Synopsis
When Jaden’s reality starts glitching—freezing hallways, repeating days, error messages flashing in mid‑air—he thinks he’s losing it. But when a mysterious system chooses him as its “target,” Jaden is dragged into a world where bugs can kill, timelines rewrite themselves, and nothing stays the same for long. Caught between his best friend Nova, who knows more about the glitches than she admits, and a quiet new guy who keeps appearing at the strangest moments, Jaden realizes he’s at the center of something much bigger. To survive, he’ll have to uncover why the system chose him… and what’s coming for their world next.

Chapter 1 - 1 Jaden.exe has crashed

Jaden's day started the way every disaster probably did—Painfully Normal

He woke up forty minutes late, the alarm screaming at him as if he had done something personal against it. He rolled off the bed, falling to the floor, barely avoiding stepping on his backpack, and scrambled to shower. Brushing his teeth, combing his hair and packing his bag—everything done in fast forward.

He almost forgot his lunch until he spotted the brown bag on the counter. Typical highschooler behaviour. His brain was clearly still asleep.

On his way out, he stopped by his sister's room, she was supposed to be at work already (guess being late runs in the family). Instead she was snoring loud enough to shake windows.

"Wake up", Jaden said.Nothing.

He stared at a nearby cup of water and asked himself "...Yeah, why not?"

Ten seconds later, he was sprinting down the hallway as she yelled his name like a battle cry.

He rushed into the kitchen, leaned over and kissed his mom's cheek, and said," Love you! Bye!"

"You're late, young man—"

"I KNOW"he shouted as he bowed slightly at a picture frame and whispered "Bye dad, Love you". He darted outside—and of course the bus was already closing its doors. Jaden threw himself forward shouting "WAIT-!"

The driver sighed, opening the doors again .

Before climbing in, something flickered in the corner of his eye. A bird on the powerline .... glitching? Its wings jumped like a broken video.

Jaden blinked.

Yep. Either he needed sleep or glasses

Probably both.
