Zion's expression was cold and proud, the contempt in his eyes impossible to hide.
"If you dare to do something so disgraceful, you should have been prepared to face the consequences."
His voice grew colder as he continued.
"Vanessa, you're fortunate that you're the Crown Princess and have His Majesty's protection. Otherwise, for what you tried to do earlier, I would have made sure you remembered the lesson for the rest of your life."
He did not wait for a response.
Zion turned around and walked back toward the banquet hall, his steps steady and unhurried.
The encounter had left him with nothing but disgust. He had once considered Vanessa's actions part of the resentment he carried toward the people who had ruined the original Zion's life. But tonight, she had crossed a line even he had not expected her to cross.
Inside his mind, Black was still furious.
