Chapter 5 - Chapter-5 The Unknown Power

The darkness that had enveloped the megacity came favorable for the medicine cabal's operations. Indeed as the megacity was silent at night, whispers of crime were constantly heard beneath its face. As per CI Srinivas Rao's orders, Team 1, led by Head Constable Murthy, began to nearly cover Shyam's movements. For the once three days, from the megacity's busiest areas to its desolate alleys, Murthy's platoon had followed Shyam like a shadow.

Shyam, a 26- time-old jobless youthful man, was veritably smart and clever, but his rapacity for plutocrat and his hunt for easy ways to earn it pushed him into this medicine business. He started as a small dealer and sluggishly created a network among council scholars. With his smooth talk and fake benevolence, he'd attract innocent scholars, introduce them to medicines, and turn them into addicts. His only thing was to earn plutocrat, and he'd no other advanced intentions in his life.

 Day 1

Outside a well- known council in the megacity. 400 PM. scholars were coming out of the council with their bags on their shoulders, laughing and crying. Shyam stood in front of a trendy apparel store, acting like a cool person. He'd a smartphone in his hand and a Bluetooth headset in his observance. Two or three scholars were around him. The frazzle on the face of one of them, Gopi, was apparent.

Murthy, dressed as a regular middle-aged man in a dhoti and an old shirt, was standing near a tea cube, holding a glass of tea and pretending to read a review. His eyes, still, were on Shyam. Next to him, Ramesh, in the guise of a small- time handyperson, was pretending to fix his scooter's tire. Every now and also, Ramesh would look at Murthy and signal to him.

Shyam looked at Gopi, his voice slow but fascinating." What is wrong, Gopi? Why do you look so dull?" he asked.

Gopi, with tired, red eyes, looked at Shyam and replied," Brother, I could not find the packet you gave me history. I can not sleep, and my head hurts."

Hearing Gopi's words, Shyam smiled noiselessly, took a small packet from his fund, and placed it in Gopi's hand." What, man? You are giving up so fluently? Then, take this. In a nanosecond, you will be the old Gopi again." A look of excitement and relief incontinently appeared in Gopi's eyes upon entering the small packet.

 Seeing this, Murthy allowed

to himself," Disgusting! The lives of these kiddies are being ruined by these medicines," with a blend of nausea and wrathfulness.

Ramesh rumored vocally into Murthy's observance," Sir, should we catch him? He is destroying the youth."

Murthy looked at Ramesh and said," stay, Ramesh. Do not be in a hurry. Our target is not him. It's the bigger fish behind him. We need to extract the source of this medicine business. To catch him, we need to know where he goes and who he meets."

In the evening, Shyam went to a pani puri cube next to the council. There, he was seen dealing medicine packets to council scholars. Murthy, Ramesh, and the other two police officers in the platoon were spread out in the area, observing Shyam's movements. Prasad was dressed as a vegetable seller, with sweat on his face. Lakshman was pretending to be a beggar on the roadside, in torn clothes, saying," Ma'am, please give me some charity, joe. I am a eyeless man." Because of the deep pain in his voice, the people around him were actually giving him charity. Seeing this, Lakshman looked at Shyam, the reason for his disguise, and allowed

to himself," It's each because of him. He has to be arrested by us. also I will show him what the power of the police is." They were swapping information through their wireless sets and helping each other.

 Day 2

200 PM. Near the notorious City Plaza Mall. Shyam appeared in swish clothes with a small bag. He was accompanied by two youthful women and a youthful man. They looked like normal council scholars, but a kind of anxiety was visible in their eyes.

Murthy was inside the boardwalk, disguised as a security guard, holding a walkie- documentary. His beard and mustache, which he'd grown to be unrecognizable, had changed his appearance fully. He pretended to observe every person entering the boardwalk while fastening his attention on Shyam. Ramesh, as a delivery boy, was standing outside the boardwalk on his bike. He was pretending to check his bike's machine, but his eyes were fixed on the boardwalk's entrance.

Shyam looked at a youthful woman named Swathi standing next to him, and said with a laugh," What is wrong, Swathi? Why do you look so down?"

Swathi's face was pale, and she looked weak. She spoke perceptibly," Shyam, I need that packet. I can not take it presently," she contended. The strain in her voice was easily audible.

Hearing Swathi's words, Shyam laughed mockingly." Oh, so you are formerly addicted? Okay, take this," he said, gently slipping a small packet into her hand with his indicator cutlet." But flash back , I need' that' plutocrat hereafter." Cruelty was easily visible in his eyes.

 Seeing this scene, Murthy allowed

to himself," What a fraud he is! He is indeed soliciting girls into this medicine trap." He gripped his fist in wrathfulness. A look of severe frustration appeared on his face.

Ramesh, on the wireless set, vocally reported," Sir, there are three others with him inside the boardwalk. He seems to be giving them medicines as well. We've to save them from this peril."

After hearing his words, Murthy said," Observe, Ramesh. This time, we've to follow him and find out where he goes. We must stop this epidemic."

 Day 3

1200 AM. While the megacity slept, in the artificial area on the outskirts of the megacity. The area looked indeed more intimidating with old, unrestricted-down manufactories, dark walls, and rusted ministry. The light from the scattered sodium lights made the darkness appear indeed more shocking. The atmosphere was silent and tense.

Shyam came speeding on his bike on a fine road and stopped. He'd a plutocrat bag in his hand. He looked around nervously, and anxiety was easily visible in his eyes. Just also, an old truck sluggishly moved towards him. The reverse of the truck opened. A altitudinous, muscular man got out. His face was hidden in the murk, but a kind of atrocity was easily visible in his eyes. His name was Keshav. He was about 40 times old. He was extremely pious to his master and had a cruel nature. He'd not vacillate to commit any atrocity. His only thing was to execute orders without any mercy.

Keshav walked up to Shyam, looked at him with a light aspect

, and said," What is wrong, Shyam? Why are you so nervous? Did you get everything set?" The soberness in his voice was clear.

Shyam was spooked, his voice pulsing." Yes, family, I have set everything. I have brought the plutocrat for this month's consignment," he said, pushing the plutocrat bag forward.

Keshav took the plutocrat bag and counted it." Good. The consignment you need is in the truck. Take it snappily," he said. A cruel spark in his eyes made Shyam indeed more hysterical .

Shyam walked towards the truck. Outside, dozens of medicine packets were piled in boxes. Shyam took his boxes and placed them on his bike.

The entire scene was being observed from a distance, from behind an abandoned wall, by Head Constable Murthy and his platoon. This time, their disguises were designed to blend in with the darkness. Murthy was covered with an old jute sack, his face smeared with slush, pretending to be a fugitive, but his eyes were filled with focus. Ramesh was pretending to be lying in a pile of scrap, with a small camera in his hand. Prasad and Lakshman were hiding in an abandoned chalet in the distance, observing with binoculars. They had night vision binoculars in their hands. They had worked lifelessly for three days for this operation. They had nearly observed Shyam's movements and had figured out that he'd come to this place. The appetite and determination to break this case were easily visible in their eyes.

Murthy, on the wireless set, vocally said," Ramesh! Prasad! Lakshman! That man is Keshav. We saw him formerly ahead in a small case. He's an old miscreant. Now he seems to be working for a big' shot.' They're all ruining the future of our youth," he informed the platoon. The sharpness in Murthy's voice conveyed the speed of his studies.

Ramesh, through the wireless, said," Sir, he looks more like a rumbustious

 - distance than a medicine dealer, joe. He looks veritably cruel. We should not let them go at each."

Prasad advised," He's veritably dangerous, joe. We've to be veritably careful. We must put an end to this medicine business."

After hearing Prasad's words, Murthy said," Keep your munitions ready. Do not vacillate to shoot if he tries to escape, but do not take a life. We must fully destroy this medicine cabal. Our thing is to catch that' big shot' through him."

At the Police Headquarters, Srinivas Rao was in a conference with elderly officers in his office. DGP( Director General of Police) Ramesh Varma, about 58 times old, was an honest and strict person, an expert in running the police department with an forceful fist. Next to him was fresh DGP Prakash Rao, 50 times old, a smart and strategic officer. Srinivas Rao was showing them the live feed transferred by Murthy's platoon.

Srinivas Rao, showing the substantiation collected through a PowerPoint donation, explained," Sir, Shyam and his dealer, Keshav, are swapping the medicines. We've original information that Keshav is playing a crucial part in this cabal."

DGP Ramesh Varma's face turned red with wrathfulness upon hearing Srinivas Rao's words. He said gravely," This cabal's conditioning have increased a lot recently. We suspect that they're also manufacturing these medicines. Only by catching them can this business be put to an end."

After harkening precisely to the DGP's words, Srinivas Rao said," Sir, we've planned this operation veritably precisely. Our plan is to follow Shyam after he takes the consignment and, through him, catch Keshav and the truck."

fresh DGP Prakash Rao looked at Srinivas Rao courteously." Srinivas, this is a veritably dangerous operation. The people in that network are veritably cruel. You must act precisely and not take any pitfalls. You have my full support. We'll shoot fresh forces if necessary," he promised.

DGP Ramesh Varma, after hearing Prakash Rao's words, looked at Srinivas Rao and praised his work." Srinivas, I want you to succeed in this case. You must fully destroy this medicine cabal. I'm giving you complete freedom. Go ahead!" he ordered.

Srinivas Rao jounced in gratefulness and ordered his platoon to start the operation. He said on the phone," Murthy, start the operation! Be careful!"

In the artificial area on the outskirts of the megacity.

As soon as Shyam left on his bike with the medicine boxes, Murthy's platoon began to chase him. Their bikes moved quietly in the darkness, following Shyam still. When Shyam entered an alley, Murthy's platoon prepared to compass him. At the right moment, Murthy cried loudly," Shyam! Police! Surrender!"

Shyam was shocked. Fear and anxiety were easily visible on his face. He tried to run down, leaving the medicine packets there. But the police girdled him. After a small struggle, Shyam was caught. His hands were tied behind his reverse. The police looked towards the truck, but it was not there! Keshav had also faded!

Murthy was shocked. Surprise and disappointment were mixed on his face. He incontinently called Srinivas Rao and reported," Sir! Keshav has faded! The truck is gone!"

Srinivas Rao came anxious upon hearing Murthy's words. A severe urgency was heard in his voice." What? How is that possible? How could he have escaped indeed after such a scrupulous plan? Murthy, bring Shyam to the station incontinently. We must make him talk. We need to prize every detail about Keshav and that' big shot.' See how deeply embedded this medicine network is," he said with wrathfulness.

 Police Station, 1130 AM.

That day, as usual, as per Srinivas Rao's orders, the Blade Gang came to the police station to subscribe. On their faces, along with a lack of sleep, there was a blend of mischief and innocence. They inked the register, did not talk important with anyone, and quietly left the station after their work was done.

At the same time, in a secret position on the outskirts of the megacity.

The man sitting in the high leather president looked at Kala, who was standing in front of him. Kala looked at him and smiled." Yes, master. The work is done. The police caught Shyam, but Keshav did not fall into their hands. Everything went according to our plan," he said, with a cruel sparkle in his eyes.

The man laughed loudly upon hearing Kala's words. dishonesty and treason were easily visible in that laugh. He said gravely," Srinivas Rao is veritably smart. But he does not know that I am two way ahead of him. He will not be suitable to catch this medicine cabal that fluently. Shyam is just a small pawn. Indeed if he talks, there is not important detriment. The real game has just begun," he said, as his cigar bank filled the room. His real face was still hidden in the darkness, but the atrocity in his voice easily revealed his nature.

Srinivas Rao did n't know that the Shyam he'd caught was just a goat. That unknown power was one step ahead. Srinivas Rao understood that this case would not be easy. The dark pall over the megacity, the medicine cabal, was n't just a business; an unknown power, a big conspiracy, was hidden behind it. This fight was about to get much more violent.

What happed coming? Who's this unknown power? Find out in the coming occasion!
