# Chapter 28: Melodious VS Phantom Knights (Part 1)
A pale blue flower bloomed before Yuzu, and from its center, a blue-haired diva in a long dress gracefully emerged.

"It seems she really isn't Ruri. Ruri would never learn the enemy's summoning methods," Shun said with a frown inside the lounge, watching Yuzu perform a Fusion Summon.
"I told you she wasn't Ruri, but you wouldn't believe me," Yūga Hōzumi said.
In the audience stands, the members of the Yusho Duel School couldn't help but cheer as they watched the heroic and valiant Yuzu skillfully use her Fusion Summon.
"That's it! Make the Yusho Duel School's name famous!" Yuzu's father and the head of the Yusho Duel School, Shuzo Hiiragi, said passionately.
"I'm getting the shivers!" a certain chubby kid said, covering his face.
"If I control a 'Melodious' monster, I can Special Summon this card!" Yuzu, on the field, didn't stop there, revealing another card.
"I Special Summon Sonata the Melodious Diva!"
Beside Bloom Prima, a green-haired diva in a sky-blue long dress appeared.
"As long as the Special Summoned Sonata is in the Monster Zone, all Fairy monsters on my field gain 500 ATK and DEF."

Sonata the Melodious Diva ATK: 1200 → 1700
"Battle! Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir attacks The Phantom Knights of Break Sword!" Yuzu waved her hand, entering the Battle Phase.
The blue-haired diva, surrounded by a riot of flowers, sang out, sending a tornado of sound waves sweeping toward the phantom knight.
"At this moment, I activate the Continuous Trap Card, Phantom Knights' Fog Blade!"
"I target Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir on your field! As long as this card is in the Spell & Trap Zone, the targeted monster cannot attack, cannot be targeted for attacks, and its effects are negated. When that monster leaves the field, this card is destroyed."
A giant, phantom sword descended from the sky, striking the singing diva. Her form instantly became ethereal, and her song abruptly ceased.
"A beautiful defense! Duelist Yuto has nullified Duelist Yuzu's attack with a single Trap Card!" the Commentator Uncle announced passionately.

"Then, I Set one card and end my turn." With her attack thwarted, Yuzu had no other way to get through Break Sword's defense, so she had no choice but to end her turn.
Before drawing a card, Yuto looked at Yuzu. "You truly look just like Ruri... but to keep you away from this battlefield, I have no choice but to go all out. I'm sorry."
"What battlefield?" Yuzu said, displeased. "You've been spouting strange nonsense from the very beginning."
Yuto was silent for a moment, then placed his hand on his Duel Disk. "My turn, I draw!"
"I activate the effect of The Phantom Knights of Break Sword!"
"Once per turn, by detaching one Xyz Material from this card, I can target one card on my field and one card on your field and destroy them."
"I'll destroy my Continuous Trap, Phantom Knights' Fog Blade, and your Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir!"
As Yuto's words fell, one of the black orbs of light orbiting the phantom knight lit up. Two pitch-black greatswords descended from the sky, shattering both cards.
"When the Fusion Summoned Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir is sent to the GY, I can target one 'Melodious' monster in my GY and add it to my hand! I'm adding François the Melodious Maestra from my GY back to my hand!" Yuzu's expression remained unchanged as she took the card ejected from her Duel Disk.
"I activate the effect of Phantom Knights' Fog Blade from the GY! By banishing this card from the GY, I can target one 'Phantom Knights' monster in my GY and Special Summon it," Yuto continued his play without pause.
"I Special Summon The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots, which was just sent to the GY as an Xyz Material!"
"Next, I activate the Trap Card, The Phantom Knights of Lost Vambrace!"
"I target one face-up monster on the field; until the end of this turn, that monster loses 600 ATK, and its Level becomes 2. Also, my 'Phantom Knights' monsters cannot be destroyed by battle. After that, this card becomes a DARK Warrior Normal Monster (Level 2/ATK 600/DEF 0) and is Special Summoned to the Monster Zone in Defense Position."
The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots Level: 3 → 2
"Two Level 2 monsters this time?" Yuzu muttered, looking around. Her duelist's intuition told her she was in a very bad situation. She needed an Action Card to survive this turn.
"I use the now Level 2 The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots and the Level 2 The Phantom Knights of Lost Vambrace, which is treated as a monster! I build the Overlay Network!"
"Cursed spear of rebellion that has pierced thousands of warriors, now buried in darkness! Descend! Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 2, The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin!"
A skeletal warrior wielding a spear and shield appeared before Yuto.

"I activate the effect of The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin! By detaching one Xyz Material from this card, I can target one face-up monster on my opponent's field! Until the end of the turn, that monster's ATK becomes 0, and its effects are negated."
An eerie blue light shot from the skeletal lancer's shield, bathing the lone monster before Yuzu.

"Next, I Normal Summon The Phantom Knights of Torn Scales in Attack Position!"

"Battle! The Phantom Knights of Break Sword attacks Sonata the Melodious Diva!"
The skeletal knight tugged its reins, and its warhorse, wreathed in will-o'-wisps, charged toward the diva before Yuzu.
Seeing this, Yuzu quickly turned and ran, looking for an Action Card.
But just as Yuzu was a single step away from her goal, the skeletal knight's longsword struck the diva.
Yuzu LP: 4000 → 2000
The impact from her monster's destruction sent Yuzu flying. The spot where the Action Card was hidden was also destroyed in the blast.
Yuzu gritted her teeth, pushed herself up, and ran toward another Action Card she spotted.
However, Yuto's attack followed closely behind.
"The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin, direct attack!"
The skeletal lancer hurled the spear in its hand at the running Yuzu. The weapon landed right in front of her before exploding.
Yuzu LP: 2000 → 200
"It's over! The Phantom Knights of Torn Scales, direct attack!" Yuto commanded with a wave of his hand. A suit of armor held aloft by will-o'-wisps floated towards Yuzu.
Although this monster only had 600 ATK, it was more than enough to wipe out Yuzu's remaining 200 LP. Moreover, the path to the Action Card in front of her had been destroyed in the previous explosion.
Yuzu glanced back at the approaching armor of will-o'-wisps, gritted her teeth, and leaped.
