Rion Vale's POV______
The conference room reeked of fresh polish and tension.
A long mahogany table stretched between us like a silent battlefield.
At the far end sat Evan Lee—my beautiful little kitten dressed in a crisp gray suit, every line of him sharp and deliberate. His expression was unreadable as he flipped through the project file, his lashes casting faint shadows beneath his eyes. His secretary, Arem, sat close beside him, occasionally leaning in to whisper something.
I shouldn't care.
But I did.
The way Arem's hand brushed near Evan's wrist made something territorial curl low in my chest.
I leaned back in my seat, arms folded loosely, my presence filling the opposite end of the table.
"Let's begin," I said, voice cutting through the murmurs.
My secretary, Gen, straightened instantly. "Yes, sir. We'll start with the Healthy Heart Project presentation."
