An hour after the accident, Ryoken was called to Akaba's office. Entering the office, he stood in front of Akaba who was sitting in his chair.
"You called for me sir?"
"Yes. There's an emergency, one that requires the power of my best student."
Ryoken took a seat without waiting for Akaba to give him permission "So why didn't you call Zane?"
"I've seen your duel against Zane through the Surveillance cameras. Your skills are superior to him. Now I want you to follow me while I explain the situation to you."
He then walked towards the bookshelf near his desk, pulling a book out halfway.
The bookshelf trembled before moving away, showing a line of staircases that went downwards.
Ryoken followed Akaba as he began to explain "Tell me young man, have you ever thought what would happen if there was another dimension? A dimension in which for example you weren't a duelist."
"Hmm can't say I'd thought about it. Dueling is the joy of my life, so I can't imagine a world without it."
"I see. Well putting that aside and getting back to dimensions, our world isn't the only dimension that exists."
"In theory that's true." Ryoken added.
"I'm not talking about some theory. Different dimensions do exist. And for that we have proof, one that is related to the mission I'm giving you."
"I still don't understand." Ryoken said, playing dumb. He knew what Akaba was getting at, and obviously had to act like he was clueless about it.
"Other than our own dimension, there are 3 other dimensions. If we were to call our own dimension the Fusion dimension, the others would be standard, XYZ and Synchro dimension."
"Cool names, especially the XYZ one."
"Each dimension has its own type of extra deck cards. Ours is as you know fusion. The two previously mentioned ones have Xyz and Synchro summoning. Obviously these are new to you so you might not believe my words."
Ryoken shook his head "No I can imagine that. If there exists another dimension, then dueling in that dimension must have something unique to it too. But why tell me all of this?"
Akaba sighed "Don't be impatient and let me explain it to you. I previously tried to communicate with other dimensions, especially the XYZ dimension. But what I found is that they were hostile, knowing about us all along and planning to wager war on us in the dark."
Ryoken raised a brow, internally laughing at the bullshit that Akaba was making up and telling him.
It was Akaba who attacked the XYZ dimension not the other way around. But he decided to continue his act and reacted with a shocked expression.
"What do you mean professor? They just plan to attack us for no reason?"
Finally they reached the end of the stairs, standing before the metallic wall and entrance.
"I do not know why they are planning to do that, but if they do so, not only our dimension, but other dimensions will be in trouble. For that reason we plan to prepare our own army of duelists to counterattack."
If it was anyone else from this dimension, they would have bought his words and would have thought what a noble and great person Akaba is.
But to Ryoken they meant nothing. Because he knew exactly the kind of man Akaba was.
"I see. That's a lot to take in... I can't believe you've been shouldering this responsibility for this long professor, you have my respect!" He said while slightly bowing.
Akaba smiled briefly, happy that Ryoken had bought his words and trusted him. "If you understand the gravity of this matter, then I want you to keep whatever you will see as of now a secret."
Ryoken nodded before Akaba took out the ley card and held it in front of the iron door, before the door parted away.
They both entered the laboratory, The Doktor already waiting eagerly for them.
"You must be the talented student Professor Akaba mentioned! Welcome welcome!"
Ryoken put on a fake smile shaking the Doktors hand, controlling his anger and disgust. It was hard to control himself and contain his feelings to not kill the guy in front of him.
If Akaba was a villain that he needed to get rid off, then Doktor was a piece of dog shit that he had to dump in a trash can.
He could at least respect the dedication Akaba had to pull this all off, but Doktor? never.
The single act of using those weird and disgusting parasites he created to control people was vile enough for Ryoken to put aside playing card games and kill the guy with his own hands.
"I'm Ryoken Kogami sir. Nice to meet you."
"Just call me Doktor. you know since I'm a doctor and all." He said, chuckling in a sick manner.
Akaba coughed to get their attention "As I was explaining to you young Kogami, we planned to counter attack. We made a project named Project Quattro. In this project we saved four innocent souls from the hands of the XYZ dimension."
He explained as he showed the large tubes in front of Ryoken, his eyes Widening as he saw the people inside them.
'Joey... Jesse and Shark... these guys shouldn't even exist...'
"Judging by your shocked expression, it looks like you can see the condition they are in. When we found them they were all bruised up and used up like test subjects. Doktor here saved them all and has been curing them till they are healthy enough to be awakened."
Ryoken clenched his fist, not believing what he was seeing. These bastards had definitely kidnapped the three characters he had lots of memories from when he grew up, and planned to use them as their own soldiers.
But then something hit him, remembering the name the professor said. Quattro was the Italian word number 4, meaning that there had to be one more person.
If they had taken Joey from the standard dimension, Jesse from the Fusion dimension and Shark from the XYZ dimension, that meant one person is left out, which had to be from the Synchro dimension.
"Now here's the mission I had for you. Originally we saved four people, but as you can see there's only three in here. One of them awakened and thought she was still in the XYZ dimension, so she obviously ran away in fear."
'So it's a girl... a girl from the Synchro dimension. It can't be Akiza right?
But his eyes saw the name scratched on the bottom of the tube, Code name Black Rose, which proved what he thought to be true.
"Do I have to bring them back?" He asked.
"Yes. Try to defeat her in a duel and feed her this. It would stabilise her condition." The Doktor said, giving a black coloured pill to Ryoken.
'Ryo... those pills have a parasite in them. Be careful.' Medea Warned him as she appeared beside him.
Before coming to the laboratory, he had instructed her to observe and look around carefully and if she found anything suspicious, tell him.
'Thanks Medea. While I'm gone try and see if you can figure out a way to break out those three guys in the tube.'
Medea nodded before disappearing. Ryoken looked at the pill in his hand skeptically "Doktor what's in this? It's not dangerous for her health right?"
"Of course not! I carefully made this medicine to contr- I meant to cure people. It definitely works!" He explained with a rather enthusiastic tone.
"Go on young man. We don't have much time. Just look for a redhead girl. I believe in your skills."
Ryoken looked at him briefly, a hint of annoyance in his expression.
They just tell him to go and find someone and don't even give him a hint on where she was? The audacity.
"Try to look for her in the forest. That's the direction she ran off." Doktor Said.
"I see. I'll contact you when I find her."
With that Ryoken went on his way to find Akiza, the prized waifu of Yu-Gi-Oh fans.

Recently writing has become a bit difficult, not that I don't find the time for it, rather writing chapters without any duels involved is actually a bit boring hence why I uploaded a bit late. Next few chapters have duels, so I would probably write them faster and easier.
Anyway so how's life been going guys? Personally it's going dog shit. Lots of things going wrong but it is what is. Either I habe to get through it or skill issue.
