Chapter 23 Pleasing the Gods
The banquet hosted by Oceanus soon ended, and Taron returned to his own void.
He did not take the chance encounter with Prometheus, the god of prophecy and foresight, to heart.
No matter what kind of impact this god of prophecy and foresight will have on the world in the future, he is still too young now. He was born only a hundred years ago and is considered a young god.
But it was also because he was still young that he developed a liking for Taren because of their close priesthood. This was purely an instinct. When he grew up a little more, this instinct would no longer affect him.
But he is still affected now, so when Prometheus returns to his residence, the first thing he does is to look for his father, the Titan Iapetus.
He wanted to know information about Taren, and his brief contact with Taren made him realize his specialness.
His foresight told him that it would be of great benefit to him if he spent more time with Tarun.
Because he was young and could not fully master the priesthood, Prometheus did not know what the so-called benefits of this vague perception were, but it was precisely the unknown that was more attractive.
But when the Titan Iapetus heard Prometheus' question, his expression became quite strange.
"You're saying that you encountered His Highness Taren in the Great Ocean Current and felt a desire to be close to him. Your prophet told you that contact with him would be beneficial?"
"Revered Father God, I do feel that way," Prometheus said, his face showing a hint of anticipation. "Can you tell me about his origins and background?"
Also because of his foresight, Prometheus knew that his father knew everything, so he came to ask.
The Titan god Iapetus took a deep look at his son, who was always known for his intelligence, and fell into hesitation and indecision.
He did know about Taren and, like the other Titans, speculated that he was the God of Fate rather than the God of Prophecy, but there was no evidence for this, only speculation.
But the other party's mystery and strength are unquestionable, even if his divine power does not seem outstanding, it has only been a medium-level divine power for so many years.
But after witnessing with their own eyes how he used his weak strength to interrupt the curse that the powerful God of the Sky had cast with all his strength, all the Titans understood one thing: that sometimes divine power means nothing.
At least they possessed powerful divine powers at that time, but in the face of Uranus's desperate fight, they could not even resist, let alone stop it.
Looking back to a thousand years ago, when Taren first appeared before them, he only had a weak divine power, but at that time, he had already predicted the fall of a generation of God King.
When everything happened as he said, everyone realized that this was not something that a prophecy could do, and feelings of fear and dread naturally arose.
It has been hundreds of years since the reign of the God-King Uranus ended. The twelve Titans have not communicated with each other, but have reached a tacit understanding, that is, not to talk about Taren's affairs. Even if they have vague guesses in their hearts, they will never speak out.
Because if the other party is really the God of Destiny, Tarun will definitely be able to detect it when they talk about or do anything involving him.
Even after Uranus was killed, the Twelve Titans became the most powerful gods in the world except for the original gods, but after seeing Taren's specialness, they were unwilling to offend him.
In this situation, it was difficult for Iapetus not to hesitate when faced with Prometheus's questions.
But he soon changed his mind and remembered that Prometheus had already met Tarun, and the other party did not show any displeasure, and even said in person that they were destined to be together. In this case, there should be no problem in telling Prometheus.
If possible, Iapetus would certainly like to make friends with Taron, but unfortunately he has little chance. If he could make friends with Prometheus, that would also be good.
Thinking of this, Iapetus finally stopped hesitating and told Prometheus in detail about what he had seen and heard, all the prophecies that Talon had said before that had come true, and some of his guesses about Talon's identity.
Finally, he warned in a very serious tone: "Prometheus, you must not be disrespectful to His Highness Taren. He is an ancient being worthy of respect."
"If the other party is displeased by your actions, I will punish you personally!"
Prometheus nodded quickly. Although he had a vague premonition that Taren's identity might not be simple, Prometheus still did not expect that the other party's origins would be so mysterious and powerful.
He sincerely and earnestly promised: "Respected Father God, please rest assured that I will never displease His Highness Taren and will be extremely careful."
Seeing Prometheus's upright attitude, Iapetus finally felt relieved, but at the same time, he was curious: "How do you want to contact His Highness Taren?"
He thought Prometheus would choose to visit the void, but unexpectedly, Prometheus said:
"Since His Highness Taren told the great God King Kronos that he hopes there will be more life in this world, I will start from this aspect."
Iapetus was stunned when he heard this, and subconsciously frowned: "Prometheus, what do you want to do? You are not strong enough yet. Having children now will affect your divine authority."
Prometheus was at a loss whether to laugh or cry when he heard this, and quickly explained, "No, my dear Father, I have no such thoughts."
"I just want to help the great God King Kronos create more life. I already have some ideas."
Iapetus nodded with satisfaction, thinking in his heart that this was indeed his smartest child. After confirming that doing so would not cause Taron's displeasure, he ignored it.
Just as the Titan father and son finished their conversation, Taren, who was far away in the void at the edge of the world, noticed something.
He could feel that the power of his own destiny seemed to fluctuate, which proved that someone in this world was mentioning him, or something was related to him.
After just a little investigation, Tarun understood the whole story and couldn't help laughing.
"Prometheus, he actually wants to please me in this way, but I have to say, he is really smart. This is exactly what I want to see right now."
This also belongs to the fate that was driven by him. Taren's divine power increased again, and the increase was not small. This means that what is going to happen next is not a trivial matter for the whole world.
"Isn't this going to lead to the birth of a golden human? If that's the case, then I have to think about how to reward him."
Tarun murmured so, and became more and more excited about the next development.
