I shook my head. "It's fine, it's been years already. I'll go to the bank and get you the money tomorrow."

"Adam't bother." Elizabeth Campbell said, "I don't care about that bit of money. Originally, I was going to make you pay it back with interest, but looking at your family's situation, let's just say my soft heart is acting up and I'm helping out."

Elizabeth Campbell gave me a half-annoyed, half-amused glance. "It's not like you're getting off scot-free though. From now on, in the apartment, you can't use your status as the landlord to give people a hard time—especially not Brittany Scott."

"I never gave anyone a hard time. I just thought you pretty women all assume men should always put up with you, just for your looks, right? But I'll admit to you two now, I was wrong about that." I said.
