Chapter 37 - The Troublemaker

Liana shook her head she felt uncomfortable staying at home, especially after the chaos she had created.

"No, Mr. David," Liana refused politely but firmly. "I want to work. I'm fine this is just a small injury. I don't want my work to be delayed," Liana explained.

David looked at her sharply. "Liana, this is an order. As your boss, I am not allowing you to come in...."

"I know you are my boss," Liana interrupted, trying to maintain professionalism. "But I must show that I am well and can be responsible for my job. I just need a moment to clean up and get ready, and after that, I promise I'll go straight to the office."

David fell silent. Liana rarely defied his orders. David saw the determination in Liana eyes. He knew Liana didn't want to appear weak or take advantage of the situation to be lazy.
