Chapter 4 - Chapter-4 The First Conflict

It was 600 AM. The megacity had n't yet completely awakened, but a heavy silence had fallen over Srinivas Rao's house. The medicine news he watched on television the former night had fully burgled him of sleep. The soberness of the news and the journalist's questions constantly replayed in his mind. Srinivas Rao, feeling his responsibility as a CI more intensively than ever, and committed to his honesty, decided to concentrate fully on the growing nano- medicines cabal in the megacity.

In front of Srinivas Rao's house, Chari awaited patiently for him. He was about 55 times old and had been Srinivas Rao's pious motorist for ten times. Always in a clean khaki livery, with a smile on his face, Chari was a family man. His eyes held numerous dreams for his son and son's future. His son was presently studying for a degree, and his son was studying for a B.A. in Computers. A strong desire had taken root in him to make his son a police officer, and his son was also studying hard for it. Chari forcefully believed that Srinivas Rao would always be like a god to him and a support for his family. Chari was now ready with the Mahindra Commander Jeep to take Srinivas Rao from his house to the police station.

As Srinivas Rao stepped out of the house with a grave expression, Chari hypercritically accredited and said," Good morning, joe!"

" Good morning, Chari," Srinivas Rao replied and sat in the jeep. Chari incontinently started the jeep. The early morning breath was affable, but Srinivas Rao's mind was filled with pressure.

A little while into the trip, Srinivas Rao started a discussion with Chari. A slight anxiety was audible in his voice.

" Chari, have you heard about the medicines issue in sodalities recently?"

Chari's hands were on the steering wheel, and he looked at the road." Yes, joe! I've heard. My son is also in a degree council, joe. He said his musketeers have also been talking about it. It's truly a intimidating thing, joe," he said, his voice easily filled with the anxiety of a father who did n't want his son to get caught up in such a thing." I am also veritably spooked for my children, joe. I am hysterical what will be to their future if they get addicted to similar medicines." The anguish and helplessness of a father were apparent in Chari's words.

Srinivas Rao gentled his shoulder and said," Do not worry, Chari. We're then, are not we? We must destroy this medicine cabal from its roots. I know your want to make your son a police officer. You'll have my full support." Gratitude and some courage appeared on Chari's face at Srinivas Rao's words. Srinivas Rao always watched for his staff and their families. That is why everyone admired him so much and treated him like their own.

Upon reaching the police station, the atmosphere was filled with the discipline and exuberance Srinivas Rao was oriented to. As Srinivas Rao got out of the jeep, the police on duty hypercritically accredited him. The respect they had for him was a testament to his honesty and work heritage. Everyone working at the police station held great affection for Srinivas Rao. They were always ready to break cases and deliver justice under his guidance.

That morning, Head Constable Murthy's face held a sense of dejection. His eyes were red, as if he had not slept all night. He was staying for Srinivas Rao with some lines in his hand.

" Good morning, joe!" Murthy accredited and said," Sir, as you instructed last night, our platoon arrested five suspicious culprits who have been involved in minor thieveries and thefts in the megacity for the once many times and put them in the cell. They're from the Blade Gang and are pickpockets, joe," he explained.

Srinivas Rao looked at his platoon, noticing the frazzle on their faces." Good work, Murthy. You all feel to have worked hard all night. Did you interrogate them? Do they've any connection to these medicines?" he asked directly.

Murthy dejectedly shook his head." That is the thing, joe. We interrogated them. But they're just small- time stealers and petty culprits, joe. It was set up that they've no connection to this medicines business," he said." Their names are. Johnny, Srinu, Babloo, Ganesh, and Ramesh. They're all common culprits, joe. They've no connections to big- time culprits," he explained, his voice filled with disappointment.

Srinivas Rao fell into study." Alright, counsel them, and if necessary, discipline them and let them go. Hmmm. Murthy, tell these five to come and subscribe at the station every day at 1130 AM and also leave. We've to take this medicines case seriously. However, it'll be dangerous not just for us, but for the entire megacity, If there's indeed the fewest slip- up then."

Murthy jounced." Sir, I've collected some records and lines about these medicines. The medicine- related cases registered in the megacity over the once six months, the details of the scholars rehabilitated, their backgrounds. everything is then, joe," Murthy said, handing the lines to Srinivas Rao.

Srinivas Rao examined the lines. His eyes were sharp, and studies were contending in his mind." Murthy, let's do one thing now. Let's first interrogate one of the council scholars who was rehabilitated history. Who among them is recovering? Who can speak? Did you find out?" he asked.

" I did, joe," Murthy replied." Sir, ten scholars were admitted to AaradhyaMulti-Specialty Hospital. It's a well- known sanitarium in the megacity, joe. Dr. Raghav, a notorious neurologist, and Dr. Keerthi, a psychiatrist who deals with medicine- related cases, are treating those ten scholars. I spoke with Dr. Raghav. One pupil, Ajay, his health has stabilized kindly

 . The croakers

have given authorization to talk to him, joe."

" also it's settled. Let's go to Aaradhya Hospital incontinently. You and two other bobbies

come with me. Every small indication is important to us in this case. Let's first see the other nine and counsel them, and also we'll go to Ajay. They're each in the same sanitarium, right?" Srinivas Rao asked.

" Yes, joe, they're each in the same sanitarium," Murthy replied.

AaradhyaMulti-Specialty Hospital, a ultramodern structure on the megacity's main road. A calm terrain, clean corridors, and the occasional hustle of nursers and croakers

. Srinivas Rao, Murthy, and two other bobbies

entered the sanitarium. The presence of the police brought some pressure to the air. The cousins of the cases looked at their appearance with surprise.

The sanitarium receptionist showed them to Dr. Raghav's cabin. Dr. Raghav, around 50 times old, with a white fleece and a calm face, looked like a elderly croaker

. His spectacles indicated his intelligence and experience. As soon as he saw Srinivas Rao, he stood up and said," Namaskaram, sir. Please have a seat."

" Namaskaram, Doctor. I'm CI Srinivas Rao. We've come to interrogate about the scholars who were admitted to your sanitarium history after getting addicted to medicines," Srinivas Rao introduced himself gravely.

Raghav soughed." It's a sad state, joe. Ten scholars were admitted to the sanitarium with severe nano- medicine goods. The condition of five of them is still critical. Three are recovering, but they have not recovered mentally. Only Ajay can talk now," he explained. He handed Srinivas Rao the medical reports and blood test results of the ten scholars.

" What's the effect of these nano- medicines, Doctor? Why are they spreading so presto?" Srinivas Rao asked anxiously.

Raghav took a pen from his office and twirled it." These nano- medicines are veritably dangerous, joe. Indeed a veritably small cure can have a severe effect on the brain. originally, they beget a feeling of happiness and excitement, but also they lead to severe depression, anxiety, and visions. They damage the brain's neurons, causing a gradational loss of memory and thinking capability. Those who get addicted to it suffer from severe pullout symptoms. That is why they come addicted so snappily," he explained in detail. His voice was filled with helplessness.

" Doctor, can we meet the other nine scholars?" Srinivas Rao asked.

" Sir, you can see them, but you can not talk to them for long. Their internal state is still not stable. Dr. Keerthi, our psychiatrist, is counseling them," Dr. Raghav explained.

Srinivas Rao, along with Murthy and two bobbies

, went to see the nine scholars. Srinivas Rao's heart pained seeing the youthful people lying weakly in those small apartments. Their parents were sitting beside them, upset about their children's future. Srinivas Rao went to each pupil's parents and said," I hope your children recover soon. I promise I'll end this medicine cabal," and gave them courage. Some of them exfoliate gashes, while others jounced in gratefulness.

Eventually, they entered Ajay's room. Ajay was weak on the bed, but fear and anxiety were easily visible in his eyes. His parents were sitting beside him, their faces showing pain and helplessness.

" Namaskaram. I'm CI Srinivas Rao," Srinivas Rao introduced himself and saluted him hypercritically." Ajay, how are you feeling now?" his voice was filled with sympathy.

Ajay said weakly," I am a little better, joe," his voice pulsing.

Srinivas Rao sat on the president next to Ajay and looked into his eyes." Ajay, we have not come then to trouble you. We need to know what happed to you. We need information about these medicines. The lives of innocent youth like you should not be ruined. Be stalwart and tell us. We'll stand by you. We'll make sure you do not face any trouble in the future. By telling the verity, you'll save numerous youthful people like you," Srinivas Rao said soothingly but gravely. Honesty and kindness were both visible on his face.

Ajay's parents also encouraged him." Tell him, son. Do not be hysterical . The joe is then, is not he? He'll cover you."

 Ajay allowed

for a while and sluggishly began to speak. Fear and remorse were mixed in his voice." There is a elderly in our council, joe. His name is Shyam. He looked like our elderly. originally, he'd give us chocolates and small gifts. He was friendly with us. latterly. he gave us these packets. At first, we took them just for fun, to try them formerly, joe. It felt veritably new. latterly, we came addicted to it. One day, without it, we felt like we were going crazy. We came slaves to it without our knowledge, joe. recently, he started dealing the packets, joe. He'd also force us to take some packets, or he'd hang to beget problems for us in council."

" Where does this Shyam live? Tell me everything you know about him," Srinivas Rao incontinently questioned, his voice steady.

Ajay told him all the details he knew about Shyam. His hearthstone, the places he constantly visited, who he met, his phone number, the social media accounts he used. everything. Srinivas Rao wrote down every small detail in his tablet.

After entering the information from Ajay, Srinivas Rao counseled Ajay and his parents for a while." Parents, just as it's important to give your children freedom, it's also important to keep an eye on them. You should always keep a watch on what your children are doing, where they're going, who they're musketeers with, what they're eating, and what they're drinking. Be their friend, but be strict about discipline. Only also will they be alright. Consider this incident a assignment. Make sure your children do not make such a mistake again," he advised brutally. Social knowledge and responsibility were apparent in his words. Ajay's parents thanked him with gashes in their eyes.

Back at the police station, Srinivas Rao accelerated the medicine case disquisition. The information given by Ajay was a pivotal advance. Srinivas Rao arranged a conference with Head Constable Murthy and other elderly officers. He explained the case and the substantiation collected so far to DGP Ramesh Varma and sought his authorization for their coming charge. The DGP, who trusted Srinivas Rao's work, gave his full support.

In the meeting hall, Srinivas Rao assembled his entire platoon. There were about 15 police officers, and their enthusiasm and respect for Srinivas Rao were easily visible.

" This case is veritably sensitive and also veritably dangerous. We must act veritably precisely and strategically. Our target is Shyam. He might be just a small pawn in this network, but through him, we can catch the real engineers," Srinivas Rao said gravely, his voice filled with determination.

He explained the plan on a large whiteboard

 * platoon 1( Undercover Team) Led by Murthy, four police officers in plain clothes must nearly observe Shyam's movements. They must stay in plain clothes for a week near his house, council, and the places he frequents to track all his movements, who he meets, and to whom he sells the medicines.

 * platoon 2( Technical Team) Two police officers must track Shyam's phone calls and online conditioning.

 * platoon 3( Provisory platoon) Three police officers must be on buttress at all times. However, they must enter the scene incontinently, If Team 1 needs any help.

 * Source of the medicines Catching the Supplier" Ajay said that a medicine consignment is supplied to Shyam formerly every month. We must stay for that time. Our main thing is to catch the dealer and the gang he goes to for that medicine consignment. We can only catch the big fish if we know where that happens," Srinivas Rao explained, his aspect

 shifting to the platoon.

" Murthy, you're in charge of this operation. I need a diurnal update. No bone

should make indeed a small mistake. The utmost secretiveness must be maintained in this case. This is about the future of our megacity's youth," Srinivas Rao clarified to the platoon. There was both a warning and stimulant in his words." Do you have any further dubieties about this plan?" he asked. As no bone

 responded, he said," Good."

Murthy and his platoon members jounced with firm resoluteness. Their eyes showed a clear sense of passion and a fierce desire to fight for justice.

Srinivas Rao was ready to probe the case more deeply. He'd only one thing in his mind to destroy this medicine cabal from its roots. But he did n't know what a great peril he was about to face. He could n't have imagined how his honesty and determination would push him and his family into such a great pitfall. A dark pall was gathering over the megacity, ready to gulf Srinivas Rao's family.
