Kai lifts his hand above the old man's shoulder. He slashes.
"Aghh!" the old man screams, collapsing to the ground. Kai sighs.
"That's only one blow and you're already screaming. How pitiful," he mutters, walking toward the blade stand.
Meanwhile…
A black-haired boy with plain eyes yawns in his sleep. A peaceful boy who's been raised, fed and even learnt how to fight. He sleeps for a while. Until.
"Aghhh!" Another scream from the old man. Raikou bolts upright. "Dad?"
Kai's gaze shifts from the suffering man to the plain ceiling. Above is Raikou's bedroom. "He woke up" Kai thinks.
The old man coughs blood, a grin breaking across his face. "You're finished, boy. Raikou's gonna see what you've done and when he does…"
He tries to rise, blood dripping down his face. "He'll never be your brother agai-"
Steel flashes. Kai's blade pierces his gut.
"I'm sick of your talk." He pulls the blade free, letting the man crumple. His eyes glow purple as he stabs again, driving him into silence.
"He's not gonna see me kill you," Kai growls, clapping his hands together. His eyes flick toward the stairs where frantic footsteps echo.
"It'll be Shinsu."
Purple mist erupts from Kai's body, coiling through the air. Blood drips from his hand and head as he grunts in effort. But even through his pain. He smiles.
"This is for the best Raikou. To bring us closer. I promise".
In mere seconds, the mist forms into a tall grinning demon. "Well look who needs help. Didn't know it took such effort to bring me outside of your rotten body".
Kai's eyes dim back to normal as he collapses to the floor, gaze fixed on Shinsu's cunning eyes.
"I'll make it more rotten if you don't follow these rules" Kai mutters, as he coughs blood. Shinsu sighs. "What".
Kai looks up.
"Don't touch Raikou. And don't spill a word. I'll watch". And in a instant Kai vanishes leaving Shinsu's grin turning into a forced smile. "Darn brat". A vein pops.
Raikou lands on the blood-stained floor, panting. "Dad—Da—" His voice breaks as his eyes lock on the purple haze.
Shinsu chuckles, fiddling with the blade lodged in the man's head. "That boy dares order me around… but I'll give him this. He's the only one who's given me something new. Even my other half can't. Nor that annoying prince called Toko".
