In the forest a white wolf with piercing blue eyes walks majestically towards the road side when the noise of a carriage is heard. Curiously the wolf walks forward locking gaze with the owner of a grey orbs who looked outside the window of the carriage.
The wolf feels a shift. It's heart beating rapidly as only one word screams in its head "Mate".
Immediately the wolf turns and heads back into the forest striding towards a lake.
The wolf stands staring at its reflection when it hears a voice behind. "You have a beautiful wolf from your looks I guess you're a female".
The wolf turns to see the prince of their pack. Prince Aiden. She moves to leave when Aiden says "Did I scare you. Please don't leave". On a second thought he says "I'm sorry. I guess I just want someone I'll be able to talk to. You can leave If you want". Aiden says sitting on the lake bed.
Turning back the wolf walks behind a tree transforming to her human form. Asherah couldn't believe what she was about to do. She is about to approach her brother in her human form. Of course he doesn't know what she looks like. He doesn't seem fine.
'Why don't you approach him as a friend and get to know what's bugging him' Lilly her wolf says.
Sighing she says "Can I have your coat please"
Aiden looks back to see a hand waving behind a tree. He stands to quickly pull his coat and hands it over.
"Thanks" she says.
"I thought you left," Aiden says, walking to sit back on the lake bed.
Asherah wears his coat covering herself properly. She walks to sit beside Aiden on the lake bed.
"The pack seems busy preparing for the second princess coming of age ceremony"
Aiden turns to look at the girl sitting beside him taking note of her long honey brown hair and those striking emerald green eyes of hers. Her beauty was too obvious not to be noticed.
"Today is also the mating ceremony" Aiden says, making her frown as she reminisces about what happened earlier while in her wolf form.
"I love the colour of your eyes. It reminds me of one of my sisters. My favourite one". Aiden says
"Thanks,"Asherah whispers. "You mind telling me about her?"
Aiden smiles " Asherah Zev. I call her Ash, the first princess of the moon stone pack. It's saddening how I don't even know what she looks like now. I only have a recollection of her past self. She has emerald green eyes like yours. The first day she was brought to the pack I was there I got to see her mom who she bears a striking resemblance with." Aiden chuckles.
"At that time I wanted a sister so badly that I would protect but what made me want to protect her even with my life laid down was the fact that people are after her life. Although I couldn't fully understand and remember what the adults were talking about, that's the only thing I got to know." Aiden sighs.
"It bugs me how my mom still couldn't accept such a sweet girl like Ash despite not being her blood. It's been nineteen years now. I don't understand how one could hold in hatred for so long. Out of all it's only I and Mireah who cherish Ash along with father. Even though Mireah hasn't seen her, knowing she has an elder sister aside from Thea, she always bugs to see Ash but mom wouldn't let that happen and then Mireah would always throw tantrums".
It took all the strength in Asherah to not spill the tears threatening to break through in her eyes. There was a long pause before Aiden continued "Although I'm never sure I'll be able to forgive mother for what she did today".
"Why so?" she asked out of curiosity.
Aiden shakes his head. "Today I saw my father looking devastated as if he had lost all hope of living. When I inquired about it he explained to me about the peace truce formed with the kingdom of Dothan with a marriage alliance. An omega was supposed to be used as a political bridge but then mother had said to use Ash as a political bridge since she is father unfilial daughter"
At this Asherah stiffened no longer listening to what he's saying.
Aiden sighs "I can't believe My sister would be married off to the king of those blood sucking bats. Father is not in support of this but he could do nothing since it's been approved by the king of Alphas. The least my father can do is to bargain for the well being and safety for his daughter with King Lucien the king of Dothan.
"I'm sure she'll be fine" Ash manages to say not knowing what he said last.
Aiden stares at her as if trying to imprint what she looks like in his head. "Thanks for listening. Are you the crown princess of your pack?" He asks.
"No, why do you ask?"
Aiden shrugs "You know according to what I've heard only Lunas, crown princess and those destined to become a Luna have a white wolf which you have so I was curious to know" he replies.
Now that she thinks of it she doesn't know why she possesses a white wolf. She decides to ask her wolf later.
"By the way your eyes is different from that of your wolf's" Aiden points
Asherah nods her head yes it is "My eyes represent my order identity which is a secret no one knows of not even my family. But I think there are two exceptions to it"
She replies.
"You mind telling me who they are?"
"I'm sorry to keep you in the dark but it's confidential. I have to leave". She says standing to her feet.
"You didn't tell me your name. I'm sure you know who I am" Aiden says.
"There's no need in knowing my name. I'll see you again probably on the day your sister will be married. Till then". She says walking behind a tree and stripping off, turning into her wolf form. She picks up the coat with her teeth walking to hand it back to Aiden who collects it giving her a curt nod. She returns the gesture running into the woods in her wolf form.
