In a world where the “Magic” defines one’s worth and potential, Makoto Kurosawa, an ordinary boy from the Upper World, is suddenly brought to this land for reasons unknown. Alongside him is a girl he seems to have known before—Reina Kirisaki, who guides him through this unfamiliar world and appears to have once lived in the Lower World herself. Amidst the halls of the magical academy Elusis Arcania, a place filled with prodigious spellcasters and gifted magician, Makoto awakens something far from ordinary boy. Yet, the more he learns, the more distorted the truth of this world becomes.
