Chapter 1 - Chapter 001 the awakening

—Everything was dark. I only remembered being with my family and... suddenly something or someone attacked us... and everything went dark...

[Starting link] —Huh? What's happening? I thought I heard something... I can't see anything or feel my body. What do I do now...?

[Link completed] [Welcome. We'll give you a second chance, but... don't worry, you still won't remember this. Even so, we'll give you a small gift.] [Acquiring ability (Demon King)]

[Good luck. Don't come back here too soon.] —What? What do you mean I won't remember any of this? And what is this ability? Hello...?

Everything started spinning then... I felt a body, although I didn't know what had happened, I couldn't remember what had happened. I thought I was finally going to wake up...

When I opened my eyes, I realized I was inside what looked like a cave, and there were wolves, but... they seemed like they were going to die at any moment. After all, they were all skinny, yet they were still frightening. I wanted to run away, but I couldn't; my body wouldn't respond.

—"What's happening? Why can't I move? I need to get out of here..."

But it was then, when I looked down to see my body and why I couldn't move, that I realized... I was no longer a human. Now I was a little wolf, seemingly a newborn, and that's why I couldn't move.

—"How can this be possible? What happened? No, this can't be happening... this is impossible. How am I... I'm a human. How did I end up like this? Could it be... that I reincarnated after that incident?" What will I do now? I need to get back to my family. How are they? This must be a dream. Yes, it must be a dream.

—"Wake up! I need to get out of here." I crawled as best I could, but the next instant I felt something— not someone, but a she-wolf, seemingly the mother of this body — lift me up and carry me back to the depths of the cave.

"No, I need to get out, wake up already..."

No matter how much I screamed, I couldn't speak, and no one could hear me, nor would they. I could only plead that this was a dream...

One day passed. "I haven't eaten anything in a day, and I'm sure that if I continue like this, I'll starve to death, but I refuse to eat like this. I'm not an animal."

"How can torture like this exist?" *stomach growls* I'm so hungry, but I have to hold on. I won't go down that easily...

I spent all morning watching the wolves go in and out of the cave. I couldn't wake up from this nightmare. Evening came, and I saw a wolf bring in some kind of rabbit, but the wolf carrying it was badly wounded, as if one more attack would be enough to finish him off. I saw him share his food with the other wolves, and by nightfall, of the possible 20 wolves that had gone out hunting, only 10 or 12 had returned. It seemed the others had perished in battle or while trying to find food. But one thing all the returning wolves had in common was that they were all badly wounded. I saw some carrying food and sharing it, and others who didn't want to share but had to anyway because they couldn't protect all their food.

It was late at night when a wolf suddenly appeared. It seemed to have fallen behind, but something about it intrigued me. It had many battle wounds, bites, and other injuries, but one part was unmistakable: an arrow lodged in its thigh. That could only mean two things: either there were beasts capable of making arrows, or... there were humans.

Little by little, I began to understand these wolves. They seemed to be one of the weakest breeds of beasts, dying of hunger, except for a few who managed to hunt small prey that wasn't even enough to fill their own stomachs. Despite this, they decided to bring it back and share it.

"I'm starting to feel sorry for you..." *stomach growls* "Oh, I'm so hungry. I have no other choice. I'll have to drink milk. Goodbye, my pride and dignity. I swear I won't go through this kind of embarrassment again."

"I'm starting to feel sorry for you..." I drank to avoid dying, and then I went to sleep. The next morning I realized that I had grown a little more. It seems that drinking breast milk activated some growth cells and this helped me to get up, although it was difficult for me to walk, at least I could move more freely.

Today I also saw a pack of wolves out hunting, and some were bringing back prey. Rabbits were the most common catch, and others were carrying scraps of meat as if they'd stolen them from another beast or leftovers. One even brought a branch with fruit.

Despite the variety, it was very little, and they were still malnourished. I promised myself that when I grew up and could hunt, I would bring them some good prey so they could be full.

A few more days passed, and every day was the same routine. I must admit that in this world, being a four-legged beast is a disadvantage. After all, in movies and novels, you see that goblins, for example, having hands, have a greater range of motion for different activities. They can wield swords or create clothing and other things, but having four legs makes things more difficult. The only advantage is that we run faster.

On the fifth day, everything was calm until... *thump* a loud bang was heard, I got up immediately, I saw how most of the wolves ran out at full speed, only the mother wolves and their pups stayed behind, I slowly approached to see what was happening.
