Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 Poison Ivy

Jason was on a killing spree!

All villains he encountered along the way, regardless of their role, would surely meet their "death" if he ran into them!

Soon, the private armed forces' front line completely collapsed.

Once they discovered that a superhero would also kill, most villains' first reaction was to run!

So everyone deeply regretted not having an extra pair of legs, but their backs turned to Jason only made it easier for him to pick them off.

Jason was happily calling out names.

What he learned in the League of Assassins was not only cold weapons and combat techniques but also various methods of using firearms.

His marksmanship might not be said to be infallible, but it could be said that every shot hit its mark.

Especially with the nano-suit that could combine firearms at will and the lock-on aim, he was practically a God of Slaughter incarnate.

Even Punisher from next door would have to call him "Big Brother."

Jason now only felt exhilarated. The frustration of having to let criminals go in the past, and the powerlessness in the face of victims' helpless eyes, were all swept away by the muzzle of his gun!

"Who exactly are you?!" someone couldn't help but demand.

"I. Am. Vengeance!"

Dane, in Wayne Manor, quickly recorded this, especially Jason's line, "I am Vengeance."

"Classic of classics, Batman's classic line, a tribute, that is."

Jason was enjoying his killing spree, but soon, Batman, following the smoke of battle, arrived.

He saw a masked man slaughtering private soldiers and, without thinking, immediately attacked Jason.

He threw several Batarangs, which arced towards Jason's position.

Jason was not polite either; he directly shot down all the Batarangs.

At the same time, his voice, altered by a voice changer, came from beneath his mask.

"Look who it is? It's the great Batman, sir. What are you doing?"

Batman glided to a stop in mid-air, landing in front of Jason.

"Who are you? Why are you killing them?"

"Me? I am a dead man from hell. You can call me Arkham Knight."

Batman seemed to react to "Arkham," which Jason keenly noticed.

"Yes, you know very well, very well what kind of things are in there."

"I really don't understand why you just refuse to kill these scumbags."

"If you had done so before, none of this in Gotham tonight would have happened."

"I never execute anyone unilaterally. That's the bottom line."

"Hypocrite!"

Jason suddenly stepped forward, kicking out. Batman raised his arms, blocking the blow.

He assessed that the kick was very powerful.

Jason didn't stop. As soon as one foot landed, the other lifted, kicking away Batman's arms, then smashing a punch into his face.

He continued: "And you lie!"

Jason continued to press his advantage, fully displaying the techniques of various martial arts styles he learned in the League of Assassins.

Batman had lost the initiative and found it difficult to turn the tide.

And it was undeniable that after more than half a year of inactivity, his condition had indeed declined.

But Batman still possessed a brilliant mind. He threw a smoke bomb during a lull in Jason's attack, and Jason instantly lost his vision.

Batman had activated his infrared goggles in advance, taking the opportunity to deliver a heavy blow to Jason.

He punched Jason hard in the mask.

The moment he was attacked, Jason also activated his infrared mode.

He was pushed back by Batman but feigned still being blind. When Batman approached, he suddenly counterattacked, sending him flying.

"It's useless. Your little tricks have no effect on me at all!"

Batman climbed up from the ground, his deep voice suddenly saying:

"Really?"

Jason suddenly heard a "beep-beep" sound. He looked down and saw a Batarang stuck to his chest.

"When?" He had just thought that when the Batarang suddenly burst out with a strong light.

This was a flashbang!

Batman took the opportunity to deliver a flying kick but hit nothing.

He quickly looked around and saw Jason being dragged away by a black thin rope, hanging by one hand.

He hadn't been blinded by the flashbang and had found a retreat in advance.

Batman clenched his fists. The enemy knew him very well; he was certain of that.

But who could it be?

"From hell…?" Batman tried to find clues from that sentence.

Jason didn't linger; he continued to the next location.

The private soldiers there had been mostly killed by him. Someone, in their panic, revealed one of Scarecrow's safe houses.

He quickly arrived at the location mentioned in the confession, only to find Poison Ivy inside.

Only one guard was watching Poison Ivy, and Scarecrow's face was on a large screen behind her.

"Well, well, well, can you tell me who you are?"

Scarecrow looked directly at Jason through the large screen, seemingly trying to see through his mask.

"You're dressed very much like a certain bat, but you don't seem to be the guest I'm waiting for."

"But you must have some connection to him."

Scarecrow was lost in thought.

Jason ignored his soliloquy and instructed the AI in his combat suit, intending to directly track Scarecrow's signal source.

"That won't do. Even if you're just a spoiler, you must follow the rules of the game."

It seemed Scarecrow had capable people on his side, as he quickly discovered Jason's small maneuver and immediately cut off communication.

"Come slowly, little one, or I'll kill this woman!"

The private soldier left to guard Poison Ivy grabbed her and pointed a pistol at her temple.

However, Jason's marksmanship was faster. He raised his hand and, without even aiming, directly blew the private soldier's head off.

Blood and brains immediately splattered all over Poison Ivy's face, making her feel disgusted.

"What are you doing?!"

Poison Ivy, with a look of disgust, scraped the filth off her face and angrily shouted at Jason.

But Jason completely ignored her feelings; he turned his gun to point at her.

"Tell me what you know?"

"Otherwise? You're going to kill me with that gun?"

Poison Ivy sneered. If the man opposite thought she was a small fry afraid of death, he was gravely mistaken.

But the man opposite was Jason, and like Batman, he knew what Poison Ivy's weakness was.

So he put down his pistol, but Poison Ivy dared not ignore his next words.

"Either you tell me what you know, or I'll burn all the plants in Gotham right now!"

Poison Ivy stared intently at Jason. Was this bastard really not Batman?

"You win. I'll tell you everything."

Poison Ivy informed him that almost half of Gotham City's villains had united to target Batman, intending to kill him.

"You don't seem to be affected by the gas?"

Jason had clearly seen that the sealed room where Poison Ivy was held was filled with new gas. The private soldiers dared to stay inside because they wore special gas masks.

Poison Ivy said disdainfully, "His inferior gas has no effect on me. Nature is always the victor."

Jason realized that Poison Ivy's unique characteristic could help him develop an antidote for the gas.

But he was better at killing people than doing research.

As if hearing his thoughts, his communicator rang with a call. He answered it and found it was Dane.

"Send Poison Ivy to me. I'll develop the antidote. Your mission is to find Scarecrow and kill him."

"Understood."

Jason pushed Poison Ivy. Just as she was about to curse his lack of chivalry, a hole suddenly appeared in the ground and swallowed her.

Poison Ivy, who had fallen into the teleportation portal, quickly reappeared in a new place, with Dane standing before her, smiling.

"Who are you? What is this place?"

Poison Ivy appeared very wary.

"This is Umbrella Laboratory. Please relax, you are safe here."

"As for me, I don't know if you've heard of Vanguard Technology; it's my company."

Vanguard Technology?

Poison Ivy didn't usually pay much attention to the news, so she had no impression.

But her natural instincts warned her that this man in front of her was not to be provoked; he was extremely dangerous!

"Alright, it seems you don't know."

"That's okay, you just need to know that I'm a little smarter than average people, so I need your cooperation to develop an antidote for the new gas."

"What if I say 'no'?"

Poison Ivy probed.

"That would be a shame. I'll put you into a quiet sleep."

"Then I'll research your body. Perhaps you'd prefer that method?"

Dane shrugged, indicating he didn't care.

The thought of being handled without her knowledge made Poison Ivy's skin crawl.

She immediately decided, "I can cooperate, but you can't force me!"

"As you wish."

Just kidding, once you're on my turf, do you really think you're still in charge?
