Asherah wakes up to the knock on her door. Sarai walks inside.
"Rise and shine lady, it's almost time for the mating ceremony. Come on, let's get you ready".
Asherah groans sluggishly, dragging her body off the bed.
Inside the main palace Grand hall the loud music changes to a soft one when Amalthea makes her presence walking steadily with chin tipped up into the hall.
Everyone's eyes latch onto Amalthea as she walks gracefully to meet her parents who stand at the other end of the hall.
Theron sets out his palm for Amalthea. She places her palm in his as he leads her to the dance floor to have her first dance with her.
After the daughter and father dance the dance floor opens to other couples for a dance.
Amalthea walks to another side of the hall, eyes glancing around searching for a particular someone when an enticing scent wafts through her nose. Feeling excited she follows the scent towards the corridors.
She sees a man with brown eyes and black hair leaning against the wall. She frowns. What's he doing here?
The man turns to stare at Amalthea with his brown eyes fluttering at her presence. He sighs leaning away from the wall turning his back at her.
"Are you going to walk away from the mate, pull Alex?"
He pause, turning to glance at her.
"You don't even like me one bit and yet you ask me that? Do you know since when I've been experiencing the mate pull and you haven't?. No. Since two years ago. And I've been putting all my heart to make you look at me even once but no you didn't and yet you're asking me this?"
She glares at him "What do you mean by that?" She asks.
Alex turns to face her. "You can't fool me Amalthea. You think I don't know how you look at me with scorn because I'm an ordinary fellow. I've known you for too long to know that you only have eyes for things that glitter and I also don't miss the way you have eyes for the Vampire king".
Alex turns to walk away tucking his hands into his pocket "Are you rejecting the mate pull Alex?" she asks, staring at his back glaringly.
"I don't want to Thea. Since I experienced the mate pull I've come to love you. Maybe if you fix yourself to become a better person we can get to know each other and work out things between ourselves but if not I'll personally reject the mate pull without as much as a second thought" he says walking away.
Amalthea stares at the empty corridors fuming in anger.
"such audacity" she snorts, turning to leave back to the Grand hall.
At another pathway, Roen and Lucien lean on the wall listening to the conversation between The princess and her supposed mate.
"It seems like you got yourself yet another lover, your highness," Roen says with a smirk.
Lucien rolls his eyes "We're alone Roen I see no reason for the title ".
Roen smirks blooms to a full lopsided grin "How can I do that sire? We are out of the kingdom, remember".
Lucien grunts "I swear to my ancestors I'll shove my palm down your throat if you don't drop the horrific".
Leaning away from the wall he says "let's get ourselves to the Grand hall, the mating ceremony will start soon. I need to find that wolf". He walks away with Roen.
At the Grand hall Amalthea takes her seat beside Aiden.
"Where have you been, Amalthea?" Theron asks.
"Dance floor". She smoothly lies, not wanting to have any discussion with anybody.
"I need to retire for the night. I feel so tired" Mireah says, dapping her lips with a kerchief.
"Aren't you going to be attending the mating ceremony?" Aiden asks.
"I'm just sixteen brother" Mireah says rolling her eyes.
"I'll have one of my guards escort you," Theron says.
"Don't worry father. I have Lucas and he's waiting for me outside. Good night". She says leaving her family to themselves.
Outside the Grand hall, Mireah walks steadily as she notice her personal guard, Lucas knight, gaze on her.
Her cheeks flushed pink when he didn't look away. She meets his gaze both gazing at each other. Lucas eyes widen in shock as he turns to leave walking hastily.
"Uhn what's with him?" Mireah says walking behind him.
