The Outskirts of the Ruins Island.
All 20 CP0 members, including Rob Lucci and Spandam, were conducting reconnaissance on the outskirts of the island. They dared not go too deep before achieving their objective, fearing detection by that man.
However, a sudden roar of thunder erupted from the center of the island. More than a dozen bolts of lightning struck from the sky, eerily reminiscent of the scene when Marinford was struck by lightning.
As the thunder appeared, all 20 CP0 members emerged from the shadows and dashed toward the core ruins at extreme speed.
"Have Victor and the others already started fighting Aokiji?"
Spandam, lacking strength, relied on Lucci to keep up. Lucci had perfected the Six Styles of the Navy, far surpassing Spandam's abilities.
"It must be that the undercover agent Hashimoto Koki has been exposed. A fight between Aokiji and Victor wouldn't be so quiet."
Rob Lucci replied coldly. "Spandam is such an idiot he can't even figure that out. How is he CP0? Killing him wouldn't be a pity."
Whoosh!
As Lucci and Spandam moved at high speed, a strange black shadow suddenly surged toward them. Lucci instinctively dodged, but Spandam wasn't so lucky.
A bloody calf slammed into him, knocking him to the ground.
"Damn it! Whose legs are these? They're… flying at me?!"
Spandam scrambled to his feet, threw Hashimoto Koki's calf to the ground, and foamed at the mouth.
Lucci, watching Spandam, felt disgusted. This man was insipid and pathetic. To intimidate Nico Robin, he had actually cut off the old woman's head and hung it around her waist. That might have been tolerable, as she was a remnant of O'Hara—but Spandam's strength was mediocre.
Lucci even felt it was a shame that such a man was part of CP0.
"If you make another stupid mistake near me, I'll kill you—even if it's against the rules!"
Lucci snorted coldly, yanked Spandam up, and increased his speed.
"Hmph! When I become your boss, I'll torture you to death!"
Spandam seethed inwardly. Once, in CP9, he had been superior to Lucci and the others. Now, temporarily under Lucci's command, he vowed to regain his authority someday.
"Aokiji, it's you after all. But can't you hide yourself for a moment?"
Victor and the others soon reached the core ruins. They found former Navy Admiral Aokiji sitting on a stone slab, drinking soda. When he saw them, he waved.
The two Revolutionary Army soldiers tensed immediately. This was a former admiral—the Navy's elite fighter.
Nico Robin also looked nervous, arms crossed in front of her chest, ready for combat. The last time they had met Aokiji, the entire Straw Hat crew had nearly been lost at sea.
Even Enel stopped yawning. His last battle with Red Dog had taught him caution—the blue ocean was dangerous.
Only Victor acted casually, as if Aokiji were a friend.
"Ah, Victor, long time no see. I've been commissioned by the World Government to kill you and Nico Robin!"
Aokiji spoke bluntly. Exhaling, the soda in his hand froze into an ice sculpture, shattering into chips.
Though no longer an admiral, Aokiji enjoyed freedom, able to carry out his justice more comfortably.
"Hahaha, Aokiji, you're more relaxed now. But shouldn't you thank me? I gave Akainu a beating… and your legs are still intact!"
Victor spoke firmly, showing no fear. He knew that to persuade Aokiji to join them, he had to display strength.
He was relieved to see Aokiji's legs still intact, despite hideous burn marks from the Dajiganwan punch at Marinford. Though it hadn't changed the battle's outcome, it had affected the process.
"Ah la la, if we weren't enemies, I'd love to hear your take on the Battle of Daughter Island!"
Aokiji laughed.
"Aokiji, you've left the Navy! Why attack us? Are you declaring war on the Revolutionary Army?!"
The two revolutionary soldiers gripped their swords. Though not cadres, they were loyal and would not retreat.
"Declare war? Not interested. I just accepted the World Government's commission."
Suddenly, Aokiji vanished and rushed toward the two soldiers, a chill spreading around him.
Pong!
Just as their lives were in danger, a tall figure—Victor—stood in front of them, colliding fiercely with Aokiji. Half of Aokiji's body turned to ice, Victor's body surged with thunder, and the two forces clashed. The ground beneath them shattered, yet neither yielded an inch.
"Stopped it… stopped it… Victor… so powerful."
The revolutionary soldiers stared in awe. Though they knew Victor's 2.6 billion bounty, they had never witnessed his true strength. Facing Aokiji, he was not inferior to a former Navy admiral.
A strange light flashed in Nico Robin's eyes. Victor was younger, yet his strength was terrifying.
"Victor, run now! You won't be able to stop him!"
Aokiji warned during the clash.
"Run?! You won't kill anyone today! I'll make you take another one with you!"
Victor's expression hardened. Surging thunder forced Aokiji back instantly.
"Enel! Robin! Revolutionary Army, get ready! The Celestial Dragons' dogs are coming!"
"Understood, Captain!"
"Good!"
Lightning burst from Enel as all 20 CP0 members finally arrived.
