His rope entered the water with a ripple, his Nen spear entered without a ripple, and now he couldn't even enter the water, much less cause a ripple?
But as he studied everything he noticed the green clam again, while still lifeless it was also still green and not changing color.
Just then he noticed another green clam appearing from the underground passage, ignoring him and heading straight toward the dead clam.
Opening its mouth shining a green light everywhere but directed toward the dead clam, the Nen spear Roman launched was annihilated as well as the greenness of the dead clam. Turning yellow.
Roman didn't know the purpose of the colors, but he wanted to study them.
Concentrating his aura to his hands again, he emitted a fishing rod.
Casting its line, Roman controlled the lure, planning on hooking a red and yellow shell for his mission.
But as his lure successfully entered the waters the new green clam noticed it and focused its green light at it. Destroying the lure and part of the Nen string along with it.
Seeing this Roman scoffed, emitting a new string and lure for his rod.
He cast the line again but focused on the green shell, watching the direction it pointed predicting its attack. Manipulating the line and lure ahead of time to doge the green light that didn't pause until the lure grabbed a shell and successfully dragged it to the surface.
The clam was confused and halted its attacks after it exited the water, so Roman repeated the process.
Dodging the green attacks with ease, and grabbing three more shells. Two red and two yellow, he wanted a pair as well.
But he wasn't satisfied, as well as the green clam. It seems to be enraged, so Roman emitted another spear, this time with a string attached to it.
Launching it with great strength, the clam was pierced through like its brother. Pausing and beginning to fall lifelessly to the lake bed, but Roman hastily dragged it to the surface.
Though after it surfaced it wanted to descend again, as if it needed to be in the water. But Roman held it, this was similar to when he popped the bubbles of green gas. The gas would descend into the ground, probably toward water.
Though a moment later another green clam appeared inspecting the area but found nothing wrong, so it left.
These creatures were weird, and Roman needed to figure out this green energy as well as how to leave.
Sitting on the water, Roman tested a number of things until he discovered two solutions.
First the red shells surrounding the green shell would suppress the green shells energy and desire for water.
Second, he could enter the water if he kept his aura around him.
So recalling his cloak and covering himself with Nen, or Ten.
But before he continued he climbed the remaining rope, breaking through the ceiling to recover his bag. Even getting a bottle from his bag to collect some off this water.
Roman entered the water himself and explored the place through the passage within.
Exploring in ten minute intervals, before returning to catch his breath.
Roman found a number of similar rooms to the one he entered through. Filled with shells, and within two hours he found the exit.
Oddly the green clams were missing as if they would only appear if the water was disturbed.
Roman successfully escaped with loot in hand, swimming to the nearby shore and hiking to the nearest road.
Those green clams were no joke, Roman compared them to about as strong as a phantom troop member, and not a weak one.
Though whether their strength was from extreme conditions, where they could only appear and act if the unique water in their territory was disturbed. Or they were just naturally this strong due to the unique environment was unknown.
Actually Roman believed the water was a part of their ability, blocking intruders from entering, and the medium of their senses.
Believing the water in his bottle was normal water infused with Nen. But he couldn't be sure, that's why he took some with him.
Reaching the road, Roman entered Zetsu hiding his presence so even if a regular person walked by they wouldn't notice him.
Waiting an hour a car came by and Roman dashed out, landing on the roof without making a noise.
Donning his emitted cloak, he melted through the roof entered the back of the car unnoticed by the driver.
Silently marking the man and suggesting him towards a certain town. Roman got comfortable watching the sun begin to rise again, finishing the second night of his adventure.
Smiling faintly, three hours passed fast and Roman left the car as silently as he came.
But not before removing his soul mark on the man.
Roman went through the back entrance of the restaurant and to his room.
The next day Menchi and him returned to the library and entered the hunters tavern again. Ready to claim his riches.
But this time the bartender requested not only three days two weeks in advance but also a location for the transaction to occur at.
This immediately made him realize information could be traded through the hunter tavern.
While he needed to meet people to sell actual things.
Though this wasn't all, the bartender said that a buyer of one of his info would meet them on the first Friday he mentioned.
As for the other four postings for information, they weren't yet informed. Or they didn't want to alert him yet.
So almost two weeks later and Roman reappeared in the hunter tavern, this time without Menchi.
Approaching the bartender like previous times, the bartender initiated the conversation. "Find a seat and your buyer will appear."
This was different, but not outside of Romans expectations.
Turning around he found a seat at one of the few tables he usually overlooked.
There were people always sitting at these tables, their faces always shrouded and their conversations muted.
But it didn't take long for someone to magically appear in a seat opposite of him. Their face similarly shrouded.
"What do you know about Biscuit Kruger? The figure asked plainly.
But Roman had questions of his own. "How can I know you have the money?" Roman asked back.
From what he talked about with the bartender, only a conversation was initiated. Roman needed to be sure he could be paid.
"You can check your cards balance with the bartender, half has already been paid." The figure spoke, and Roman was surprised.
Doing as the figure said and indeed, Menchi's hunter license had money in it.
Yes, the hunter license also acted as a debit card.
Returning to his seat the veiled figure reappeared, this time not speaking.
But Roman knew it was the same person from before.
So he spoke up. "I know three things, two abilities and one unique trait or hobby. I want to be paid in full for each." Roman paused.
But the figure didn't react, as if in silent agreement or waiting for the first piece of information she had already insured.
So Roman revealed the first piece of information he knew. "Biscuit has two forms, a little girl form, her sealed form. And her normal rejected form, unrestrained, big and full of muscle."
With just this the figure disappeared, Roman didn't know if the figure went to pay the rest of the money and half for the next ability he knew. Or if they just left, unknown if he was even paid in full.
But the figure reappeared a moment later, speaking. "Go on."
Roman wasn't sure if they meant to check his balance or to continue speaking.
But he wanted to be sure so he got up and checked with the bartender and his balance, sure enough It had tripled.
Hunters were rich. Too rich, money was nothing to them.
Roman didn't fully understand the magic of how he was accurately connected to the correct person each time he sat down, but he didn't care.
Finding his seat against the figure materialized again, still not speaking.
"Next I'll share her unique trait or hobby, I'm sure you'll be interested." Roman paused, seeing that he wasn't interrupted as a silent confirmation he continued.
"Biscuit is as you know a gem hunter, but she doesn't just hunt gems, but cares and polishes them to exhibit their fullest beauty." Roman paused for a moment before continuing again. "And this isn't just for gems, but for talent. An obsession to hunt for talent and train them to their fullest potential."
Seeing the figure disappear and reappear again, he repeated his own actions of checking with the bartender, before returning to the table.
Glancing at the figure once again without speaking a word, Roman spoke. "The last thing I know is an ability where she summons dolls that give massages. These massages relieve exhaustion and have a strong healing effect. Where a 30 minute massage is equal to an 8 hour rest."
Roman paused, but spoke again before the figure could get up. "Also I'm not sure if this is the full extent of her ability's, but if this wasn't clear from the beginning Biscuit is a transmuter and her power is quite terrifying." He paused again before saying. "You don't need to pay me for that."
With that the figure left and Roman followed. Each of them seemingly seeing and interacting with their own bartender, but not each other.
But Roman glanced at the balance seeing over a hundred billion Jenni. The hunter world currency.
Back on earth, this would equate to one billion dollars.
To put this in perspective, in the hunter/hunter auction arc, greed island was going for 10 to 30 billion or a hundred million to three hundred million dollars.
This was only natural, the super natural was superior to what is natural.
For a normal person a hundred million to a billion was the range of money some one needed to live a lifetime without worries.
