The Church leader, Zane Lowe Wain, is a very powerful man. The documents of his first year expanding the Church wasn't very detailed, but it covers the Church history to a degree. All the way up until it became the biggest church in all of Vinya.
In this world, everything revolves in the unseen power known as mana however few possess such power- and those who do are often sold as slaves and servants. If the mages, wielders of mana, gain fame then they don't appear as slaves, but celebrities, despite still being owned.
Due to the primitive, technology of this world, power doesn't come easily, that's why Churches exist. They unite the people, forming a powerful standpoint. It brings in money from offerings, and status to those at the top of the Churches.
Zane exits the Church, meeting with a few scouts. "It'll be arriving soon, and we need a reason for it to stay here of it's own accord. Find someone cute and harmless, like a pet. I'll prepare a room. Oh- and spread the news that a sermon will take place this Sunday, despite there being one last week."
The scouts leave to do as Zane asked of them. In the meantime Zane and a few higher members of the church set up a small room, with a mattress, a barred window, and an external lock. Nothing else but pet stuff was inside. Not even a blanket or pillow.
Finally it was time to welcome it. A burly man with a sack over his shoulder entered the Church. The sack squirms around as if something alive were inside.
Zane smirks, stops praying, stands up, and faces the man. "Is that it?" His voice contained excitement and greed.
The burly man, named John King nods, sets the sack down at the foot of the door, then he leaves.
Zane wastes no time. He drags the sack to the foot of the pulpit and opens it up. Inside lies a young boy, tied up, and terrified. He looks innocent, his features seemed nearly divine, white, short, and healthy hair... Blazing blue eyes, soft, smooth, pale skin, his body seemed frail but healthy.
Zane smirks wildly. "Is it you? It is, isn't it? I'm so glad! Oh! I'm sorry, my name is Zane- Zane Lowe Wain! And your name is Connor White." He takes the gag off the boy.
The boy, still clearly terrified, "That's not my name! My name is-"
Zane shushes him, covers his mouth and grins. "No, your name is Connor White. And you, my dear immortal are now the god of the Church of Vey!"
The boy struggles against his restraints, afraid, he clearly knows nothing about this place or what's going on. But the moment Zane mentioned immortality, he started to frantically struggle. "Don't do this!"
Zane stares at the boy, his smirk gone. "My dear Connor..." He speaks calmly, but something evil lies beyond those eyes. "Don't you want to be a god?"
