As the three thugs cursed, the bruised-and-battered pair stumbled out of the alley.
Fortunately, Aqua, being a goddess, still possessed basic healing abilities. She managed to restore their faces to a state that wouldn't make children cry.
"Hey, hey, hey, aren't you a goddess? How come they didn't even know about your cult?" Kazuma asked, rubbing his cheek.
"I don't know what's going on! This doesn't seem to be the world we were supposed to go to!" Aqua said, scratching her head, looking like a confused duck whose brain had shut down.
"What do you mean, 'not the world we were supposed to go to'?"
"I was originally supposed to send you to a world to defeat a Demon King, but I don't know where things went wrong... This isn't the world we were scheduled for!"
"Hah? As a goddess, what exactly is your use?"
"Hey! This is your fault for dragging me here! Maybe that's what caused the error! And I'm not even sure, okay!"
As Kazuma and Aqua bickered, his hand subconsciously slipped into his pocket.
"Hm?"
He felt something strange and pulled it out.
"An Adventurer Card? I didn't have this on me before. And those thugs didn't find it?"
It was a card as thin as a cicada's wing, but it had his name, Satou Kazuma, written on it, along with various stats, almost like a character panel in a game.
"Hey, I seem to have one too!"
Aqua also fished a card out of her clothes.
"According to the usual game progression, we should have to register at the Adventurer's Guild to get this... I get it! No wonder those thugs had never heard of it! The game must have skipped the 'go to the guild' part for us! It looks like we're still destined for a life of adventure!"
Kazuma's face lit up with anticipation. He scanned the stats on his card.
"As the hero, my stats must be pretty good, right? Let's see yours—"
Kazuma immediately shifted his gaze to the card in Aqua's hand.
Except for Intelligence and Luck, every single one of her stats completely crushed his.
"..."
Kazuma pretended he hadn't seen a thing and silently turned his head away.
"Hey, how are my stats? What are yours?" Aqua asked curiously.
Kazuma pretended not to hear her, turned his back, and began humming nonchalantly.
'Why are this useless goddess's stats so much higher than mine? Why? Why? WHY!?'
Kazuma grit his teeth, staring at his card. Just then, he noticed a new change.

Kazuma's face was full of hope as he chose to use his skill point.

The girl shouted, dashing past Kazuma at a speed far exceeding a normal person's.
However, in that split second, she became the target of Kazuma's "Steal."
A pair of white panties appeared in Kazuma's hand.
"Huh?"
Kazuma stared blankly at the tiny panties, but a perverted smile soon crept onto his face.
In the distance, the girl who had just flashed by skidded to a stop. Her body trembled. She turned her head to look at Kazuma, just in time to see the panties in his hand. She pulled her shorts open slightly, glanced down, and—
