"Lilith...my songbird, are you ok?" A man asks with a quiet yet concerned voice as he gazes at his wife, who's holding their newborn daughter. Lilith merely looks at him over her shoulder, then turns back to look at the infant. Suddenly,y Lilith with a sigh responds. "We almost lost her, Lucifer…..She was born dead then, by….by some miracle she came back to life and now I can't help fearing that if I let her go she will suddenly stop breathing again." Her purple eyes dim at the thought as she clutches her daughter tighter. Lucifer gives a sad look at his wife's pain, but walks up to hold her, even if his shorter height means he cant rest his head on hers the mere act causes lilith to smile before a whimper causes her to lock onto her now awake daughter who with a whine opens her eyes showing the purple pupils with slits like her mothers that dart around with curiosity.
"Lilith, she has your eyes!....she honestly has your everything. She's a mini you!" Lucifer brightens up as he coos at their daughter while Lilith looks at them with pure love and affection. "Yes, but something tells me she also takes after you also" Lucifer gazes at his daughter at that, and suddenly they both freeze as with a sneeze, their daughter turns into a baby snake with purple eyes and blonde stripes. Lilith holds her now snake-looking daughter when she wiggles, afraid of her falling, while Lucifer goes wide-eyed and mouths oh when he realizes his shapeshifting was passed down to his daughter. "Looks like she got some of my powers?.... Lilith, what are you doing?" Lilith tries tickling her daughter's snakey nose to make her baby sneeze and hopefully turn back.
Lilith turns and gives him a look before she finally gets her baby to sneeze and turn back into a squirming infant instead of a wiggly snake. "Oh, thank the…..Nevermind. Lucifer, what will we do?! If she transforms every time she sneezes, what's to stop her from turning into an animal and getting lost or hurt!" Lilith starts fretting, holding her baby close as Lucifer listens to her worries. With a smile, he calms her down. "It's ok, Lilith, I'll simply cast a spell to limit her powers till she's old enough to control them…I promise nothing will happen to our little princess!" Saying so, Lucifer uses his power to temporarily seal away the shapeshifting gift of his daughter, who merely giggles at the golden lights, trying to catch them with a wide-eyed look of wonder. Lilith grows relaxed at this as she realizes she never told Lucifer their daughter's name.
"Lucifer…..Her name is Evelyn...I know what you're thinking, but I truly feel bad for what happened to Eve, and I guess this is my way of trying to make amends, so to speak." Lucifer gazes at Lilith as she rambles uncharacteristically, her purple eyes looking down at their daughter. Lucifer sighs, realizing that even a thousand years since, Lilith still blames herself for what happened with Eve in the garden. "Lilith, it's a beautiful name, but what happened that day wasn't your fault alone….we both chose to give her that apple because neither of us thought about the consequences freewill would bring. If you feel naming our daughter after Eve will help, then I truly support it just like I support you." Lilith looks up and sees the pure love on his face, and finally feels a burden lift from her shoulders as she hands him their daughter, who starts to drift off to sleep held in her father's arms.
Lucifer gazes down at his sleeping child, and a look of resolve fills him as he looks out at the chaotic and dangerous ring of hell he rules personally. "Lilith….Hell isn't safe to raise our daughter…not when, despite being its King and Queen, our authority is questioned…. From now on, I will actively rule hell and make it a place our daughter can grow up in without worrying if a rogue sinner will blow her up or something far worse." Lilith gazes at the determination in her husband and realizes that he has finally regained his fire. She loved and smiled as she walked up to stand beside him, gazing at the kingdom they had made. "That's the luci I fell for….We will bring hell and its sinners to order….for our daughter and any other children we have in the future." And with those words, the future that hasn't happened yet should have forever changed, for a foreign soul's arrival will change everything.
