# Chapter 29: Melodious VS The Phantom Knights
"Yuzu!" The members of the Yusho Duel School turned pale with fright as they watched Yuzu leap out.
"Action Spell, Evasion!" Yuzu finally managed to grab the Action Spell and slapped it onto her Duel Disk.
The attack from Ghostfire Armor narrowly missed Yuzu, and at the last moment, she grabbed onto a broken guardrail.
But before everyone from the Yusho Duel School could breathe a sigh of relief, the guardrail Yuzu was holding, which had already become fragile from the continuous impacts, suddenly snapped.
Yuzu plummeted into the bottomless chasm below.
"Yuzu!" Yuya grew anxious in the audience. While this realistic projection wouldn't cause a duelist's death, injury was inevitable from such a high fall, even with safety measures.
Fortunately, at this critical moment, Yuto arrived on his phantom steed and barely managed to catch Yuzu.

"But for my friends at the Yusho Duel School, I won't lose this match!" Yuzu declared.
"Duelist Yuto very gallantly caught Duelist Yuzu! What a heartwarming scene!" the Announcer Uncle shouted, and the audience cheered teasingly.
"You brat, how long are you going to hold her?" In the audience, her father, Shuzo Hiiragi, had fire practically shooting from his eyes. If it weren't for the three kids desperately holding him back, he looked ready to storm the field and have a 'word' with this Yuto who dared to lay hands on his precious 'little cabbage'.
After Yuto landed, Yuzu heard the teasing cheers from all over the stadium, blushed, broke free from Yuto's embrace, and quickly backed away.
"Anyway, your attack is over, right? For the sake of my friends at the Yusho Duel School, I won't lose," Yuzu said.
"Even though I know you're not Ruri, you two are really alike, in every way," Yuto said.
"This guy's hitting on a girl out here. As his brother-in-law, don't you want to say something?" In the lounge, Yūga Hōzumi looked at Shun Kurosaki.
Shun Kurosaki shot Yūga Hōzumi an expressionless glare. "Boring."
After a moment, however, Shun Kurosaki spoke again. "But Yuto is right. This girl really does resemble Ruri, in every way."
"Ruri? Is she the comrade you're looking for?" Yuzu wanted to ask for clarification, but Yuto had already started his moves after ending the Battle Phase.
"I activate the effect of The Phantom Knights of Torn Scales!"
"By discarding one card from my hand, I can send one 'Phantom Knights' monster or one 'Phantom' Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to the Graveyard, other than another 'Torn Scales'."
After Yuto sent a card from his hand to the Graveyard, he took the card automatically searched by his Duel Disk.
"I send The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots to the Graveyard."
"Next, I activate the effect of The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots in my Graveyard!"
"I banish this card from the Graveyard to add one 'Phantom' Spell or Trap from my Deck to my hand."
"I add a second The Phantom Knights' Fog Blade to my hand. Then I set two cards and end my turn."
"My turn! I draw!" It was Yuzu's turn. Her face lit up when she saw the card she drew.
"I activate the Spell Card, Ostinato!"
"Since I control no monsters, I can send two 'Melodious' Fusion Materials from my hand or Deck to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon one 'Melodious' Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck! The monster summoned by this effect is destroyed during the End Phase, and if both materials are in my Graveyard, I can Special Summon them!"
"It seems Duelist Yuzu, despite the disadvantage of having an empty field, has drawn a card that can turn the tables! This time, it's a direct Fusion Summon from the Deck!"
"From my Deck, I send Mozarta the Melodious Maestra and Tamtam the Melodious Diva to the Graveyard."
Musical notes and petals danced around Yuzu as she clasped her hands before her chest.
"Oh, dazzling genius! Oh, sweet melody! Guided by the conductor's baton, unite your power as one! Let the stage resound with a triumphant song! Fusion Summon! Appear, Level 6, Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir!"
A pink flower slowly bloomed, and from its core, an elegant maiden made a magnificent entrance, scattering a large array of colorful petals.

"I activate the effect of Tamtam the Melodious Diva, which was used as a Fusion Material!"
"Since this card was sent to the Graveyard as a Fusion Material, I can target one 'Melodious' monster on my field. That monster loses 500 ATK, and you take 500 damage!"
The maiden standing on the flower lightly waved her delicate hand, and a shower of petals surged towards Yuto.

The maiden within the flower sang loudly, and sound waves mixed with colorful petals swept towards the skeletal knight.
"I activate my Continuous Trap, The Phantom Knights' Fog Blade, targeting Bloom Diva!"
"As long as this card is in the Spell & Trap Zone, the targeted monster cannot attack, cannot be targeted for attacks, and its effects are negated. When that monster leaves the field, this card is destroyed."
A phantom greatsword descended from the sky once more, swooping down towards the petite songstress.
"At this moment, I activate my Trap Card, Melodious Illusion! I target my Bloom Diva! This turn, she is unaffected by your Spell and Trap effects, and she can make two attacks during the same Battle Phase!" Yuzu activated the Trap she had set earlier.
After the phantom greatsword was blocked by the illusion that flew from the card, Bloom Diva's sonic attack met no resistance.
"In that case, I activate the effect of The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin!" His first plan thwarted, Yuto waved his hand again, and the black sphere of light surrounding the skeletal lancer beside him flashed.
"I detach one Xyz Material from this card to target one face-up monster on my opponent's field! Until the end of the turn, that monster's ATK becomes 0, and its effects are negated! Since this card has a 'Phantom Knights' card as an Xyz Material, I can activate this effect during my opponent's turn as well!"
The shield of The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin emitted a spectral blue light, shooting a beam towards Bloom Diva.
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Forbidden Chalice!" The moment the spectral blue light was about to reach Bloom Diva, Yuzu slammed a card from her hand onto her Duel Disk.
"I target one face-up monster on the field! Until the end of the turn, that monster gains 400 ATK, but its effects are negated!"
The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin, ATK: 1800 → 2200
The light from Cursed Javelin's shield instantly dimmed, and Bloom Diva's attack finally landed on The Phantom Knights of Break Sword.
The Phantom Knights of Break Sword shattered into pieces under the sonic attack.
