When I had no way out, Elizabeth Campbell hurried over to stop me: "You can't beat them at their own game. They run the casino—obviously they're just here to scam you."
As a rebellious rich girl, Elizabeth obviously knew the ins and outs of The Four Gates. She felt Tobby shouldn't get himself involved in this mess. Because going up against Westgate was a sure loss; most people avoided him, Tobby really shouldn't play the hero.
"If I don't play, how would I know if I could win?" I replied.
"Do you really think you can beat the gambling pros in a legit casino? There are fifty tables here, and pretty much every table with a dealer has a master holding it down. How are you going to play against them?" Elizabeth frowned. "Just stay out of this. Your coworker is a cop, no matter how crazy Westgate gets, there's no way he'd hit a cop in front of all these people. Worst case, he gets beaten up and fired."
