Chapter 1 - Prologue-The Book That Changed Everything

It was like any other day for Emma- eyes peeled onto her laptop screen as she tried to make sense of what she just read or she thought she did.

"What kind of bull-"

Her words got lost in translation as she quickly checked the comments.

This is not how the story ends!

Emma screamed as she scrolled through the comments, breathing heavily as her shoulders heaved up and down.

-I thought this was a love story but instead we got friend-zoned!ಠ_ಠ

-I think I read the wrong book...

-Everyone is over-reacting(._.)

-Everyone knows that this is not the end of the book...right?╯︿╰

-I think there's something wrong with the female-

Emma groaned then ran her hand across her face. She felt betrayed. She spent hours, no days, binge reading the novel and was not satisfied with the ending.

Then she fell down onto her knees, dramatically- hands pressed together as if she was praying.

"Oh dear God or anyone who is watching, let me be the one to rewrite the story. Let me be the Heroine." She cried out, closing one eye as the other poked out, "Or I can be anyone, I can guide the female lead to the right path."

Her hands pressed tightly together then she paused for a second before allowing her body to fall onto the floor.

She sighed, thinking about how stupid she was being over a story but she shook her head at the thought. She was allowed to have feelings, no matter how big or small.

Or how stu-

All of a sudden the world beneath her shook as the sky roared. Her head shot up as she quickly stood up- rushing towards the window. Then another sound irrupted from the ground that shook her apartment being.

Her body loosing balance, not anticipating the strength from the unknown force from whatever was causing the ground to react.

Before she could brace herself, her head hit the edge of her work desk.

Head pounding- Emma heard the first lighting strike a car near her, alarm going off as the lighting chose it's first victim. Then she groaned, hand pressed against her forehead.

Finally managing to get back onto her feet.

Maybe there was something wrong that she drank that day, she thought as she came face-to-face with something that would only make sense in a novel.

Glass shattered, glazing her skin as a shot of electricity ran through her. Then her body collapsed onto the floor once more before her eyes rolled back.

Groaning as Emma woke up, the first thing she noticed was the softness of her silk sheets.

Mmmm.

Then her hands stopped tracing the silk- eyes wide open.

I don't own silk sheets.

She then quickly sat up, which she regretted doing so as she suddenly felt a pulse coming from her head.

Sighing, Emma laid back, eyes wide- finally taking notice of the strangely decorated room she was in.

Using her arms to sit up right. She found herself in a four-poster canopy bed, wearing silk and lace.

For a second Emma believed that she was imagining everything. Until a black haired female walked into the room. Dressed in a maid's attire- hair pulled back into a tight neat bun.

Emma stared sheepishly at the mysterious girl who looked around the age of 18.

"Young miss, I have everything prepared." The girl said with a low voice, head down, eyes not meeting Emma's.

Emma tilted her head, studying the girl. Then her eyes spotted something. A reflection.

"Who is that?" Emma asked as she pointed at the reflection. Confused at who she was looking at.

"Uhm...that's you Young miss." The girl answered.

"No."

Emma stood up from the bed, walking towards the reflection. Before her stood a short petite girl with hair as red as flames, eyes that held two stories. One blue the other brown.

Heterochromia.

She touched the reflection. The other hand mirroring hers.

"I'm I on drugs?" She asked, head turned to the maid.

"Wha-what?" The maid stuttered- finally looking up in confusion." Young miss, I think it's time for your morning bath." She carried on after a few moments of pausing.

"What is my name?" Emma asked, softly, trying to sound as calm as possible.

The maid nervously bit her lips- eyes darting around the room then looking down once their eyes made contact.

"I-I didn't mean to anger you." The maid stuttered out as her body slightly shook.

Emma eyes widened at the change of events. She didn't know why the maid reacted like that.

"I'm sorry. Did I scare you?" Emma asked the maid as she walked to her but the maid took a step back then fell to her knees.

Then suddenly her shoulders shook. Not knowing what to do, Emma sighed.

"I mean no harm, can you please stand up." Emma asked, not approaching for encase she made it worse.

The maid sniffed while using the back of her hand to wipe her tears before looking up.

"Will...will you not hurt me?" She asked, surprised, "Not even a slap?" She added, bewildered.

"Why would I?" Emma asked then turned back to the mirror, staring at her reflection.

~Her hair was the embodiment of blood just as she was cruel in nature.~

Emma remembered a line from the book she was reading the night before, The Flames that consume.

"Because you are the Villainess of the tons." The maid muttered.

Emma's head snapped to her direction, "Huh?" She asked confused. Then suddenly she felt light headed. Her vision blurring as the scene before her become disoriented.

The maid said something but the words came out muffled.

~Sometimes it would look like flames, consuming everything in her path. Wild curls- dancing around her frame.~

~"You bitch!" The girl screamed while her hands pulled onto the Heroine's hair, "He was mine to love!"~

Emma groaned as she placed her hand against her head.

~ The crowd cheered in delight as they watched the girl before them. "Off with her head!" They screamed at the kneeling girl before them.

Lillian Thomson kneeled before the crowd. Blood dripping as her untamed curls danced with the sun.

"Today marks the end of this vile woman. Lillian Thomson ,to be behead by the request of the Capital." The crowd irrupted in cheers once again.

Lillian chuckled then laughed as tears ran down her blood stained cheeks.

"Witch!" A woman in the crowd yelled before a tomato was thrown at her, then a stone, hitting her temple causing her to groan in pain.~

Emma steadied herself by holding onto the bed frame.

It can't be.

Emma thought as the lines from the book ran through her head like a broken record. Then memories played before her. Memories she did not remember reading. Memories of Lillian's life before everything. Before her ruin.

Then she found the mirror once again.

There stood Emma- no- Lillian Thomson. Staring right back at her. Eyes wide as she tried to make sense of the situation before the world before her flipped upside down.
