Chapter 1 - 1 My New Life

My name is **Akari Okada**, and honestly, my life was as normal as it gets.

School, cram school, go home, sleep — nothing special.

That day felt like any other.

I was tired, a little hungry, and mostly thinking about the melon bread in my bag. The road was quiet, the light turned green, and I stepped into the crosswalk without much thought.

Then a loud horn blasted behind me.

I turned my head and saw a truck coming way too fast.

The driver looked panicked, but there wasn't any time to react.

A bright flash—

then nothing.

When I opened my eyes, the first thing I noticed was how soft the bed felt.

Not mine. Way too fancy.

I sat up slowly, still confused.

This wasn't a hospital.

The room was too neat, too decorated, too… expensive-looking.

I looked around again, taking in everything—the old-style furniture, the long curtains, the delicate patterns on the walls.

And then it hit me.

The room didn't look Japanese at all.

"…Wait. This isn't Japan."

And it definitely, absolutely wasn't my room.

I pushed the blanket aside and stood up, legs a bit shaky. My nightgown wasn't mine either—too frilly, too elegant, too… princess-like.

My chest tightened as I tried to make sense of it.

There was a full-length mirror near the window, so I walked toward it.

The reflection wasn't Akari Okada.

The girl staring back had long **silver curls**, soft **violet eyes**, and a face that looked like it had stepped out of a fantasy illustration.

My breath caught.

"No way…"

I knew that face.

This was **Annie von Champer**—the villainess from my favorite otome game, *Eternal Crown Stories*.

Beautiful, proud… and destined for a terrible ending.

A wave of disbelief washed over me.

"I… reincarnated? And into the villainess!?"

Before I could spiral, the door opened.

A tall blond young man stepped inside wearing a crisp uniform. His blue eyes softened when he saw me awake.

My stomach dropped.

It was **Leon Albrecht**, one of the game's main capture targets.

In the original story, he disliked Annie from the start.

"Lady Annie," he said gently, "you're awake. Are you feeling alright?"

I panicked a little.

"Uh—yes! I mean—yes, I'm fine!"

He tilted his head slightly, clearly confused.

"You seem… different today."

Well… yeah.

I tried to choose my words carefully.

"Actually… my name is Akari Okada."

Leon blinked.

"A…kari? Is that a nickname?"

"No! I mean—never mind! Forget it."

He still didn't get it but didn't ask more. When he quietly stepped out to call someone, I turned back to the mirror and touched my new silver hair.

This wasn't a dream.

I was really Annie von Champer now.

And according to the game, Annie's future was basically a disaster.

"Okay… new plan," I whispered to myself. "I'll make sure I don't get doomed. I'm changing this story's route, no matter what."

The girl in the mirror stared back at me—silver hair, violet eyes, and a determination that felt completely mine.

Right now, I'm **Annie von Champer**.

And I'm going to make sure I get a happy life.

I'll change the route—no matter what it takes.

So be prepared, world.

Let's go.
