark had no choice but to sit down and watch the show.
Diana assumed a battle stance, ready for anything. Dane made the first move, his hands suddenly emitting lightning that struck her.
He attacked without warning, as if just raising his hand, truly feeling sudden, but Diana still defended herself.
"Yes, this is what a fight feels like!"
In battle, to win, one can go to any lengths, as long as it's effective.
If groin shots and eye gouges were effective, Wonder Woman would use them too.
However, when sparring, she wouldn't use such underhanded tactics, so Diana fully displayed her Amazonian combat skills.
Dane had already watched her fight from the stands, so he handled it with ease.
He, like Clark, had absorbed some of Diana's combat techniques, but he was more inclined to offense, so the two engaged in a fierce battle.
A thunderous roar echoed through the coliseum, as if threatening to shatter the entire sky.
